BRO undertakes plantation drive
BRO personnel during the plantation drive on August 17.
DIMAPUR: Plantation drive was organised by HQ 15 BRTF and its allied Units, C/o Project Sewak, in Nagaland at Kohima, Zubza, Maram and Mon on August 17. Plantation drive would become an annual affair from this year. Hundreds of trees were planted across various locations of Border Roads deployment/Estt on this day.
The trees planted were mainly fruits like guava, mango, etc for shade and ornamental nature. The trees were planted across the road side and in the office and living area of BRO personnel. All officers, supervisors and other personnel of HQ 15 BRTF actively participated in the programme. The drive intends to create
social awareness about importance of trees and the concept of living in harmony with nature and to inculcate environment friendly nature not only to BRO personnel but also people living around and adjacent to its location. It also intend to cut down on the negative impact of deforestation and chopping down of trees.
