The building now known as ‘The Forge’ is several hundreds of years old and was a Granary, a Stable and the Forge for Dunraven Estates. It has been converted from one of the barns of Southerndown Farm, the main farmhouse being originally the Manager's home for the Estate which still owns most of the land surrounding Southerndown – all the farmland you can see from the upstairs window belongs to Dunraven Estate and is now tenanted out to farmers.

Hous Viridis – ‘the green house’ – is unique crafted by the owners from three large shipping containers, creating a splendid holiday home for eight. Standing on a hillside smallholding alongside some of the world’s smallest sheep - Ouessants – and pygmy goats, the property provides a cosy and alluring hideaway. Guests can relax in a living area with an eight person sofa, Ercol dining suite, 50 inch TV and log burner. Sleep spaces are provided in two double bedrooms and a four-person bedroom.

Guests share a bath and shower, while rustling up treats is simplicity itself in a kitchen with a Ninja air fryer, Neﬀ oven, Nespresso coﬀee machine and American-style fridge.

Cooks adore the outdoor kitchen with pizza oven, firepit and barbecue, strategically near the undercover decking with an eight person hot tub, another big smart TV, board games, robes and slippers. If anyone should want to venture offsite, the town of Todmorden is but a mile away, with a thriving food offering.
