Yellowstone National Park Closes for Wheeled Vehicle Travel November 8, 2021 The West Entrance to Yellowstone National Park is scheduled to close for wheeled vehicle travel at 8 a.m. on November 8, 2021, in preparation for the winter season. Seasonal closures are planned for the following dates:
Come to West Yellowstone for this year’s Yellowstone Ski Festival (a.k.a. Ski Week, as it’s known around these parts). West Yellowstone is THE place for Nordic skiing, whether you are a veteran racer or just beginning. This year’s Ski Week is scheduled for November 23-27, 2021. Ski Week will kick off with a Biathlon “Try-It” Clinic on Tuesday, November 23, followed by the Biathlon Race on Wednesday. A series of clinics will be held on Thursday and Friday, and the week will culminate in a number of 5k and 10k races on Saturday. This event annually attracts more than 3,500 skiers from across the United States and Canada, so don’t miss your chance to join in the fun.

Yellowstone National Park Opens for Oversnow Travel

December 15, 2021 is the projected opening date for snowmobile and snowcoach travel for the winter season (weather permitting). The park will be open until approximately March 15, 2022 when the roads close in preparation for spring. Conditions permitting, the following roads are scheduled to reopen to oversnow travel at 8 a.m. on December 1:
