Karingal sitting comfortably amongst the top sides, notonlyanotherwinwasrequired,furtherassistance to their percentage was critical to their campaign goingintothesecondhalfoftheseason.ButwithRye being quite competitive regardless of the results, theycouldmakeitdifficultfortheiropponents.

Karingal managed to get off to a great start with hard running through the midcourt and placing endlesspressureallcontributingtoan11-goalleadat the first break in play. Rye made some player and positional changes in an attempt to get themselves back in this match. Backing their goalers to convert from anywhere in the circle, the second quarter was equal on the scoreboard with the hosts still holding onto their lead by 11. The Bullettes defenders were once again at their best with the reading of the play and ticking over intercepts and turnovers, and the team also seamlessly managing to rotate three goalers. A reset back to Karingal’s short game in the third and fourth quarter which resulted in more control and helped push the lead at each break. By theendofthe60minutes,Karingalwalkawaywitha 30goalwin.

Mornington headed into another match against one of the top teams after a high scoring loss against Seaford just 7 days prior, but with improvements documented after each week this young side could makeacontestagainstSomerville.
The first quarter was quick to get away from the Doggiesastheyfoundthemselvestriallingby15after the first 15. A minor change to the midcourt, Mornington backed their lineup and produced a much more competitive quarter against the ladder leaders. The accuracy of Victoria Downward and Bianca Anderson, only missing 5 goals between them, kept their side with the Eagles for the remaining three quarters. Continuing to mention the youngplayers,astheseasonprogressestheyarenot looking outclassed by more experienced players and teams. Somerville had some clear goals to focus on defensively. Still not quite hitting them across the board, they displayed defensive improvements with Maria Neophytou having one of her best defensive gamesinWD.Withtheabilitytotrydifferentgoaling combinationsisonlyconfirmingthestrengthsofthis Eaglesoutfitandwheretheyarecurrentlypositioned. After Round 9, Somerville remain undefeated followingthis22-goalwin.
