KOHIMA, JUL 6 (NPN): Three-day phonetics training for government school teachers in collaboration with Jolly Phonics U.K. organized by directorate of school education Kohima concluded on Wednesday at Zonal council hall Kohima. Addressing the trainees as guest of honour, additional secretary to the government of Nagaland, Kevishe

highlighted the importance of conducting such trainings for the teachers. He said the training has “opened the eyes” on the importance of phonetic which “our” people were not aware of. Stating that “English grammar” was about correct writing and speaking, Kevishe said education was incomplete without correction pronunciation. Asserting that educational system in the state

should also change with time, he said it needs to improve starting from the grass-root level. Kevishe then added that quality or complete education could be achieved by learning phonetics which he termed as the “other side of the coin in education.” H e t h e n ex p r e s s e d gratitude to the management of Jolly Phonics U.K. and the resource person Shainaz Jussa for the free phonetics text book to all

the government schools in Nagaland. Kevishe informed that the department has agreed in principle to continue with such training frequently in the coming days. To be successful in this mission, Shainaz Jussa said

the students need trained teachers and government support. In the prog ramme, Moayangla shared the experiences on behalf of Dimapur teachers and Abodi Neikha shared on behalf of Kohima district teachers. The valedictory programme was chaired by Vilvino. More than 50 government primary teachers participated from Dimapur and Kohima districts.

Id-ul-Fitr greetings

DIMAPUR: As Muslims around the world celebrate Id-ul-Fitr, various organisations across the state have wished the community on the occasion. MCD: Muslim Council Dimapur (MCD) has extended Idd greetings to all the citizens of Nagaland on the occasion of Id-ul-Fitr on July 7. MCD wished that the festival would bring lots of joy and happiness to the society as the holy month of prayer and fasting comes to an end with the celebration of Idd. Teh council has also thanked all the community members for peacefully observing the Holy month of Ramzan and pray to almighty Allah to usher a new era of prosperity, peace and unity and universal brotherhood among the different sections of people living in Nagaland. DDCF: Dimapur District Citizens Forum (DDCF) has extended Idd greetings to the Muslim community of Nagaland on the occasion of the celebration of Id-ul- Fitr after completion of a successful month of ‘Ramazan’. DDCF also hoped that the Almighty may shower His blessings on the citizens of Nagaland on this auspicious occasion, so that peace, tranquillity and unity prevail in the society. KMC: Kohima Masjid Committee (KMC) has extended heartiest greeting “eid

mubarak” to all the people of Nagaland along with the rest of the world. The festival of EID, which marks the end of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, the month of fasting and is a festival celebrated with lot of zeal where differences or enmity are forget and forgiven. KMC has also also informed that the festival Eid-ul-Fiter Namaz would be held at Assam Rifle Ground Kohima on July 7, 9 a.m. NPF Minority Wing: NPF minority Wing has extended greetings to the Muslim community of Nagaland and neighbouring areas on the happy and auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. NPF minority wing, further hoped that the occasion would be herald of sustained peace, progress, prosperity and happiness, amongst all. RCD: Rotaract Club of Dimapur (RCD) has extended greetings to the Muslim community of Dimapur in particular and Nagaland in general a happy and blessed Eid Mubarak. salhou Carolus as the main celebrant. The jubilee mass was concelebrated by Rev. Fr. John MP, Rev. Fr. R. Fernandes and Rev. Fr. George Rino. After the mass, a short felicitation programme was

meaningfully, the members prepared themselves well with the sacrament of reconciliation. Rev. Fr. Lawrence Khing prepared the members with his reflection for the sacrament and adoration.

GBUD endorses ACAUT demand on fuel racket issue

DIMAPUR: GB’s Union Dimapur (GBUD) has extended support to the demand raised by ACAUT to cancel permits of the fuel outlets allegedly found selling adulterated fuel saying it should be seriously considered so that people would desist from such crime in the future. In a press release, GBUD general secretary Yeheto Zhimomi

and finance secretary W. Kholie Kapfo also lauded ACAUT and Dimapur district administration for busting fuel adulteration racket within Dimapur district. GBUD also mentioned that because of such racket thousands of vehicle engines have been damaged (condemned) making huge losses in terms of economy.

It also stated that those people involved in the racket should be made accountable so that justice would prevail, thereby making people content in the rule of law. The union has urged upon the district administration to take stern action against the unscrupulous persons who have been involved in the racket.

NSS SCHE, GHSS Chumu conduct ‘cleanliness drive’

GBUD has also urged upon the right thinking citizen and organization to strongly condemn such acts. GBUD further reminded the general public especially GBs to be vigilant against anti social elements and communicate to the administration and law enforcing agencies to curb crimes in Dimapur.
