OUR JOURNEY

We're celebrating 55 years! On April 9, 1969, Uniban em barked on its inaugural journey in international trade with the vessel Electrón, marking the beginning of banana exports from Colombia.

WE HARVEST THE BEST FROM OUR LAND TO SHARE IT WITH THE WORLD

This significant milestone represented the first step towards innovation and leadership in the sector, with 14,000 boxes of bananas making their way to the United States.

THE FIRST HISTORIC STEP

On this anniversary, we highlight Uniban's persistence and foresight, which have since led to the commercialization of over 1.409 billion boxes. This feat reflects the company's commitment to quality and efficiency, establishing Colombia as a key player in the global fruit market.

We are deeply honored to have been recognized by CHEP for our e orts in sustainable production. Our commitment to the Circular Economy model is reaping positive results:

We've saved 6,000 ft³ in wood, equivalent to preserving 15 trees.

Our CO2 emissions have decreased by 390 million lb, thanks to 216 acres of forest that continue to sequester carbon.

We've reduced waste by 38,000 lb and engage 22 individuals daily in waste generation activities, promoting a greener, more sustainable community.

At Uniban, we strive towards more sustainable production models, ensuring that our practices not only benefit our business but also our planet. This recognition is a testament to our ongoing commitment to sustainability and innovation in our operations!

TRANSFORMING THE ENVIRONMENT OF COMMUNITIES

With the delivery of a new multi-functional sports court in the municipality of Zona Bananera, and two classrooms in Urabá, we continue to generate significant impacts through our foundation.

The coordinated work that we have been conducting as a company, supported by the presence and management of our foundation in the di erent regions where we operate, continues to make a di erence and contributes to the development, growth, and improvement of the quality of life of the nearby communities.

Recently, under a cooperation alliance between Unibán Foundation and Cortrabam, Corporación de Trabajadores Bananeros del Magdalena, a multi-functional sports court was constructed and delivered in the Julio Zawady district of the Zona Bananera municipality; a sports venue that will benefit more than 685 people from the residential developments Minuto de Dios, Villa Nova,

Julio Zawady Stage I, and Julio Zawady II, Stage Los Empalmes.

This project was carried out with an investment exceeding 280 million Colombian pesos, a determined bet by both organizations to promote sports, culture, and healthy coexistence among the children and youth of this locality.

This court is the 29th sports facility delivered to the community, eight of them in the Magdalena region and 21 in the Urabá region, where, with the support of the Japanese Embassy, our foundation also delivered 2 new classrooms and renovated the sanitary facilities of the Rural Educational Center Arenas Monas, in San Pedro de Urabá, providing dignified and adequate learning environments for approximately 259 students.
