Phew…

HOT !

It was a sunny and hot afternoon.

Myna was resting at home with Mom. She heard children’s voices outside…

“Could it be the children coming back from school?” she wondered.

Woof…

Woof…

Myna heard someone calling her name from the playground.

“Myna..., Myna…”

She went to the balcony to find out who it might be.

Myna saw some children outside.

They were in their school uniforms.

“Woof...Woof… …” She called out.

Two children came out of the bushes laughing loudly. They were her best friends Nunu and Toto.

Myna…

Can I go out?

Myna was happy to see them.

She wanted to go downstairs and play with them.

Suddenly she heard Nunu shouting at the top of his voice, “Uncle, Aunty, is anyone at home to bring Myna down?�

Myna knew that Mom would not allow her go to downstairs under the hot sun.

She wished her friends could come over to her house instead.

She walked back to the living room looking for Mom. Mom was reading a book.

Myna sat closer to Mom and soon she dozed off.

“Ring… Ring…”

She was woken up by the sound of the door bell.

Mom walked over to see who was at the door.

Myna followed Mom and was surprised to see Toto and Nunu.

As soon as the children entered the house, they started playing with Myna.

Soon they got tired and sat on the sofa to rest. Myna too jumped on the sofa with them. Nunu brought Myna’s bed and put it on the sofa for her to rest. Myna did not want to rest and sat on the cushion instead.

Toto grabbed her and placed her in the bed and quickly covered her with the red cushion. Myna was trapped in between. Both the children started laughing.

They called out to Mom. “Aunty see the Hot Dog”.

Myna realised the game they were playing, and decided to play along.

Mom watched them with a big smile.

Both Nunu and Toto had just come back from school and they had to go home as it was getting late.

Myna felt sad. “Bye Myna, see you in the evening,� Nunu said.

Later in the evening, Dad took Myna out for a walk. It was their daily routine.

Hi Myna‌

On their way, they stopped at the playground to meet friends. Toto, Nunu and some other children were already playing and were eagerly waiting for her arrival.

zzzz‌

The children liked to carry and pet her.

When they were happy and excited, they called Myna Hot Dog, because she was a cool, friendly and playful dog.

They loved her.

Hi… HOT DOG..

A few days later, when Myna and her parents were in the playground, an aunty approached them.

Looking at Myna she asked, “Is this the Hot Dog, Myna?”

Am I a Fur Ball???

The aunty was pleased to meet her.

She said her daughter Anya talked about Myna every day.

Anya described Myna as a ‘Fur Ball full of love’. Mom and Dad looked at Myna affectionately.

Myna felt proud that she could make some children happy.
