Interview with Catherine O. our marathon superstar!
Hi Catherine: - How’s your preparation going for the marathon?
Ok thanks I’m ready for it and hopefully it will be okay.
What kind of mileage are you running at the moment?
Currently taping down to smaller distances. Will you be running with anyone else?
Maybe with some people I’ve met that I will try to find the start.
What’s the furthest you’ve ever run?
Previously I ran 8 kilometres before Starting this training. 32 Kilometres = 20 miles.
Are you following a special diet?
Trying to control my carbs input whilst looking after my Type 1 diabetes.
Have you any idea about how long it will take you to complete it?
Roughly- but my main aim is to finish it.
However you do – We will all be right behind you- It’s a brave thing you are doing.
The
Marathon by Rio C.
On the 27th of April, I went to support 6 of our runners at the marathon. It was a lovely day with the Mosaic squad and weather was amazing on the day, and where we was based at the marathon there was a large crowd of supporters for family, friends and charity's that people were running for on the day. It was a great experience for me and I would like to go again when there's another marathon happening again, because the energy that I saw at the marathon that day, there was s much emotional moments when I saw runners coming back to reunited with family and friends at the marathon.
So this was my first experience attending a marathon, once again I would attend again or even take part in a marathon one day if the opportunity was to ever comeup.
So my message to everyone who's has been at home watching the marathon on the TV, it would be a great day to experience with friends and family to support and cheer on the runners and see them cross the finishing line at the next marathon.
So there you have it, that was my first marathon in London.

The Marathon
“I’ve been really looking forward to this day,” said an excited Zack beginning to run on the spot in preparation for the big race. His friends Tom, Simon, Jacob and Lucy had gone along to cheer him on. As Zack went to join the other runners, his friends began mingling with the crowds looking for a good spot to watch their friend. Unfortunately, Lucy began to feel daunted by the ever-growing crowds so, decided to meet up with them at some point later in the race. As she continued making her way to a surrounding park, she heard the crowds in the distance suddenly start to cheer loudly as the race began. She felt a sense of pride for Zack who was running for a charity very close to his heart. In the park, Lucy took photos of beautiful flower beds and soon discovered a stunning fountain situated within its vast grounds. It’s crystal water sparkled under the warm sun. After a while, she found herself getting lost in the parks many meandering lanes...
Meanwhile, Tom, Simon and Jacob were walking towards the next vantage point of the race as Zack continued with his quest. After a few hours, Zack looked as if he was suffering from severe leg cramps and had to drop out. “I never even got to finish the race”, he whined as Tom, Simon and Jacob helped the aching Zack into the car.
“Where’s Lucy?” he asked, suddenly realizing that she wasn’t with them. “She couldn’t cope with the crowds so went to the park and got lost”, they replied. “Where is she now?” Zack said with curiosity. “By now, most probably making her way back home,” said Jacob with a chuckle.
A few days later in the office, Zack boasted to his work colleagues that he’d been one of the first to have crossed the finishing line and how everyone had patted him on the back. Tom, Simon, Jacob and Lucy looked bemused as they continued with their work without uttering one single word on the subject...
