NORTH AMERICAN COUNCIL OF AUTOMOTIVE TEACHERS

Officer and Board Update

Chairman of the Board

Welcome to the 2015-2016 NACAT membership year! If you were able to join us in Joliet this summer for the NACAT Conference, THANK YOU! Curt Ward and his JJC team truly organized a first class conference. And with Curt assuming the role of NACAT President, I feel that we will see even more of his dedication and passion for excellence poured into NACAT as an organization. If you weren’t able to come to the Joliet conference, we look forward to seeing you next July at San Jacinto College in Pasadena, Texas. I am pleased and honored to serve as the chairperson of the NACAT Board this year. Many of you have met me already at one of the NACAT Conferences. But if we have not had a chance to meet yet, or even if we have, here are a few things about me you may not know: • • • •

I have over 20 years experience in the Automotive Industry I represent one of NACAT’s “minority” groups (members under age 40) I have a hidden passion for classic V-drive ski boats from the 60’s and 70’s I am a huge NASCAR fan

So where is NACAT headed? The board and officers are concentrated on streamlining our operations, and becoming a more efficient organization. For example, for many years, the day-to-day business of running the organization was handled by our board members, officers, and other volunteer members. Last year, we made a decision to hire our Business Manager, Bill Haas. Bill has a wealth of experience and knowledge in the automotive industry, running and advising companies and trade organizations. This year, you will see much of the day-to-day NACAT business affairs transition to the NACAT office. This will free up the officers and board members so they can concentrate on steering NACAT on its path toward the future. When the board and officers met during the NACAT Conference this past July, we spent a good portion of our time discussing a “strategic plan” for NACAT. When in place, this plan will be kind of like a road map, illustrating where NACAT wants to go, how it will get there, and when we want to arrive at our destination. Much like an actual road trip, of course there are things we want to make sure we do along the way. Membership recruitment and retention, name recognition, and keeping NACAT a relevant resource in our industry are each stops that we will address along our route. Come along on this journey with us! We are taking NACAT into the future, and the trip starts now. Maybe you know of something important we should stop and see along the way? Let one of the board members or officers know! Get to know us, ask questions, be interactive! We are merely the wheels on this car; we are making this trip on your behalf, to deliver you a better NACAT.

Officer and Board Update Fellow Members,

NACAT President

As I write this letter, summer is coming to a close and we have turned our attention back to school and our students. As I begin my term as your NACAT president, I am very excited about the future of our organization and the impact we can make on our industry. I want to begin by thanking everyone who was a part of the 2015 conference at Joliet Junior College this past July. So many people and organizations were part of making this a great event. Thank you to our sponsors; your generosity allowed us to come together to learn. A special thank you to Jack Erjavec, Jim Halderman, and Tim Gilles for sponsoring the family events and the social activities. Thank you to all the presenters. Your uncompensated time and effort preparing and presenting your particular area of expertise allowed us to take lots of great information back to our classrooms. Thank you to all the participants in the trade show. We truly appreciate being able to see the latest in information and technology that is available for our classrooms. I want to offer a special word of thanks to my wife Tammy. She worked tirelessly to make sure the family members had a great conference and she spent countless hours on work behind the scenes. We could not have done it without her. If you missed out on the conference, we look forward to seeing you next year in Texas. The NACAT Board and Officers have been working hard over the last year to begin to implement changes that will ensure NACAT will be a relevant factor in the automotive teacher education world for a long time to come. Two of those changes include all of our business is now being run through the national office in Texas and the organization will play a bigger role in helping the host school put on a great conference. I am looking forward to leading this group in the coming year as we work to continue this momentum. That being said, the NACAT Board and Officers cannot operate alone. We need member participation, input and feedback. Consider taking the next step and making a difference by running for an elected position. Lastly, I want to challenge each of you to help NACAT grow its membership. Find someone who is not currently a member. Share the benefits of being a member and encourage them to join. It wasn’t that many years ago when I attended my first conference and became acquainted with this incredibly talented group of teachers that I can now call my friends. Collectively, our efforts will help the organization grow. Have a great fall semester. I look forward to seeing everyone in Pasadena, Texas next July.

Officer and Board Update

Business Manager

How was your summer?

