Will you rat on the rodents you find on the dairy trail this half term? This October half term, try out the brand-new, free ‘Rats and Dairy’ trail at The Museum of English Rural Life in Reading. Rats like to eat cattle feed, milk, cheese and butter, so it has always been really important to keep them out of dairies! As you explore the galleries can you spot the rats and the objects they’ve decided to explore? There’s also a variety of free trails to discover in The MERL’s lovely garden and you’ll also be able to buy an Autumn-themed family activity pack, full of activities to enjoy in the MERL garden, galleries and at home. Families can have fun on the fabulous wooden play-on tractor & wagon and meet the MERL chickens at home in their henhouse! Bring a picnic and enjoy a treat from The MERL Cafe too!
