ESG is key to the Group’s sustainable development

MTX Group has a long-standing and systematic commitment to sustainability.

Through collaboration between the Group’s companies, investment in innovative solutions and support for sustainable development, we are taking our business to a new level.

In recent years, concepts such as sustainability and social responsi bility have become an integral part of the functioning of large com panies and of society as a whole. MTX Group companies have paid attention to this area for a long time, but now we are entering a new phase of ESG. This framework will allow us to report our sustainable activities according to ESG standards, making non-financial reporting as important as the regular publication of financial results. Our entire Group is preparing methodically for this change. We are analysing double materiality, adding ESG specialists to our teams and bringing in other areas of our business.

between 2026 and 2028. This plan includes refurbishing buildings, modernizing production and introducing new technologies with lower energy consumption. Besides increasing efficiency, the aim is to significantly shrink the company’s carbon footprint.

These are the seven areas we will focus on under ESG:

• Product and process development

• Circular economy

• Reducing energy intensity

• Renewable energy

• Digitalization, automation, machine learning

• Brownfields as sites for business development

• People and community

One of our key objectives is to reduce energy consumption and use renewable energy sources. Led by our energy sub-holding MTX Renewables, we are building solar and wind power plants that will help provide a stable and environmentally friendly source of energy for our companies and lessen our dependence on external suppliers. The first phase of these projects has already been successfully launched with the installation of solar panels on the roof of the Strojmetal Aluminium Forging production facility in Bruntál.

Another important project is our modernisation of the AL INVEST Břidličná plant under the name ALFAGEN, which will take place

A similar modernization project called PCI 2030 is being implemented at Povrly Copper Industries, where we are updating production processes and boosting production efficiency.

In addition to investing in technology, our focus is on digitalizing and automating processes to make our manufacturing operations more efficient and sustainable. At the same time, we prioritize working with local communities and developing human capital. We support sports, cultural and educational activities and actively take part in local projects.

We create a safe and pleasant working environment for our employees, provide training and nurture talent.

MTX Group remains committed to sustainable development that both helps protect the environment and improves life for all of us. Our ESG projects, plans and commitments leave no doubt that the future of sustainable business is an integral part of our vision.

Martin Syrůček, Group Controlling Director and CFO of Povrly Copper Industries, is responsible for the development, implementation and management of ESG reporting at Group level. His role is to promote the highest standards of sustainability and transparency in Group companies, ensuring that regular reports are drawn up on progress in these areas.