As school is back in session and I’m waking up to cooler air in the mornings, I thought it would be appropriate to reflect on the summer that is about to end. I don’t know about you, but my summer went way too fast. I have to tell you I had a very enjoyable summer and the highlight was the NACAT Conference in Joliet. Thanks to Curt Ward and his tremendous team at Joliet Junior College, the NACAT Conference was a huge success. As I spent the week in Joliet, my experience was far different than that of our member attending the conference. Mine includes the opportunity to see how NACAT really works. I have the honor of participating in the board of directors meeting that signals the start of the Conference. In Joliet this was not your typical board meeting. This board meeting included a much needed strategic planning session. The strategic session was led by Steve Gibson. Steve did a great job of keeping the discussion focused and the group on task to define clear goals for NACAT to achieve in the coming months and years. By the way, Steve is the new chair of the board of directors: His reward for a job well done on leading the strategic planning session. This was the last board meeting for Officers Rob Thompson and Chuck Ginther and board members Julia Johnson and Tim Dwyer. A special thanks to each of them for taking time out of their busy schedules to share their experience and talent with NACAT. Now NACAT welcomes new officers Patrick Brown-Harrison and Randy Nussler and board members Mike Richards and Rick Martineau to the board of directors. The board is ready for your ideas, perspectives and suggestions to influence positive results and growth. Following the board meeting, the week was filled with education, social events, networking, family activities, a trade show, a silent auction to benefit the NACAT Education Foundation and an awards banquet. At the banquet NACAT honors the hard work and special achievements of many. For me it was truly special to see Craig and Deb Van Batenburg of ACDC receive the “Friend of NACAT” award for their long time support and commitment to helping NACAT. I have known Craig and Deb for over thirty years and appreciate a personal friendship with them. In other words the week was filled with friends. In many cases close friends we don’t see often enough. You see we are in the people business and I thank you for the opportunity to work with the best people in the business. I can’t wait for next summer to see my friends again. It is only ten months away!

Curt Ward Named 2015 NACAT MVP Curt Ward, an educator at Joliet Junior College, the 2015 NACAT Conference host, a former NACAT secretary, and the current NACAT President, was named NACAT MVP by President Rob Thompson at the 2015 NACAT Conference in Joliet, Illinois. Regarding the naming of Mr. Ward as MVP, President Thompson states: Curt Ward has been with NACAT since 2008. Prior to NACAT, he worked as a tech, a shop foreman, service manager, and as a technical trainer for one of the big three. Since then he has taught at Joliet Junior College.

2013-2015 NACAT President Rob Thompson (left) presents the 2015 NACAT MVP Award to Curt Ward during the 42nd annual NACAT Conference.

During his time with NACAT, he has served as Secretary, Vice President/Presidentelect, and Conference VP. As many of you know, the role of conference VP is more than a full time job in itself. He has, through tremendous ability, knowledge, and commitment, not only put together a fantastic conference, but played a major role in the running of NACAT and helping to make NACAT a better, more efficient, organization.

I am proud to have presented the 2015 NACAT MVP award to Curt Ward. If you can, be sure to tell Curt congratulations when you see him next July in Pasadena, Texas.

A Note From the Previous President: Farewell, I Will See You Next Year! It’s hard to believe that my term as NACAT president has come to an end. I hope that I have been able to leave NACAT a little better than when I started. I’d like to thank all of the NACAT members for their support and confidence in me during my term. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve as your president. During the last two years, we had Dan Perrin retire (a great loss to NACAT) and we hired Bill Haas to take on the role of business manager, a position that has since had several other duties assigned to it. Because of Bill’s experience and knowledge, his role will now also include that of conference vice-president. Adding Bill as conference VP will allow NACAT to improve its ability to support future conferences by maintaining a single point of contact for all NACAT and conference business. At the conference in Joliet, a new NACAT treasurer, Randy Nussler of South Pugett Sound Community College in Olympia Washington, was elected. Patrick Brown-Harrison was elected to the position of Vice-President/President-elect, a role in which Patrick has previously served. Elected to the board this year was Rick Martineau from SAIT, Mike Richards from the College of the Redwoods in Eureka, California, and Tim Isaac from Foothills Composite High School in Okotoks, Alberta was re-elected to the board. Regretfully, our board chair, Julia Johnson, resigned from the NACAT board during the conference. Julia brought an energy to the board that will be missed. Russ Ferguson was appointed by the board to finish out Julia’s term until the 2016 conference. Steve Gibson was elected NACAT board chair for 2015 - 2016. Steve has taken a very active role as board member over the last several years and will continue to move NACAT forward and a better organization. If you missed the conference in Joliet, you missed an excellent one. Curt Ward and the staff at Joliet Junior College did a fantastic job at hosting this year. The school facilities were outstanding as were all activities and the variety of sessions offered. Thanks to Curt, Tammy, and the staff at JJC for making NACAT 2015 a great conference. As good as the 2015 conference was however, NACAT 2016 will be hard to beat, at least to a space nerd such as myself. Mark Deschner of San Jacinto College gave a preview of the 2016 conference. San Jacinto College is located in Pasadena, Texas, on the outskirts of Houston. My wife and I are already planning our trip to take advantage of the history and activities in the area and we look forward to seeing you there.

