A grand garden day out
by Rebecca Blackman
South Molton Community Garden volunteers held our annual trip to RHS Rosemoor this month. Our committee arranges a group visit for garden members every year and it is always a wonderful day out. This year’s trip was well attended and we were blessed with perfect weather - and Rosemoor was stunning as ever.
Back at the garden, the crops are growing well and we’re enjoying some excellent fruit and vegetables. We’re harvesting beetroot, carrots, runner beans and raspberries every week.
We dug up a few potatoes to see how they’re doing and were very pleased to find a great crop with no slug damage. We’ll do our best to harvest the rest of the potatoes before the slugs get a chance to eat them all! Last year we were a bit late and our potatoes suffered greatly.
We welcome new members! If you’d like to join us, visit the garden on a Thursday afternoon at 2pm (weather permitting). Alternatively, please see our website for more information: southmoltoncommunitygarden.co.uk or on Facebook @southmoltoncommunitygarden
