President It was wonderful to have a few members join our Skype meeting last month and be able to chat with each other. I am finding that it does not matter how long you stay online for, the interaction outside the home is wonderful and you get to remember what friends look like again. See the ad here for details (Page x) The Western Victorian Crane Trucks Valley Stages rally is progressing very well. The field is now full, however there is a reservation list. Provided restrictions ease enough for Craig and his brilliant team, the event will go ahead. If you would like your own private viewing spectator spot (It may be the only way to see any cars) then please contact Denise Chenhall – 0417 015 972 This would have to be the slowest year in my whole adult life, nearly as slow as when I was a child waiting for school holidays to happen. Some of us would remember when there were only 3 terms a year and the Christmas hols were 7 or 8 weeks long. That is what this year with minimal motorsport has been like. So, while not much is happening out in motorsport land I have been reading cover to cover the local Longwarry News(letter) so I now know that I can have a few gardening care givers, suppliers of said products or if its really bad I now know where to get the big earthworks gear from. Since we recently had Fathers Day, here are a few more Dad Jokes but thanks must go to my local newsletter. Q:

What 2 things can you never eat for Breakfast?

A:

Lunch and Dinner.

Q:

There is only one word in the dictionary that is spelled wrong. What is it?

A:

The word “WRONG”. It is the only word that is spelled wrong.

Q:

It belongs to you, but your friends use it more. What is it?

A:

Your Name.

Q:

I have a tail and a head, but no body. What am I?

A:

A coin.

If we are able to have our annual Christmas party this year, we will let you all know what, where, who, and when so please keep your eyes and ears open for times, dates and the secret location. See you on Skype and make sure you bring a friend (they can go and get the nibbles and drinks while you are in your important meeting), or your fur babies.

Vice President Hey NCCA Land, So we here in Melbourne, well most of Melbourne, are still working our way through lockdown but it does look like we have a ray of hope and we might be out of this sooner rather than later. In saying this it looks like that we will all be back out in the forest or on the gravel soon enough which is great news and gives us all something to look forward too. If things keep going they way they currently are we will be out in the forest for Yarra Valley Stages and hopeful our end of year BBQ will still go ahead. We will have more news on this as we come closer to the date, depending on the advice and restrictions that are still in place. Watch this space! For now, I have another recipe for you and this month it’s a sweet treat! Sideways Snickers Cookies!

In a large bowl mix together butter, both sugars and salt until a paste forms with no lumps. Whisk in the egg and vanilla to the butter and sugar mixture. Sift in the flour and baking soda. Fold into the mixture with a spatula being careful not to overmix the dough. Fold in the chocolate chips. Cut 4 of the snickers bars into small chunks and fold these into the mixture. Place the dough into the fridge to chill for 1 hour.

Ingredients 1/2 cup Sugar 3/4 cup Brown sugar 1/2 tsp Salt 115g

Melted unsalted butter

1 Egg 1 tsp Vanilla Extract 1 1/2 cups

Plain Sugar

1/2 tsp Baking soda 7

Preheat oven to 180C and line a baking tray with baking paper. 1 cup

8

Cut the remaining 2 snickers bars into 12 slices. Use an ice-cream scoop, or about 1 1/2 tbs, to scoop dough onto

9

baking tray. Leave about 5cm in between dough balls to allow the cookies to spread.

10

11

12

Place a snickers slice in the centre of the cookie dough and press down slightly. Place cookies in the over and cook for 12 - 15 minutes, or until the edges start to brown slightly. Remove from the oven and cool before serving. Once cooled, enjoy!

Milk chocolate chips (Dark will also work)

6 Snickers bars

Secretary Hi All, Well, here we are still with no action on the motorsport OR social scene. This year has been a whole new experience for all of us. Imagine going through all this without the internet! My mother, who is 90, remembers schools being closed down when she was young because of a polio outbreak. They only had books to read. That’s right, no radio or television either. However, on the brighter side of that, she does not remember having to do school work at home. We are hoping that the Yarra Valley Stages gets the go ahead to run. It has a new date in November. We must say a big thank you to the Marysville Stages organisers for offering the date of their event for us to run ours Hopefully we may be able to run a couple of Motorkhana’s towards the end of the year. We are still planning our Xmas BBQ, but yet again, this will depend on Government regulations. Our next Skype get together will be on the 9th October starting at 730. The link is in the mag. Join us on line and catch up with others in club. Stay safe and healthy all

