Funding in 2024 started a preliminary design of whitewater structures proposed to replace downtown Austin’s dam on the Cedar River State Water Trail. CRWD is helping with the project. Ready by spring or summer 2025, this

partial design is vital for talks with local, state and federal agencies on if the project can move forward. It would be the state’s first whitewater project. For updates and more, go online: www.austinwhitewater.com

Since 2020, MN DNR has stocked at least 600 rainbow trout every spring in Wolf Creek.

An acre of city parkland near Queen of Angels Church also received prairie restoration.

This graphic shows the estimated capacity of CRWD s largest flood berm (shown at the top in Dexter Township) during the June 2024 flood. Overall, CRWD berms stored a combined 450 acre feet of stormwater at their peak.

Viewed at similar angles, CRWD’s largest flood-reduction berm to date is shown above in normal conditions and below around peak storage in June 2024.
