

Austin Public Education Foundation hired an AHS alum as its new executive director earlier this spring.
Sarah (Corbin) Qualey, Class of 1996, now is leading the APE Foundation. She replaces Jennifer Boysen, who stepped down.
In May, the APE Foundation board posted:
“As we say goodbye to our outgoing director, Jennifer Boysen, we wish her all the best as she starts her next chapter. Please help us welcome our new executive director, Sarah Qualey. These two ladies are gems
and have a heart for teachers and educators at Austin Public Schools. It has been an honor to work with Jen and we are so excited to see the possibilities with Sarah.”
Austin, Qualey and her husband, Ryan, have three children who all attend Austin Public Schools.

Austin High and Pacelli students in the Mower County CEO entrepreneurship program met this fall at a construction site with Wagner (red helmet in photo), a project manager for his family business started in 1965 by his grandfather.
Wagner talked about various aspects of the construction business along with local projects managed by the company, including Austin High’s MacPhail Music Center expansion at the annex; Austin’s IJ Holton School for 5th major renovation of St. Augustine’s Catholic Church.
