DIMAPUR: Three-day refresher course for Anganwadi workers of Wokha ICDS project got underway at Town Hall, Wokha, Tuesday. Gracing the inaugural function of the training ADC Wokha K. Thavaseelan IAS spoke on the importance of ICDS in moulding the child’s
future. He also stressed that anganwadi workers form the core of the ICDS, therefore should work tirelessly to ensure that its objectives were achieved. Thavaseelan said that anganwadi workers being the third member of the fam-
ily of the child should ensure the welfare of the child as her own and should also have a very good relationship with the other department functionaries like ASHA, ANM to optimize development of the child. Altogether, 103 AWW are attending the three-day programme.

CNWW NSCN/GPRN informs
DIMAPUR: Chakesang National Workers Welfare (CNWW) NSCN/GPRN has informed that owing to “unavoidable circumstances” it could not attend the Tenyemia national workers meeting held on July 16 except for its two “ex-communicated” members. CNWW NSCN/GPRN claimed that Kewekope Mero and Venuzo Zholia had in their own written statement on March 18, 2016, declared not to participate in any welfare activities of Chakesang national workers. Free medical camp at Aoyimti
DIMAPUR: A free medical camp was conducted for Aoyimti village Dimapur on July 23 by Lopngchen development welfare society aided by HQ 3 corps, Rangapahar, HQ 6 sector AR and 32 AR. The medical camp was led by CMO of 32 AR, Lt. Col (DR.) Rajesh Kumar with specialist from district hospital, Dimapur and assisted by nurses from sub centre, Aoyimti and nurses from AR. An outlet was opened for the benefit of the villagers by CSD and ARWA. Free prescription and drugs was also provided to the patient.
Tree plantation drive in Tseminyu DIMAPUR: Ehunnu & Yikhanu Students’ Union (E&YSU) in collaboration with Forestr y Graduate Associations of Nagaland (FGAN) organized a plantation drive on July 23 at Ehunnu and Yikhanu villages under Tseminyu subdivision, Kohima district.The saplings were provided by the Kohima range office, forest department. The plantation drive was initiated by Ehunnu & Yikhanu Students’ Union and Forestry Graduate Associations of Nagaland along with the volunteers from village council and churches of both Ehunnu and Yikhanu villages. Altogether 40 volunteers participated in the plantation drive.

DIMAPUR: In a follow-up investigation related on assault of youths at Kevijau Colony, Dimapur police has arrested the other two absconders, said additional deputy commissioner of police and PRO in a press statement. According to PRO, the arrested persons were identified as Jessi Zhimomi son of
