Entertainment
The biggest party of your life...
Wedding entertainment is essential to keep guests engaged, create a joyful atmosphere, and make the day memorable for both the couple and their loved ones.
Weddings can be long events with moments of downtime where guests may feel disengaged or bored. Entertainment fills these gaps, keeping guests happily occupied and involved throughout the day. Whether it’s music, interactive activities, or unique acts, entertainment ensures that guests are never left wondering what to do next, boosting their overall enjoyment.
Wedding entertainment helps transform your celebration from a standard event into a joyful party that guests will remember and talk about for years. Thoughtfully chosen entertainment adds personality to your big day, reflects the couple’s style, and turns moments into lasting memories. This can range from live music during the ceremony to surprise performances or fun activities during the reception.
My musical adventures started with a few scary weeks with a viola in junior school, however, I’m sure my decision not to continue came as a great relief not only to my music teacher, but also my parents! My Mum played the piano and I grew up listening to her playing tunes from the shows and musicals. She encouraged me to try a few lessons which I did for a little while, but I wasn’t the best pupil and once I started playing sport in my early teens, music took a back seat.
In my late teens a few lads at college started playing guitars which ended up with the inevitable ‘Let’s form a band” – very Spinal Tap!. Huddled in bedrooms and cold damp rehearsal rooms, horrific versions of classic tunes were thrashed out, with my early contributions being on the bass guitar! But how many guitarists can you have in a band? So, having bought a little Yamaha keyboard a few months early, and remembering a few chords from my lessons, I nobly sacrificed my career as a bassist.
From those early days I was bitten by the music bug, especially playing live – and it’s a buzz that’s never gone away. The next few years were spent gigging in pubs and clubs which gave me an interesting and varied musical (and social!) education. That led to memorable adventures playing across the UK theatre circuit, some amazing festival gigs (yep, Glastonbury!) and stints in a mix of blues, rock and wedding bands. Having played in a popular wedding duo, I then decided to perform as a solo pianist, and I’ve never looked back.
Music undeniably provides a soundtrack to life. It certainly has for me, and never more so than on a wedding day. Live music simply adds another level of emotion whether that’s setting the mood as guests arrive, amplifying the emotions during a ceremony, entertaining guests during the drinks reception or providing a chilled vibe during the wedding breakfast.
The great thing with music is that as well as the classic favourites everyone has, there’s always a stream of new material being released, which means it keeps everything fresh.
Recent years have seen a growth in the stripped back ‘Live Lounge’ vibe, which is ideal for piano as evidenced by the playlists on Spotify and Apple Music.
The current digital stage pianos now have a wide selection of high quality sounds enabling seamless transitions between traditional piano, boogie-woogie, dance/EDM, R’n’B, Bridgerton, pop, rock etc – all at the press of a button. It’s always great fun interpreting songs and coming up with unique piano arrangements, especially for ceremonies – and including a few surprises too!
Playing weddings is a wonderful privilege and something I’ve been very fortunate enough to do for many years, and I still love turning melodies into memories on your wedding day.

ealth & Beauty
Focusing on both health and beauty in the months leading up to a wedding is crucial for enhancing confidence, radiance, and wellbeing, ensuring you feel your best physically and mentally on your special day.
Wedding preparations can be stressful, which often takes a toll on your skin, hair, nails, and overall mental health. A well-planned approach to health and beauty helps combat stress, supports a glowing complexion, maintains hair vitality, strengthens nails, and cultivates mental calmness and confidence. Your partner is marrying you for who you are, but feeling your best boosts your self-esteem and joy on the big day.
Starting skincare routines 6 to 12 months ahead lets dermatologists address concerns like acne, pigmentation, or hair loss effectively. Less is more in skincare—overloading your skin can cause irritation, so a streamlined regimen with essentials like antioxidants, retinol, and sunscreen is recommended. Hair care should also begin early with regular trims and styling plans to ensure healthy, full hair by your wedding.
C
elebrants & Toastmasters
Celebrants and toastmasters play crucial roles in making your wedding ceremony meaningful, personalised, and organised, ensuring the day runs smoothly and reflects your unique love story.
A wedding celebrant is responsible for officiating the ceremony, guiding the couple through the symbolism, vows, and rituals that make the event personal and heartfelt. Unlike traditional registrars, celebrants tailor the ceremony to reflect your personalities, values, and relationship, often including bespoke elements such as personalised vows, symbolic acts (e.g., handfasting or unity sand ceremonies), and meaningful readings.
This creates a unique and memorable ceremony that truly celebrates your bond. Celebrants also work closely with you during planning to bring your vision to life, coordinating with venues and other wedding suppliers to ensure smooth execution. While celebrant-led ceremonies in England and Wales are currently symbolic and not legally binding, it’s common to combine them with a brief legal civil ceremony before or after the celebration.

