Hello Birdie!

It was a bright and sunny Saturday morning.

Myna woke up early.

She looked around and saw Mom and Dad still sleeping.

Usually Saturdays were very lazy days in her house.

Everyone woke up late, especially her brothers. “I am the only one who wakes up on time�, She thought.

Good morning birdie..! not singing ??

The house was quiet. Myna did not know what to do, so she walked around the house.

She decided to sit in the balcony till everyone woke up.

From the balcony, she could see the morning sun, a few canary birds sitting on the tree and a flock of birds flying in the sky.

La...la…la…

After a late breakfast, Dad called her for a bath. It was Dad’s duty to bathe her.

Myna loved her bath days as Dad. Dad gave her treats after the bath.

Myna followed Dad to the bathroom.

She enjoyed playing and splashing the water in the tub.

Dad massaged her with her special dog shampoo.

Mom liked the smell of her shampoo. Dad said Mom could not use it, as it was only for dogs.

After the bath, Dad used a dryer to blow-dry her fur. It took a long time to dry her. Both Dad and Myna had to be be patient. Dad brushed her fur to remove the knots. Myna did not like this.

But then, she thought about the treat she would get, and sat quietly for Dad to brush her.

Myna needed a long nap after the bath.

Usually on Saturday evenings she went to the big beautiful park with her parents. It had a stream, dog run area, playground and picnic spots.

When Myna woke up in the evening, Dad and Mom were ready to go to the park.

Myna liked to walk in the park meeting people and other dogs.

Dad and Mom took her to the Dog Run Area where she could play with other dogs of her size.

Myna did not look forward to playing with them. She preferred to play with the aunties and uncles there. Mom said Myna likes humans only.

A few dogs chased Myna, and she did not like it. She hid behind the big tree.

Myna had some favourite spots in the park, where she liked to sit and watch people.

She liked to cross the stream by stepping on the rocks. Her paws got wet in the water.

On rainy days, the water flowed faster, and nobody could walk across the stream.

Then Myna sat on the bridge and watched the fishes and turtles swimming in the stream below.

Myna was sitting on the bench with Mom and Dad. She saw so many people looking down the bridge. She alerted Dad.

Dad said they are looking at a family of Otters.

She was curious to know what was happening.

She went to the side of the stream to take a closer look. There she saw some energetic and playful Otters. They were catching and eating fishes. It was an Otter family consisting of two parents and three pups. They were white and black in colour, bigger than fishes and even bigger than Myna.

Myna had never seen Otters before. They looked cute and furry.

bye! bye!

Activities in the park kept Myna busy. It was getting dark.

Dad said, “Myna, let us say bye to Otters and go home�.

We were all tired by then. We walked home happily.

It was an evening full of fun and excitement. Myna dreamed of going to the park next week. She thanked her parents for a wonderful Saturday and went to bed.