Rob Thompson

The Relationship Between Personality Type And Learning Style: A Study Of Automotive Technology Students (Part I) By: Mark D. Threeton & Richard A. Walter, The Pennsylvania State University

Abstract In an effort to provide career and technical education (CTE) professionals with additional insight on how to better meet the individual education needs of the learner, this study (a) sought to identify the predominant personality type of postsecondary automotive technology students and (b) examined whether there was a relationship between the participants’ predominant personality classifications and learning styles. The findings suggested that the majority of participants had a predominantly Realistic personality classification, and identified a relationship between personality type and learning style. Findings may be useful to CTE teachers and teacher educators interested in diversifying curriculum and instruction via strategies to enhance the educational experience for the student learner. Introduction Historical Perspectives Throughout our educational pursuits, many have had a teacher from whom it was difficult to learn. It may have been trouble understanding an educational subject that didn’t particularly correspond with one’s personality, or it may have been a pedagogy related issue. According to Gardner, (1999) educators tend to teach the way they were taught. Moreover, Jonassen (1981) identified that a strong relationship exists between a teacher’s learning style and preferred teaching style. Unfortunately, there is not a “one-size fits all” approach to teaching and or learning (Jorgensen, 2006). Thus, this creates a mismatch that requires attention. “It is clear that a learning style body of knowledge has been accepted into the education literature and professional development agenda since the 1980s” (Hickcox, 2006, p. 4). A large portion of past research has focused on identifying learning styles, personality types, intelligence and adaptive strategies of teaching to meet the learning needs of students Learning style research has also provided valuable insight regarding the relationship between personality type and learning style. However, this research does not in most cases specifically align with a CTE setting. For this reason, it may be difficult to fully comprehend the relevance of personality and learning style literature to CTE without highlighting the related research. Over the years, a majority of studies have examined the relationship between personality and learning via the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). One such study by Fallan (2006) suggested that a student’s personality type relates to the most effective form of learning and if ignored can present a conflict in the educational process. Another study conducted by Highhouse and Doverspike (1987) examined the relationship between measures of cognitive style (i.e., learning style), occupational preference (i.e., personality type) and learning modes of 111 psychology students (48 males and 63 females) at the university level utilizing Kolb’s Learning Style Inventory (LSI), the Group Embedded Figures Test (GEFT) and Holland’s Vocational Preference Inventory (VPI). With the means, standard deviations, and intercorrelations measured, the results of this study revealed no significant correlations between the LSI and the GEFT. However, there were correlations found between Kolb’s LSI and Holland’s VPI which parallels the Self-Directed-Search (SDS) instrument. Kolb’s Concrete Experience (CE) scale significantly correlated with Holland’s Artistic (A) personality type. Kolb’s Active Experimentation (AE) scale significantly correlated with Holland’s Realistic (R), Social (S), Conventional (C) and Enterprising (E) personality types. Furthermore, Kolb’s Reflective Observation (RO) scale significantly negatively correlated with Holland’s R, C and E personality types. Finally, Kolb’s Abstract Conceptualization (AC) did not correlate with any of Holland’s personality types. A similar study conducted by Penney and Cahill (2002) examined the work personality and learning style of 60 adult male correctional institution parolees on the Avalon Peninsula of Newfoundland utilizing Holland’s SDS (Form E), Kolb’s LSI and a Career Counseling Preferences Questionnaire (CCPQ). The results revealed: (a) a positive relationship between the LSI and the CCPQ Thinker score; (b) Holland’s Investigative (I) personality type was positively correlated with Kolb’s AC and AC - CE score; (c) Holland’s I personality type was negatively correlated with Kolb’s AE score; (d) Holland’s A personality type was found to be negatively correlated with Kolb’s RO score; and (e) Holland’s C personality type was negatively correlated with Kolb’s AE and AE - RO score. Penney and Cahill were forthcoming in identifying that “none of the significant correlations found by Highhouse and Doverspike between the LSI styles and Holland type were replicated in this study” (p. 33).