Treasurer Bank balance as at 25/09/2020

$67720.82

This balance is largely due to Craig’s Valley Stages Rally. Memberships are still ticking away, so a really good position. Have been busy on the SSS, have rebuilt the front end. 240K struts, Calipers and Rotors. Began work on the rear end, dropped it out and what an amount of dirt and dust gathered over the years. So much so, had to cut old brake lines to remove them. New brake lines for the rear as well as front. Still off work and waiting with baited breath on the so called plan from our premier as to what is happening in the upcoming weeks. Really would like to go back to work so as to rebuild my SSS budget. Looking forward to motorsport return soon. See ya round.

Editor Pretty much said what i needed to say at the start of this issue. It’s worth noting that magazine engagement is at some of the highest levels it’s been in recent years which is fantastic, and I want to continue seeing more readership hence the redesign of the mag. We’ve got some special additions peppered throughout this issue such as the clean Bluebird writeup and historical clippings from website archives. We intend to feature old RallySport Mag articles and clippings of interest to club members over the coming months as well, so stay tuned for that.

I have also had a message about a car for sale. 1991 Nissan NX Coupe 295 thousand km Manual Would suit someone looking for a car to restore. $1600 Contact Andrew Laverick (andrewlaverick9@gmail.com)

This month ................... in 2006 Website This was the homepage of the Nissan Car Club Australia Inc website. It featured scrolling text, a rotating logo and prominently displays the NCCA / Datsun colours.

Magazine The magazine this month featured 21 pages of NCCA goodness, covering the usual assortment of stuff as well as a couple of special write ups and images.

Events The club hosted a round of the Group 5 Motorkhana series at BP Oasis in Somerton this month. The top 3 outright placings went to: Bill McCarthy: Delta S2, VMCi Malcolm Cardwell: Galant, HSCCV Andrew Woods: 1600, NCCA

Membership Hi All, As I write this, we’re still not able to have face to face club meetings, but we’ve been able to catch up via Skype. Hopefully we’ll be able to have a Christmas party this year! In the last month or so we’ve had some new members join the club. Welcome to Heath Waddington, Mitch Hendrie, Lisa Beaumont and Mark Kita. I hope to catch up with you at a club meeting at some stage, or on the Friday night Skype link https://join.skype.com/XX1uQSoyhLKa. The club currently has 289 members. That’s it from me.

Rally **Editors words ** Valley Stages has been rescheduled to the 28th of November after the roadmap out made it infeasible to run the event on it’s planned October date. The field is now full, and is taking reserve entries. Forms can be downloaded from the NCCA website HERE.

Autocross ** No report due to lack of events**

Racing ** No article due to lack of events **

Motorkhana Hey guys as you might have already guessed we have no events to report on but there is a chance that we might get let out to play again soon. So in the mean time I have spent my time in reflection pondering the various types of drivers that you might come across during your motorsport Career. Please do not take it personally as I’m sure we all have a bit of each of these in us. The ‘Rager’ (not to be confused with the Ranga) This guy/girl might have just got out of prison or might be on his/her way there. Every aspect of driving is approached with aggression. To get focused on the start line he/she bangs his/her head against the steering wheel. Winning is everything. He/she uses second place trophies as kindling for fire starting. The ‘Wiz’ Never makes a mistake and if he/she does, recovers so well it looks deliberate. Can slide his/her car sideways between flags whilst picking his/her nose and waving at his/her adoring fans. The car is nothing special but the times it produces are. The ‘I love my car’ He/she dreams about his/her car. He/she wants to be buried in his/her car. Stresses about his/her car. Has installed a laser alarm with 24 hr surveillance in his/her garage. Will hit you if you touch his/her car. The ‘I hate my car’ (I love this guy/girl) Usually a love hate sort of thing (not that anyone would admit it). This car doesn’t need to be warmed up. The car gets washed when it rains or is driven through a puddle. The car has a rev limiter (we know cause we have all heard it). Zip ties, gaffa tape and rev screws are used to hold this car together.

Editors note: Shortened due to space. I can assure you the rest of the descriptions were just as accurate as these ones.
