Raj Bhavan observes Netaji’s birth anniv

According to PRO Raj Bhavan, governor said that Netaji led the armed struggle to free India and valiant INA fought British imperialist forces at Kohima to free the country. Acharya expressed desire that it was high time to recognise the immense contribution of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose towards independence of India and have a befitting memorial in Kohima in honour of Netaji and the brave soldiers of INA who sacrificed their lives for independence in the battle at Kohima hill in 1945. At the programme, the commissioner & secretary to governor, Piyush Goel, gave a brief account of Governor, PB Acharya, paying floral tribute in front of Netaji’s life and activities. DIMAPUR: Operation Clean Wokha which was launched on April 23, 2016 has yielded its first year results with final inspection carried out on December 4, 2016. A press note from Team Metamorphosis president, Thungdemo Kyong stated that since inception of Operation Clean Wokha, the Team Metamorphoses (TM) had been monitoring the implementation of the programme. During the final inspection on December 4, the marks were given on the basis of area coverage

and consistency of efforts rendered by the colonies/ institutions. It stated that after thorough assessment, the winners for the 2016 Operation Clean Wokha were declared as: For the colonies: Suren colony was adjudged as the best colony followed by Molonsu and Upper Zuvotong colony in the second and third place respectively. KIPHIRE, JAN 25 (NPN): United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC) held its 69th annual standing committee session on January 24 at Old Risethsi Village under the theme “evolving ebulliently with elitist” with superintendent of police Kiphire, Ben Longkumer as the speaker. Speaking at the programme, Longkumer appreciated the activities of USSC and encouraged the student community to be catalyst for change. DIMAPUR: Nagaland, along with other states in India would hold 1st round of Intensive Pulse Polio Immunisation (IPPI) on Sunday, January 29. The department of Health & Family Welfare has informed that the department is all geared up to administer Polio drops to over 2.3 lakh eligible children from 0-5 years throughout the state in 2296 Polio Booths to be manned by 9184 health personnel and 459 supervisors along with vaccines and other logistics. It has informed that special focus would be given to migrant population with an aim to prevent importation of Polio cases.
