INFANT & TODDLER SPECIALISM BIRTH TO THREE YEARS WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR? The IMP: Infant & Toddler Specialism (birth to three years) course has been developed specifically for practitioners who have gained qualifications (Level 3 and above/licence to practice) and have experience working with children, preferably with infants.

WHY STUDY THIS COURSE? MCI has developed this innovative blended learning course for professionals to deepen their knowledge and understanding of the development and caring of infants, supporting educators to focus their study on this highly important period of the child’s life.

AFTER YOUR STUDIES: Students who successfully complete all six assignments will receive a MCI, IMP: Infant & Toddler Specialism (birth to three years) certification and have the insight of this specialism to take into their practice. Please note: The IMP: Infant & Toddler Specialism (birth to three years) course is not an Ofqual registered qualification and will not confer licence to practice in its own right. Those seeking a qualification, please access our website and explore the portfolio of accredited and internally awarded qualifications on offer through MCI: montessori-group.com/about-mci/our-courses/ SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES GAINED The course places great emphasis on the role of the adult and the role of the prepared environment from birth to three years, linking the Montessori pedagogy to regulatory and statutory frameworks. This is achieved through the interactive activities, observations and reflections on practice in the assessments and through forum posts.

BLENDED LEARNING The international nature of Montessori education is reflected in our diverse student body studying worldwide on MCI qualifications and courses. We have developed a blended learning approach which combines face to face and online learning, using our innovative virtual learning environment which enables learners to communicate, reflect and collaborate, establishing a vibrant international community of Montessori learners. All students will access course materials through this online platform and will be supported by an assigned mentor, to receive feedback on your work and participation in the forums. Similarly, at the face to face practical session you will be guided by Montessori specialist tutors.

WHAT WILL YOU STUDY? Six units of study: * Background & Context * Collaboration & Belonging * Physical & Spiritual Well-being * Exploration & Environment * Communication & Listening * Contribution & Community * Each unit is supported by interactive online learning materials and each unit includes forums, which allow students to communicate and discuss ideas over the course of study.