These Troubleshooting Trainers begin with the H-111A(S) shown at the left. They are completely constructed circuit boards that snap together to simulate a live vehicle circuit. Using a Training Workbook, H-WB111A (Revised), a student is guided through a series of circuit voltage tests, voltage drop tests and resistance measurements to learn how to test a live vehicle circuit using a DMM. This focuses electrical training time on actual testing of circuits rather than consuming valuable training time building circuits to test. Once a technician understands essential circuit measurement skills with a DMM, the Instructor Guide, H-IG01/02A, explains how to insert electrical problems on the bottom of the circuit boards. Then the student troubleshoots from the top of the circuit boards while documenting his troubleshooting steps in the Student Workbook, H-WB111A, to compare with answers provided in the instructor guide. Problems are inserted in seconds at various points in the voltage side or the ground side of the circuit to keep technicians busy troubleshooting. By removing a wire jumper on the bottom, an open circuit is created at some point in the circuit. By inserting a fixed resistor a voltage drop problem is created. Inserting wire jumpers at various points create shorts to ground. Technicians learn to successfully troubleshoot vehicle electrical-electronic circuits by doing it rather than watching someone else do it or just by talking about it. Technicians successfully troubleshoot electrical problems by themselves, over and over 32 times until they get it right and electrical circuit troubleshooting becomes second nature. Students practice hands-on troubleshooting a live circuit with real problems to develop self-confidence. Convince students they can troubleshoot vehicle electrical circuit problems. The benefits of this electrical troubleshooting training will last for the rest of their careers. It’s a great way to master electrical troubleshooting skills as students become confident electrical circuit troubleshooters who won’t troubleshoot by changing parts but first troubleshoot by testing a circuit with a DMM to identify a problem. The student below is troubleshooting a problem and recording troubleshooting steps with DMM readings in the student workbook to be reviewed later. The Starter Kit: Part # H-111A(S) is the first set of troubleshooting trainer circuit boards with step-by-step troubleshooting training. Each Starter Kit contains the two Troubleshooting Trainers shown at the left; Power Board, H-PCB01A and Lamp Board, H-PCB02A. Each H111A(S) is purchased without books. A bag of fixed resistors for inserting problems is included. Student workbooks are purchase separately, as well as the Instructor Guide, H-IG01/02A and Power Point. Other trainers to The Starter Kit include trainers for H-113(S) DC Motor Circuit Troubleshooting, H-115(S) Troubleshooting Relay Circuits, H-116(S) Wire Harness Troubleshooting and H200(S) CAN Bus Troubleshooting.. Each trainer connects to the Starter Kit’s Power Board and Power Supply.

Live circuit repetitive troubleshooting is the only way to learn and develop electrical troubleshooting skills!

Another noteworthy study, somewhat related to CTE, conducted by Ritchie (1975) sought to determine if there was a relationship between personality type and the learning style of nursing students and registered nurses via the MBTI and the Media Effectiveness Chart (MEC). The MEC instrument was utilized within this study to correlate preferred instructional media (learning style) with the Jungian personality types. The study findings suggested that there was a relationship between personality and learning and that nursing education programs should be structured to accommodate student development and educational needs. Moreover, Ritchie found that the majority of participants represented within this study were of the Sensing type. Thus, they were identified as needing specific objectives spelled out for learning and evaluation. The results of this study further suggested that the majority of nursing students and registered nurses preferred lecture, discussion, small group work, reading articles, and laboratory work as methods of teaching. The aforementioned studies have served to highlight the research conducted on the relationship between personality and learning style. While the related literature does not specifically align with a CTE setting, educators within the profession should take this information seriously as comprehending learning style and personality type characteristics has the ability to enhance the educational experience for the learner. There are several themes that can be observed by examining the related personality and learning style literature. First, a relationship between personality and learning style has been identified in select educational settings. Second, the majority of studies, which found a relationship between personality and learning style, used the MBTI. Third, besides the study conducted by Ritchie (1975) on nursing students and registered nurses, research on the relationship between personality and learning styles in CTE is virtually nonexistent. Thus, research on the relationship between personality and learning style within an educational setting such as the trade and industry sector of CTE could yield valuable data regarding how to better meet the educational needs of students in preparing them for the world-of-work. Statement of the Problem According to Gardner (1999), teachers tend to teach the way they were taught. Jonassen (1981) identified that a strong relationship exists between a teacher’s learning style and preferred teaching style. These critical findings present a problem that requires attention as we do not all come from the same mold in regard to our specific learning style or personality. Hickcox (2006) suggested that all learning style research and application efforts need to stress the development of the individual and the whole learner. Learning styles, as well as personalities should be accounted for when considering the topic of curriculum development and instruction. With the overload of curricular assessment demands, and a vast amount of learning style models, educators may find themselves in a state of confusion regarding the use of learning style models in the classroom (Hickcox, 2006). This phenomenon creates a problem that requires attention. Continued on page 38

