Mom and Myna were invited for a Wedding. It was Myna’s first time receiving an invitation.

Planning for the wedding

Mom made a list of things to do to prepare for the wedding.

She was busy making appointments to visit the saloon and the puppy parlour.

Mom took out all the clothes in the wardrobe searching for some nice clothes to wear.

Myna followed Mom around, wondering why she was in such a hurry.

Mom, why are you so busy‌?

Myna felt lonely and disappointed. When Mom noticed Myna’s sad face she sat with her and explained to her, “Myna, a wedding is a happy occasion, where we can dress up and look pretty.”

We both need a hairdo…

Myna felt better and imagined both of them wearing matching dresses.

When she looked at herself in the mirror, she realised she had long claws and untidy fur. She noticed Mom too had rough skin and untidy hair.

Myna had to go for grooming and Mom had to go to the beautician.

Mom made appointments for Saturday.

On Saturday afternoon, Mom drove Myna to the “Puppy Parlour” for grooming.

Welcome, Myna..

Myna was scared about going to unfamiliar places.

At the front door of the Puppy Parlour, they were greeted by “Pepper”, the Poodle.

He was friendly and gentle.

Myna felt relieved.

Mom requested “Teddy cut” for Myna.

Tony, the groomer took Myna inside for grooming.

He said Myna would be ready in two hours.

Two hours later, Mom came directly from the beautician to pick up Myna.

Take me home…

Mom had a new haircut and she looked pretty with glowing skin.

Mom was happy to see Myna in her new Teddy cut.

Mom said, “Myna, you look beautiful”.

Myna was delighted to see Mom and wanted to go home as soon as possible.

The wedding was on Sunday morning.

Mom and Myna woke up early in the morning to get ready.

Mom dressed Myna in a yellow cotton outfit.

Queen and Princess !

Mom wore a matching yellow dress.

Both looked pretty in their yellow outfits.

They set out for the wedding.

It was a beautiful Sunday morning with blue sky and gentle breeze.

The wedding was held in a fruit garden.

It was an outdoor wedding.

When they reached the venue, Myna noticed a big dog running in the garden. It was “Mellow”, the Golden Retriever.

I am going to get that cat…

The bride was holding a black “Persian Cat” in her hand. The cat was very pretty and shy.

The Groom was holding a white “Dove”.

Mom and Myna sat together with Aunty Lily and her pet “Coffee”.

Coffee was gentle and playful.

Myna liked her company.

They played together on the grass.

While everyone was talking and enjoying, they heard a “THUD” sound followed by barking.

A tablecloth with all the tableware had dropped on the floor….with glasses broken and plates crushed.

There was pin-drop silence.

Guests looked at each other with astonishment. To make the atmosphere pleasant, a soothing and cheerful music was played, and the happy mood was created again.

It was obvious that Mellow was the culprit.

Mellow was the bride’s pet dog.

The Bride and the Groom were used to his mischiefs.

They had expected such behaviour from him and were prepared.

Did anyone see me…?

After lunch, Mom and Myna walked in the fruit garden with Coffee and her Mom.

Let’s catch the butterfly‌

Myna and Coffee climbed on a Guava tree and chased butterflies.

They had lots of fun.

Before they went home, there was a photo shoot for all the pets including Mellow.

When the photoshoot was about to begin, Mellow barked at the cat.

The cat ran away and climbed on the mango tree.

It was the first time Myna had gone for a wedding and she had so many stories to tell Dad upon reaching home.