Hi! Thank you for stopping by and viewing my profile. My name is Suzanne and I’m an independent celebrant based in Leighton Buzzard, serving Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire and Oxfordshire (but am very happy to travel further afield too!).
I’m here to let you know that by separating your wedding ceremony from the legalities of your paperwork, you really can create the wedding of your dreams! Without the constraints of a registrar-led or religious wedding, your ceremony can happen at any place and at a time that is meaningful to you as a couple, as well as allowing for the freedom to completely personalise your script and add fun elements to your day. After all, your ceremony should set the tone for the rest of the day, not be the boring bit that you want to rush through so that you can move on to the fun stuff!
Every couple's love story is unique and your wedding ceremony should be too. I’m here to work with you to create a personal and fun-filled ceremony that perfectly reflects you as a couple, whether you’re dreaming of a traditional, romantic affair, a quirky and unconventional celebration or anything in between. No awkward moments, no boring scripts, just an individual experience that will have you and your guests smiling, laughing and maybe even shedding a happy tear or two.
Get in touch today and let’s start planning YOUR perfect ceremony!
Ask the expert
What if the pianist does not know what we have picked?
Learning new songs is a natural part of the job as new music is released everyday. Most musicians are happy to learn a couple of new tunes for your wedding, however, do check whether this incurs an additional charge – it will vary, so do make sure you ask that question!
Do you bring your own piano? or do you play on a keyboard?
I carry 3 professional stage pianos to every wedding so I can setup for all parts of your day across one or more venues. No breaks in music, no moving of gear –just live music! Naturally, I’m always happy to play an acoustic (grand) piano if your venue has one – as long as it’s in tune!
Ask the expert
What do we get included on the day of our wedding?
My wedding bundles include any combination of music from your guests arriving an hour before your ceremony, your ceremony songs (4 or 5 songs), a couple of hours during your drinks reception, a couple of hours during your wedding breakfast, and an hour or so for your room turnaround. So up to around 5 hours of live music on your wedding day.
How
much will a pianist cost?
Prices will vary depending on any travel required, specific setup/arrival/access requirements, if there are multiple venues e.g. church ceremony back to a hotel, the number of specific new songs required (see Q5), how long you want me to play on the day etc. Individual parts of your day can start from £200 while bundles are more attractively priced.
Can we see the musician play live before we book?
Some musicians may play live locally, as of course we can’t easily invite you to someone else’s wedding For all couples, I’ll happily jump on a video call and play a good selection of music so they have a decent chance to get a feel for what it might sound like on the day.
How
do we choose what we want played?
I arrange an initial video call around 90 days before your wedding to start chatting all things wedding music. If required, I’ll then either record some music tasters of your key songs, or jump on another call once I’ve learnt any particular songs you might like for your day. In terms of ceremony songs, you pick whatever you want, and give me a feel for the music genres you’d like for the rest of your day.
The Outfits & accessories
Always check the wedding invitation for specific dress codes or colors to avoid, such as white or colors matching the bridal party. It's also good etiquette to respect cultural norms, especially in religious ceremonies.
Start by understanding the bride’s dress style—its color (white, ivory, blush, champagne, or vibrant hues), fabric (satin, lace, tulle), and overall theme (modern, vintage, bohemian, traditional). This will serve as the foundation to select the groom’s outfit that complements these choices instead of matching exactly.
The groom’s attire sets the tone for the entire wedding party, reflecting the formality, theme, and colour scheme of the event. It distinguishes the groom from the groomsmen, making it clear who is the central figure at the ceremony. Moreover, a thoughtfully chosen outfit boosts the groom’s confidence and contributes significantly to memorable wedding photos and the overall atmosphere of the day.

Transport
Wedding transport is crucial for ensuring a smooth, stylish, and enjoyable experience on your special day, benefiting both the couple and their guests in multiple ways.
One of the primary reasons to arrange wedding transport is to ensure that everyone arrives on time. Reliable transport alleviates the stress of guests getting lost or delayed, which is particularly important for the bride, groom, and wedding party. Professional drivers are familiar with the area and traffic patterns, ensuring timely arrivals to ceremonies and receptions.
Providing transportation for guests enhances their experience by ensuring they travel in comfort and style. Guests will appreciate the convenience of not having to worry about parking, directions, or travel times. Luxury vehicles or spacious shuttles offer more comfortable rides for everyone, particularly for those with mobility issues or special needs.
Planning & Decor
Wedding planners and decorators play essential roles in creating a seamless, stress-free, and personalized wedding experience by managing logistics, budgeting, vendor coordination, and bringing creative visions to life.
1. Stress Reduction and Expert Management
Planning a wedding involves numerous tasks and decisions that can overwhelm couples. Wedding planners take on the responsibility of managing timelines, coordinating vendors, handling contracts, and troubleshooting unexpected issues, enabling couples to enjoy their engagement and wedding day without stress. They act as problem-solvers and crisis managers to ensure a smooth celebration.
2. Budget Management and Cost Efficiency
Planners help couples develop a realistic budget, track expenses, and avoid costly mistakes by guiding spending toward priorities and negotiating better deals with vendors. Their insider knowledge and industry contacts often lead to savings and value for money, keeping the event within financial plans.
3. Vendor and Logistics Coordination
Managing multiple vendors—from caterers to photographers and florists—can be challenging. Wedding planners coordinate schedules, communicate expectations, and ensure all vendors work together harmoniously. This coordination is vital on the wedding day, where planners supervise deliveries, setups, and timing, allowing the couple to focus on their celebration

