Pet Feature
Staff Profile: Srijana Staff Corner
Srijana - Finance Assistant
How did you get started in the aged care industry?
I began working in aged care when I was hired as a Finance Assistant at My Care Solution. It’s been a great opportunity to contribute to an industry that supports the wellbeing of older people which I find very rewarding.
Which My Care Solution value do you align with the most and why?
Customer care and support resonate with me the most which is why I believe that offering compassionate and responsive care is essential for making our clients feel valued.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
I always wanted to be a successful acccountant, and I’m excited to be working toward that dream!
What is your favourite thing to do in Adelaide?
I love hiking on the beautiful trails around Adelaide, especially with those amazing views.
How do you take care of yourself outside of work?
I focus on skincare, take walks along the beach, spend time with friends, and cook delicious meals at home.
Pet Parent: Jill Latimer (Regional Care Manager)
Pet name: Amber Latimer
Age: 12 or 13, born on my birthday. I believe she’s 13 this year.
Breed: Border collie x kelpie
She loves soft toys that squeak. Amber has a basket full of toys and will get my attention if one of her favourites is at the bottom of the basket and she can’t get it.
Amber loves watching TV with me and all social media, I have to turn the phone volume down as she loves watching me scroll through Facebook and slobbers on the phone or tries to attack it, especially if it’s a funny dog or cat story. Whilst watching TV Amber will get upset, bark, and do laps of the lounge room if she hears gun shots, sirens, alarm clocks, doorbells, knocks on doors, or anything with animals in it. She also picks up suspense in the music and gets ready for a lap. So pretty much, I don’t watch TV as it is too stressful for me too!
I am lucky I am able to bring Amber into work at MCS and she loves it too. Everyone spoils her with treats.
Most of all she is lovable and loves people, she is my best friend.
