President’s Message
by Nathan Wittman CAFS, NCT
The filtration industry and our personal lives have been greatly changed over the past year and half. Today, facilities nationally and globally recognize the importance of clean air and the critical role filtration plays as a component of healthy environments. NAFA continues to work toward our mission as The Global Source for Expertise, Education, & Best Practices in Air Filtration. Even with the challenges in our world, this is a very exciting time to be working within the air filtration industry. The value of the products our manufacturer and distributor member companies provide offer reliable solutions to current and relevant facility challenges. I hope you take pride in your work and understand the knowledge and training you obtain through both your company and NAFA contributes greatly to your role as an important part in the global solution. The NAFA board and committees have been hard at work updating guidelines, developing new best practices, and completing the recently released updated NAFA Guide to Filtration. Our organization continues to add new membership as we see unprecedented growth in demand for filtration products and regulatory efforts to include filtration solutions within facilities. NAFA is uniquely positioned with expertise in broad environmental applications, all of which continue to grow daily in importance. NAFA is excited to see everyone at the upcoming annual meeting in Clearwater, Florida, November 2 – 4. This is a tremendous opportunity to gain valuable knowledge, best practices, and current information related to both air filtration

and clean environments. This conference will include expanded opportunities for vendor interaction with attendees. The sessions and speakers that have been selected by the conference planning committee cover a broad range of topics that will be valuable to each of our businesses. Our keynote session, as well as the overall focus of the conference, will include current guidance from ASHRAE and recommendations that pertain to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. A panel discussion will include market trends and updates on specific air filtration segments. Looking to the future of clean air, training will include new technological advances in sensor technology with a focus on how data will shape our future product decisions. While we recognize the commitment it takes to travel to and attend a conference, we have worked hard to develop an agenda that provides exceptional value for your business. I look forward to your attendance and participation and welcome the opportunity to share how we have each experienced this difficult time. Please know that our management staff, NAFA Executive Officers, and the Board of Directors are committed to hosting a safe event. I look forward to seeing you in Florida. In the meantime, stay healthy and safe. NAFA appreciates your commitment to the organization. ■