atering & bars
The bar is often the heart of the reception, acting as a key social centerpiece where guests gather, mingle, and unwind. A thoughtfully designed bar with professional bartenders ensures smooth service, minimizes wait times, and enhances guest experience. Offering a diverse drink menu – including signature cocktails and non-alcoholic options – helps set a festive and personalized mood aligning with your wedding’s style and theme. Moreover, a quality bar experience can serve as a gracious thank you to guests for attending your special day, increasing overall enjoyment and satisfaction.
Hiring a professional bar & catering service simplifies the planning process by managing legal permits, stocking optimal drink quantities, and efficiently staffing the bar. This removes significant stress from the couple, avoids costly mistakes such as over-purchasing or running out of drinks, and upholds legal compliance at the venue.
Favours & Gifts
Wedding favours and stationery are meaningful touches that express gratitude to guests, enhance the wedding’s theme, and create lasting memories of your special day.
Wedding favours are thoughtful, small gifts given to guests as tokens of appreciation for sharing in your celebration. Though not mandatory, favours are a longstanding tradition dating back centuries, symbolizing good luck, happiness, and thanks. Favours help guests feel valued and add a personal touch to your wedding, reflecting your personality and theme. They also serve as memorable keepsakes that guests can cherish long after your day has ended. Popular favours range from edible treats like chocolates and jams to practical items such as scented candles, custom glassware, or eco-friendly gifts. Choosing favours that suit your style, budget, and your guests’ preferences will leave a positive impression and enrich the overall guest experience. Favours can also be functional—edible gifts or items guests can use daily tend to be most appreciated. Thoughtful presentation, such as personalised labels or elegant packaging that matches your décor, elevates the gesture further. Some couples incorporate favours into their table settings or create special favour tables, helping to integrate these gifts seamlessly into the celebration. Wedding favours are a charming way to say “thank you” while tying together the theme and atmosphere of your wedding.

Cake
The wedding cake goes beyond being just a dessert—it is a rich symbol of love, unity, and good fortune. Historically, it represented prosperity and fertility, with layers that reflect the growth and journey of the couple’s life together. The white icing traditionally symbolizes purity and innocence, while the act of the couple cutting the cake together marks their first joint task as a married couple, symbolizing teamwork and mutual commitment. Sharing the cake with guests invites loved ones to partake in the happiness and blessings of the marriage.
The roots of the wedding cake trace back to ancient Rome, where bread was broken over the bride’s head as a fertility ritual. In medieval England, the practice evolved into stacking sweet buns or cakes, with traditions such as kissing over the cake stack to ensure good luck. Over centuries, the cake became more elaborate, adopting tiers inspired by architectural designs like the London St Brides church steeple. British wedding cakes were traditionally dense fruitcakes rich with symbolic ingredients, often preserved for special family occasions.
Flowers
Wedding flowers are rich with symbolic meanings that span cultures and centuries. Many blossoms carry traditional messages—roses symbolize love and romance, lilies denote purity and innocence, and peonies represent prosperity and a happy marriage. These floral meanings can deepen the emotional significance of the wedding ceremony and align with the couple’s values or story. Brides and couples often choose specific flowers to honor family heritage, cultural traditions, or key moments in their relationship, adding a personalized layer of meaning to their celebration.
Choosing wedding flowers also involves practical elements such as seasonality, budget, and venue size. Seasonal flowers tend to be fresher, more affordable, and can highlight a natural connection to the time of year. Coordinating flower colors and styles with the wedding theme helps create a harmonious visual experience that enhances guests' enjoyment.
In summary, wedding flowers are essential not only for their beauty but for their profound ability to embody love, tradition, personality, and celebration, making the wedding day visually stunning and emotionally resonant for the couple and guests alike.
The venue often defines the wedding style, whether it's a classic church, rustic barn, elegant ballroom, or outdoor garden. It creates the backdrop that shapes the couple’s vision and the guests’ emotional experience.
A well-chosen venue aligns with the theme and personality of the couple, making the event feel cohesive and memorable.
A suitable venue ensures there is enough space for guests, catering, entertainment, and other wedding activities.
It affects accessibility, parking, accommodations, and comfort, all of which contribute to how smoothly the event runs. A poorly chosen venue can cause discomfort, inconvenience, or chaos on the big day.