NACAT Education Foundation Silent Auction Raises $3258.49! The annual NACAT Education Foundation silent auction raised $3258.49 in bids and donations during the trade show at the 42nd annual NACAT Conference in Joliet, Illinois. We could not have raised these funds without your help, THANK YOU! Your generosity ensures that the Foundation can fund its New Teacher Award and Host School Student Scholarship in 2015. 2015 was great year for the silent auction. We had 68 individual bidders and nearly 50 donors! A few donors were anonymous, so we won’t be able to give them a tax receipt or the proper recognition they deserve. All donors will have their names listed on the NACAT Education Foundation website. All companies which donated will have their logo placed on a special site page. It is the least we can do to say THANK YOU! We would also like to take a moment to thank our auction volunteers. Their willingness to be the “boots on the ground” at the trade show was very appreciated, especially as the Foundation Executive Director was unable to personally oversee the event this year. Tax receipts for auction donations are mailing at this writing. Please contact us at office@nacatfoundation.org if you do not receive one for your donation. Looking ahead, please let us know if you can think of anything you would like to see us try to get donated for the 2016 silent auction. We will once again be putting together packages of tickets, certificates, and products from various companies. Our goal is to create a basket from each state and province. We also look forward to seeing the generous donations the members, and their families, once again provide.

Thanking An Industry Friend (Part 12 of Many) If you have ever visited http://www.nacat.org you would have noticed NACAT’s mission statement. “NACAT’s mission is to promote, update and improve automotive service education. It is the ongoing goal of NACAT to develop and maintain a strong professional organization that will serve the needs of automotive educators in public and private enterprise throughout North America.” Over the years NACAT and the NACAT Education Foundation have worked diligently to guarantee that this mission is upheld to ensure professional and personal development and growth. Without you, both the NACAT membership and industry partners, this would not be possible. We would like to share with you one example of how our industry partners help us to better serve our members. This will be a continuing theme in future issues of NACAT News with a different partner being recognized in each of the upcoming issues. We do not do this to single out any one partner above or beyond another – we do this to have an additional way to thank our many generous industry supporters. This issue we would like to recognize Fluid Power Training InstituteTM (FPTITM). FPTITM is a long-time NACAT industry friend which has historically exhibited and provided numerous presentations at the NACAT Conference. Supportive once again in 2015, FPTITM exhibited at the conference and freely provided three seminar titles, taught by Rory McClaren. In addition, FPTITM stepped-up their advertising within NACAT News. Their continued support, both financially and educationally, helps NACAT to be able to provide quality information and training opportunities to its membership. We encourage you to join us at the 2016 NACAT Conference at San Jacinto College in Pasadena, Texas. While there you will be able to earn your 20 hours of professional development and be able to connect with NACAT’s industry friends. Each year many companies go a long way to make a difference for you. Please help us show them that their contributions, no matter how large or small, are appreciated and that their backing, whether new or long-term, is appreciated.

Please check back in the Winter 2016 issue to see another of our great Industry Friends recognized.

Looking Back at the 42nd Annual Conference

Valve Cover Races Symbolize What Makes NACAT Great! By: Jimmy Dinsmore, ConsuLab

NACAT is a great educational AND family-friendly event. Nothing epitomizes this more than the annual valve cover car races. Instructors (and their family members) build cars out of valve covers. This gets their creative juices flowing, and also puts their automotive knowledge to test. Some of the elaborate paint jobs and decorations were quite creative, and showed how much time was put into building these cars. Many of the instructors take it very seriously, making adjustments, eyeing the competition and even involving their students in the competition. “If you’ve never heard of valve cover racing, then you owe it to yourself to attend a NACAT conference and watch a great bunch of gear heads become child-like by racing car parts they have made go fast,” said Tim Dwyer, of ConsuLab, who has won the race three years in a row. “Our wives and children even compete because it’s that much fun and they want in on it!” During this year’s NACAT Conference at Joliet Junior College several instructor’s spouses and children submitted valve cover cars to compete. Two well-crafted valve cover racers compete at the 2015 NACAT International Valve Cover Invitational.

