Welcome to the October edition of Molton Monthly Magazine. Having driven all of the North Devon Link Road in mid September, I will be pleasantly surprised if the roadworks are finished by the end of Octoberthe latest deadline announced by the contractors.

The Rose Ash based British Hen Welfare Trust revealed that their one millionth rescue hen has been adopted by none other than King Charles III - a right royal achievement!

Molton Monthly Magazine is proud to be an Exmoor National Park Partner, so please join me in wishing them a very happy 70th birthday this month! As part of their celebrations they’re looking for young writers to pen short stories inspired by Exmoor’s magical night skies.

South Molton Carnival returns this month and I’m supporting it with free advert space - good luck to all those involved. There’s a great photo from the 1933 carnival on p23. We welcome readers in Swimbridge and Heddon this month, the latest expansion of our delivery area... and don’t forget the clocks go back an hour on October 27th!
