MOODY COUNTY PRE-DISASTER MITIGATION PLAN MEETING

As Moody County continues the process of updating the Moody County Pre-disaster Mitigation Plan, the Moody County Pre-disaster Mitigation Planning Team will meet for the third and final time at 1:00 PM on Monday, August 25, 2025 in held in the Farmers Room at the Moody County Courthouse 101 East Pipestone Avenue, Flandreau, South Dakota.

The plan is available online at: https://association.1stdistrict. org/pdmplans/. This Plan identifies potential natural disasters, their impact, and possible projects to mitigate the impact of said disasters. The County is required by the Federal Emergency Management Agency to update this plan every five years.

Tribal Police Officers are responsible for patrolling the reservation and tribal trust lands to prevent crime and enforce laws and regulations, responding to all calls for service, and performing specialized technical, administrative, and/or investigative assignments. Police Officers should possess an understanding of tribal sovereignty, laws, and regulations, as well as the need for enforcement. The principal duties of this class are performed in a variety of emergency and non -emergency situations, which may involve exposure to potential personal danger.

Assistant Attorney General

The Assistant Attorney General will be tasked with the responsibility of prosecuting the Tribe’s Law and Order Code and will work closely with Tribal Police and other local state and federal agencies. The attorney will also assist with matters regarding the representation of the Tribe, Its ’ departments and enterprises. The attorney will handle all adult criminal juvenile delinquency matters.

Paralegal

This paralegal/lay advocate will assist and provide a range of legal support and administration to the Attorney General’s Office. The position is responsible for drafting legal documents, researching various legal topics as assigned by the attorney while p roviding various clerical support to the legal department