The students and staff at Joliet Winners Rejoice! International Valve Cover Junior College built an amazing Champion Tim Dwyer (standing with arms track for the cars to race down. raised) celebrates with the younger generation After a fantastic barbecue Tuesday of racers. night, hundreds gathered in the JCC shop area to watch the competitors, both adults and children, race their cars down the track. It’s competitive, but not too serious. The entire event showcases one aspect of what makes a NACAT Conference the premier event for the automotive education industry: education with a little bit of family-oriented fun built in. Who doesn’t love hearing the kids gathered around the track in anticipation, giving the countdown for the competitors to launch their cars down the track?

We had several photo finishes due to the competitive valve cover cars submitted this year. We had more participants than ever before. In the end, Tim Dwyer won in the adult segment, and was also the overall winner. Daniel Boden, son of ConsuLab President Kevin Boden, won the kids’ segment. But everyone who participated and attended was the real winner from this funfilled event as a good time was had by all!

While several studies have examined the relationship between learning style and personality type, few have examined the trade and industry sector of CTE. Thus, this study sought to determine whether a relationship exists between the personality type and learning style of postsecondary automotive technology students. This topic was examined for the purpose of providing more information regarding how to better serve the educational needs in preparing this student population for the world-of-work. Thus, this study sought to answer the following questions: 1. What is the predominant personality type of postsecondary automotive technology students? 2. Is there a relationship between the postsecondary automotive technology student predominant personality type and their learning style? Theoretical Framework The theoretical framework that was used for this research study included Holland’s Theory of Vocational Personalities and Environment and Kolb’s Experiential Learning Theory (ELT). While most closely associated with the career development domain of education, John Holland’s Theory of Vocational Personalities and Environments is one of the most popular and effective career development models to date. Holland’s Theory (1997) explained that personalities and occupational environments can be classified into six different categories (Realistic (R), Investigative (I), Artistic (A), Social (S), Enterprising (E), and Conventional (C)) thus, individuals search for an environment in which to express their interest, abilities and values (see Figure 1).

Holland identified that people, in most cases, cannot be classified as a pure type but rather are a combination of two or three. Holland’s Theory naturally aligned with this study as the research examined both an occupational area (i.e., automotive technology) and personality type. One of the most popular instruments used to identify an individual’s personality and environmental type based on Holland’s Theory is the Self-Directed-Search (SDS). The SDS is a self-administered, scored and interpreted educational assessment tool, which attempts to identify a three-letter code in order to determine the personality and environmental type which best represents interests, abilities and values of the individual (Holland, 1971). The second theory that served as a foundation for this research study was Kolb’s ELT (1984). Kolb’s ELT (2005b) identified two dialectically related modes of grasping experience: Concrete Experience (CE) and Abstract Conceptualization (AC) and two dialectically modes of transforming experience: Reflective Observation (RO), Active Experimentation (AE). Thus, based on the preferences for one of the polar opposites of each of the aforementioned modes appears four learning styles including: Converging, Diverging, Assimilating and Accommodating (Evans, Forney & Guido-Dibrito, 1998) (see Figure 2). Kolb’s ELT naturally aligns with this study as the research focused on the learning style of postsecondary automotive technology students. Kolb’s ETL uses an instrument known as the Learning Style Inventory (LSI) to assess individual learning style. The LSI is set up in a simple format, which usually provides an interesting self-examination, and discussion that identifies valuable information regarding the individual’s approaches to Figure 2. Kolb’s learning styles (Chapman, 2006) learning (Kolb & Kolb, 2005b).

To Be Continued Next Issue: What was the Methodology? Thank You Jack Erjavec, Tim Gilles, and Jim Halderman! The attendees of NACAT 2015, and their families, would like to thank Jack Erjavec, Tim Gilles, and Jim Halderman for their generous donations which allowed for many great family events and social activities. Everything you have done and continue to do for the organization, the members, and each member’s family is greatly appreciated.
