On a Saturday evening, Mom announced; “We are going out for dinner.”.

It had been a long time since the family had gone out together for dinner.

Brothers said, “Hooray!”.

Dad said he will choose a ‘pet-friendly’ restaurant so that Myna could join.

Myna felt happy and excited.

The place was far from their house.

Everyone got ready and hopped into the car.

Myna sat on Mom’s lap and looked out through the window.

It was a scenic drive.

An hour later, they reached the farm.

The restaurant was located at the front entrance of the farm.

The farm had a large area for growing vegetables and fruits.

It also had a fish pond, chicken coop, and a playground.

The restaurant served dishes made from fresh farm produce.

There was a separate menu for pets.

Yum… Yum…

At the entrance of the farm, Myna saw the big board “Farm Restaurant”.

There was a big banana tree with bunches of yellow bananas in front of the restaurant.

Dad had made reservations for dinner.

They decided to go for a farm tour before dinner.

They walked through a flower garden with beautiful flowers.

In the middle of the flower garden, there was a children’s playground surrounded by sand.

Myna was eagerly sniffing around and digging in the sand.

It looked like she was searching for a buried bone.

Children were playing on the slide and on the swings.

Mom and Myna sat together on a swing.

Oh dear...

I am lost‌!

From there, they went to see the fruit trees in the farm.

They noticed many papaya trees on one side and decided to go there.

There were many trees bearing lots of papayas.

Myna felt papayas were soft and smooth to touch.

What is that on your head??

Next, they walked through the mango trees, looking at the mangoes.

The trees were tall, with many branches.

A small puppy??

Big brother said, he can reach the mangoes on the trees.

They saw a cute squirrel searching for mango seeds.

Myna had never seen a squirrel before. She thought it was a puppy.

Ouch..!

That hurts..

The jackfruit trees had lots of fruits on them. They looked different from the mango trees.

Some of the jackfruits were hanging low. Myna decided to touch one fruit that was lying on the ground.

The jackfruit thorns poked her paw and she felt uncomfortable. She complained to Dad. Dad told her to be careful.

Next, they saw starfruit trees and sugarcane plants.

From there they walked through the vegetable garden. The vegetables looked healthy and fresh.

Cluck… cluck At the far end of the farm, they saw a chicken coop.

It had roosters, hens and chicks in it.

When Myna saw them, she started barking.

A rooster called out ‘cookadoodledoo’ and the hens went ‘cluck, cluck’.

Dad, please let me have fun

Cockadoodldoo…

The other dogs in the farm started barking as well.

Dad said Myna was creating a scene and decided to distract her.

They walked towards the pond and sat there. There were so many fish in the pond.

Woof…woof

Yum‌ Yum‌ Finally, they went to the restaurant.

The food was delicious.

All the ingredients were fresh from the farm.

Myna was served a special salmon dish.

Dessert was fruit salad with ice cream and sweet juicy jackfruit.

It was her favourite part of the dinner.

Myna was tired from eating all that delicious food at the restaurant.

zzzz‌

Dad took Myna to the car, and she fell asleep immediately.

When Myna opened her eyes, they had already reached home.

Myna enjoyed the outing and went to bed happily.
