Flower power coming to you!
Flower power coming to you!
The ‘Big Autumn Sow’ is returning for 2024, giving away free wildflower seeds to create mini meadows across North Devon’s rural communities.
Run by Devon Wildlife Trust, this year it has a special event where you can pick up your seeds and get advice at South Molton Pannier Market (see advert below).
“This autumn we’re celebrating community action by inviting you to plant mini wildflower meadows in community spaces. We will provide your wildflower seeds for free and share your story!” said Emma Smith, the trust’s Wilder Communities Officer.
“Get together with your neighbours, colleagues or community to create a

wonderfully wild wildflower patch or get your street buzzing with mini meadows in pots and window boxes.”
The seed mix has been chosen for its native wildflowers (pictured above) which will provide a great food source for pollinators including bees and butterflies, as well as great habitat for other insects. Different size packs are available to suit your project. More information: devonwildlifetrust.org/ northern-devon-natural-solutions
