You wouldn’t get a nicer couple in town than Barry and Maria Allen (centre) . Not only nice but great supporters of Molong (and previously Pinecliffe as residents) and the building owners of the historical real estate building in Bank Street. Now occupied by Peter Fisher Real Estate, the Novemberflood-damaged building has been wonderfully restored by Barry and Maria and looks fabulous. Jake Evans (left) and Renee
Reid (right) and the local Peter Fisher Real Estate team are very happy with their premises. Both Jake and Renee are proud local residents and grandchildren of the late Bob and Joyce Evans formerly of ‘Killenbutta’ Norah Creek. Renee married into the Reid family of Larras Lee (also a legendary farming settler family). The Allen’s building dates back in time to Crook & Giffin auctioneers, and stock and station agents.
Former resident and Korner Store owner, Paul Kinsella (now living in Orange)- pictured with two of his sisters, Valerie and Cora from Qld. The Kinsella family came to town from Ireland back in the 60s. A large family, the parents boarded the younger children at Fairbridge Farm whilst they found employment and established in Sydney. A popular family, they lived in Molong in the house that once stood on the corner of Euchareena Road and Betts Street. They were a happy and much loved family. Pictured after enjoying coffee at Lime & Stone, the three siblings took a memory walk around town.
A simple conversation in Bank Street has led to a huge step being taken by the Molong Rugby Club (the mighty Magpies) - to purchase and renovate the iconic Bank Street building pictured above. Well, that’s what comes when looking for opportunities from a disaster (2022 flood). Known as the ‘old picture theatre’ building now as Heba’s Downtown Fitness Centre and Magpies headquarters ... this very much loved local building has ‘risen from the mud’ (so to speak) and time and history to a new modern revival. Heba is also very pleased to return to providing an even better fitness centre - an upgraded one, after her previous centre in the Western Stores building was destroyed by the flood. We hear there is a planned Open Day coming up for Downtown Fitness on 11 August, 2023. Congratulations to the Molong Magpies on this new initiative in seeing a need rise from the flood - and seizing the opportunity for the greater good of Molong and district.

The Express finally managed to take a photo of the Ray White team (above, Wade, KerrieAnn, Jodie and Goudrin) formerly known as Molong Real Estate. Their former building is now occupied by Jake Evans and Renee Reid of Peter Fisher Real Estate (see above left). Hit hard by the November 2022 flood, the above Ray White team moved to higher ground and to the former Molong Post Office. Pop in and say hello - and take a look at the marvellous heritage features of Michael and Kathryn Frew’s building.

It was lovely to see Manildra residents, Lyn Woodhart (nee Tom of the Amusu Theatre family) and Ann Lee enjoying a walk in sunny Bank Street and a coffee at Lime & Stone. Both looking marvellous - as always.
I love seeing young families around town, like the Townsends: Peter, Natasha, Tabatha and Oliver who moved to Molong a few years ago, built their own home, kids go to school in town and love playing sport, supported by their mum, dad, grandparents.
