Using state funds given every two years for each watershed-management area, Mower SWCD worked with landowners to create grassed waterways and water-and-sediment control basins.
Originally known as “One Watershed, One Plan,” the watershed-based implementation funds (WBIF) from the state also supported cost-share for sealing old wells and using soil-health practices, such as planting cover crops or doing reduced tillage on crop fields.
