For Seaford, Round 9 saw the Tigers fall to a rampagingDevonMeadowsside,withseesthe boys in yellow & black sitting at 2-7 heading into this one. Emerging young defender Ryan Jacobs has been enormous for Seaford when not on VFL-duty. The youngster had 32 disposals and 10 rebound 50s and was named among the best for the Tigers in a tough loss. Jacobs is averaging over 31 possessions a gamesofarin2023andwiththeTigerslooking forplayersinstandupinthesecondhalfofthe season, Jacobs might just be the man to lead Seafordtotheir3rdwinoftheseasonhere.

Both sides are coming off losses in Round 9 and will be looking to make amends with a strong showing here. Mornington sit 5th and are looking to record their 6th win of the season as they host a Rye side who look to be on the improve. Impressive showings against Karingal, Hastings and Seaford in recent weeks show that although still winless, that this Demons side isn’t far off recording their firstwinoftheseason.
Mornington’s key forwards were firing on all cylinders last week, with spearhead Jackson Calder in particular showing his quality with 7 goals against Somerville to take his season tally to 23 from 7 games. Captain-Coach Josh Newman impressed with 25 disposals and 5 clearances whilst Matthew North, Jake Smart and Jarrod Hicks were also among the Bulldogs best players in a close loss to Somerville.
Karingal were far too good for Rye last week, but despite another loss there are plenty of signs of improvement in this Demons side. MidfielderBillyHartungwaseverywhereforRye ashecollected39possessionsandrecorded10 tackles, fighting hard all day for the Demons. Campbell Robbins, Justin Barnes and Peter Hampton were also solid as the Demons edge closertotheirfirstwinoftheseason.

Both Pearcedale and Crib point are knocking on the door of finals contention and strong second halves to the season will be important if either side is to make their mark on the business end of the season. Crib Point are coming off a loss to Chelsea, which sees the Magpies sit 4-5 heading into Round 10 and with everything to play for in this one. This clashalsoloomsasamustwinforPearcedale, as the Dales look to keep within touching distance of the elite of Division Two as the seasonrollson.
Jordan Bastinac played one of his best games of the season for Pearcedale against Hastings last week, with the midfielder recording 39 disposals, 13 marks and 8 clearances to lead his side to their 4th win of the season. Kaolan Thornton,ArchieMcGuinnessandJakeFrawley also impressed for the Dales whilst one of Division Two’s most dangerous forward-lines alsoshined.LukeDaniel,CruizWestandMitch Davis form one of the best forward trios in Division Two, and with 7 goals between them last week will need to be an area of focus for CribPointinthisclash.
