Young Adult Helplines/Services

The Mix is the UK’s leading support service for young people. They help you take on any challenge you’re facing from mental health to money, from homelessness to finding a job. They have a free confidential helpline and counselling service.

Kooth is an anonymous site which helps children and young people to feel safe and confident in exploring their concerns and seeking professional support. Kooth.com is an online app removing the need for Apple/Android accounts, data requirements and the stigma of mental health apps on your devices.

What is Mosaic Clubhouse?

Mosaic Clubhouse assists in the recovery of people living with mental ill health by providing members the opportunity and responsibility to work, learn and grow by contributing their talents to assist in the running of the clubhouse.

It is founded on the belief that all people, no matter how severely challenged by mental ill health, have the potential to be productive and the right to dignified and meaningful relationships.

Other ways we support our members include:

• Job searching and employment support

• Support to access and complete education and training courses, including help with homework .

• Organising social events including bank holidays.

• Peer support and peer-led support groups run by members, for members

PAPYRUS runs a professionally-staffed helpline called HOPE Line UK for young persons at risk and those who are worried about a young suicidal person they may know.

Business and Administration Unit

This unit provides the administration support for the clubhouse. In this unit you can:

• Help out on the Reception

• Provide tours to potential members and partners.

• Database work (recording attendances, workshops and reachout)

• Help update our Website and Facebook and Twitter accounts

• Prepare and type up board papers, minutes, letters and other documents

This is an excellent unit to work in if you’re keen on administration work, want to develop your computer skills, or if you ultimately want to work in an office.

Other services in the community

(FST) is an innovative charity which runs social enterprises to provide work and training opportunities for people excluded from work because of mental health issues or other disadvantages, including drug and alcohol recovery problems and a history of offending. Courses included: Driving ambition, 12 modules of motor mechanics, Health and Safety

Connect & Do run workshops and activities that aims to bring people bringing people together through shared interests. Our activities are currently a mix of online and face to face.

Sessions include:

Art Mondays, Coffee Afternoons, Sewing and English Classes.

Employment, Education and Information Unit

This lively unit is responsible for ensuring that the clubhouse provides access to paid work for those who want to work or get into entry-level courses, In this unit you can also:

• Create posters

• Hunt for job and course opportunities

• Work on your CV

• Interview practice sessions

• Run educational workshops

SRA establishes work habits for those whose lives have been interrupted by mental illness. This includes accessing adult education, work placements and support to find a job. This training takes place in one o 3 social enterprises –catering, cleaning, and print.

Café Garden and Maintenance Unit

The unit provides support for members who have an interest in cooking and want to work in a service industry-style setting, running a busy, fully operational café. This unit also takes care of the maintenance of the Clubhouse and all its outdoors spaces.

The Café, Garden and Maintenance unit provides the opportunity to help:

• Run a Café selling snacks, sandwiches, hot and cold refreshments

• Cook a main meal each day with two main options, a meat option as well as vegan dishes

• Maintain and clean the building

• Work towards a Food Hygiene certificate

• Customer service skills

• Grow vegetables and tender the gardens.

• Till training

• Hospitality for in-house events

Evening Sanctuary

The Evening Sanctuary is a free evening service providing short-term support to Lambeth residents who are currently experiencing a mental health crisis. We are open 7 nights a week from 6pm – 12am. We offer a calm, quiet space, people to listen, a hot meal, and gentle activities such as art, yoga, knitting, and board games.

Referrals can be made by healthcare professionals

The Evening Sanctuary is a non-clinical service, we do not offer counselling or beds for the night.

Information Hub

The Information Hub is a drop in service that offers support by signposting and referring Lambeth residents to specialist advice services. This could include local mental health services, benefit support, housing advice as well as legal assistance. This service can be accessed via drop in, email, telephone or website. The information hub is open Monday to Friday 9-5.

Waterloo Legal Advice Service“Drop in” centre every Thursday, between 6.30pm and 8.00pm which provides legal advice and assistance to local residents. such as housing, , family, immigration, small claims and personal injury. WLAS provides a full range of services, from one-off advice to more complex matters such as preparing for Court hearings.
