TUTOR TRAINING & ASSESSMENT WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR? This Tutor Training course is designed to develop confidence, skills and techniques to enhance the practice of those looking to mentor trainee practitioners and/or deliver training courses as a Tutor, Trainer or lead Educator, supporting adult learners as they seek out professional training and qualifications. WHY STUDY THIS COURSE? This MCI course offers insight into the underpinning knowledge, understanding and skills needed to confirm occupational competence and support learners towards positive learning experiences and inspirational delivery. The programme includes the planning and delivering of schemes of work and sessions, negotiation of individual goals, different teaching and learning strategies, communication and motivation considerations and exploration of a range of assessment practices.

BLENDED LEARNING: This programme incorporates webinar-led taught delivery, individual support for learning and assessment preparation and bespoke schedules for assessed observations. Our unique programme includes an assessment strategy and tasks which are designed to cover all the assessment criteria within the mandatory units and produce a cohesive and robust portfolio of teaching experience. Students progress through sessions available on the online platform, at an individual pace assisted by a rolling programme of webinar sessions to support each module of study. For course completion and practical support, learners will require nominated access to teaching practice during the period of study. There is a requirement for a minimum of 30 hours of practice for this qualification.


TUTOR TRAINING & ASSESSMENT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES GAINED: The course focuses on the preparation and support for adult learners. The aims of the qualification are to enable students: To understand the roles and responsibilities in relation to teaching. To understand appropriate teaching and learning approaches within your specialist area. To plan, deliver and evaluate teaching sessions. To understand the use of assessment methods and recordkeeping. WHAT WILL YOU STUDY? Five units of study: * Role of the Tutor * Planning delivery and support * Group delivery and individual support in practice * Assessment practice * Evaluation and Reflection * The course integrates a firm and robust challenge to accepted roles and responsibilities of the teacher in education and training. The modules cover a full range of learning and teaching approaches, grounded in theory and practical analysis. Additionally, our modules seek to help you to understand how to deliver sessions and motivate students through delivery and assessment, making use of a full range of different teaching methods to support and promote embedded inclusive practice and differentiated delivery. The 'flipped classroom' is integral to this study mode and as a blended learning course, using every opportunity together to discuss and support professional dialogues about the material is crucial. Assessment: Following completion of the webinar sessions and tutorial sessions with your mentor, you will be guided to complete your course assessment features. There is a requirement for a minimum of 30 hours of practice for this qualification. The assessment portfolio is made up of a combination of personal and professional reflections and assignment submissions.
