THE POWER OF

Imagination

In many cases, imagination has gotten a bad rap, primarily by the negative mindsets that permeate our society. Those people want to dismiss any grandiose ideas as silly or “just a figment of our imagination”. But imagination is akin to faith and without it we have little hope of accomplishing much in life.

Imagination is one of the most powerful tools a human being possesses. It is the invisible force behind creativity, innovation, and progress. From the earliest cave paintings to modern technology, imagination has shaped the way we live, think, and dream.

At its core, imagination allows us to explore possibilities beyond our current reality. It lets us envision a better future, solve problems, and invent new things. Albert Einstein once said, “Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world.” This statement highlights how imagination fuels not just science and invention, but every aspect of human endeavor.

Writers use imagination to build entire worlds, characters, and stories that can move hearts and change perspectives. Artists express their vision through color, form, and sound, offering new ways to see the world. Scientists and inventors rely on imaginative thinking to push boundaries, test hypotheses, and explore the unknown. Without imagination, there would be no airplanes, no smartphones, no internet— only what already exists.

But imagination isn’t just for the creative elite. It plays a role in everyday life. When we plan a vacation, dream of a career, or picture our goals, we’re using imagination. It helps us empathize with others, stepping into someone else’s shoes to understand their feelings and experiences. It also helps us navigate challenges, by visualizing solutions and outcomes before taking action.

Moreover, imagination is a powerful coping mechanism. In difficult times, it offers hope. It allows people to mentally

escape their circumstances and envision a brighter future. It gives children the space to play, learn, and grow. Even adults benefit from daydreaming—it boosts mental health, reduces stress, and sparks innovation.

In a world that often demands facts and logic, we must not forget the importance of imagination. It is the birthplace of dreams, the engine of innovation, and the heart of empathy. Nurturing imagination—through reading, exploration, and creative expression—can unlock endless potential. After all, everything we see around us was once just someone’s idea. The power of imagination is not only real—it’s limitless.

TiffanyScott

Better Homes & Gardens Real Estate

Leading by Example

As the Broker/Owner of Better Homes & Gardens Real Estate – Platinum Properties, Tiffany Scott has built a thriving business while fostering a supportive and successful team. Her story is one of passion, resilience, and a relentless drive to make a difference.

A Young Start in Real Estate

Tiffany’s real estate journey began at an incredibly young age. She purchased her first house when she was just 18 years old, an impressive milestone that set the stage for her future in the industry. Working in an administrative role within real estate gave her invaluable insights into the business, eventually leading her to obtain her real estate license in 2006.

Her entry into the field was anything but easy. The real estate market was strong when she first got licensed, but it soon took a downturn. For many, the challenges of a shifting market would have been discouraging. However, for Tiffany, failure was not an option. She embraced the difficulties head-on, learning the industry through tough times and gaining the resilience that would later define her career.

Building a Thriving Brokerage

Over the years, Tiffany’s expertise and leadership skills grew, leading her to earn her first Broker license about a decade ago. Today, she is licensed in four states and has been the Broker/Owner of Better Homes & Gardens Real Estate – Platinum Properties for the past year. Under her leadership, the brokerage is expanding rapidly, with a third office set to open in April. Her team has grown to approximately 60 agents and staff members, a testament to the supportive and successful environment she has cultivated.

A Passion for Mentorship & Growth

Having been a top-producing agent herself, Tiffany understands what it

Her favorite aspect of the job is mentoring and supporting her agents as they grow their businesses. Watching them reach new heights and accomplish their goals has become her greatest reward.

“I really love feeling like I’m helping my agents cultivate and grow their business,” Tiffany shares. “At a certain

Beyond business, Tiffany is passionate about giving back. She is proud to have established the Platinum Promise Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting various causes. The foundation has contributed to organizations such as Susan G. Komen, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, and local elementary schools by providing food for children in need. Additionally, they work closely with senior care facilities, ensuring that their impact reaches across multiple generations.

Advice for Aspiring Real Estate Professionals

For those looking to enter or excel in the real estate industry, Tiffany emphasizes the importance of responsiveness and empathy. “Answering the phone is hugely important,” she advises. “Being able to put yourself in the shoes of your client is crucial.”

Joseph Pollard

Being a Positive Influence

“I like being an active member of this community and I want to be a positive influence for people personally and professionally.”

Joseph Pollard has always known what he wanted to be when he grew up – a real estate agent. Don’t believe him? Ask his mom. Pollard says his mom has photos of him at ages 5 and 6 surfing realtor.com. “I didn’t play with Legos,” he said. “I home shopped. My mom thought it was a phase, but I never grew out of it.”

Pollard grew up in a military family, which resulted in his family relocating frequently. He states that this regular movement led to his interest in housing and real estate, making it reasonable that he aimed to become a realtor from a young age. Pollard indicates that throughout his life, he believed working in real estate was what he was born to do.

An agent since 2019, Pollard recently joined forces with Elite Real Estate Solutions to pursue more opportunities for growth including utilizing its inhouse property management company that could help his investor clients.

Previously he worked with Elite Realty Landmark in its Foley office. He explained that to date, he is honored to have helped over 117 families and closed over $43 million in volume in his career with Elite. He said in the real estate world, agents should constantly evolve, always look to continue their education, get great coaching, and “having a mentor is important and worth its weight in gold.”

Pollard says his evolution as a real estate agent is to earn an associate broker’s license. “Working with other people who lift you up, challenge you, and motivate you and others is important.”

Real Estate Challenges

Of the industry, Pollard says there are times when there are truth, trials and tribulations, but he says it’s been great and just what he expected and wanted. “No days are the same and I’m always learning something

new, even though I feel like I am seasoned,” he said. “I love helping people - anything from a first-time home buyer to an experienced investor trying to get to the next level – it’s so rewarding, and I couldn’t see myself doing anything else. Buying and selling real estate can be an emotional and complex process, and I love helping guide and support my clients and customers throughout the transaction.”

Local

Roots

Born in Orlando, Fla., Pollard’s family settled down along the Gulf Coast since his mother grew up in Mobile. Once his father retired from the Army, they settled in the Fairhope area, and Pollard graduated from Fairhope High School in 2017. Pollard said he moved away briefly for college at The University of Alabama but moved back when the pandemic hit back in 2021.

“I was licensed and selling real estate in the Tuscaloosa area while attending college and when the pandemic hit, I thought there was no other place I wanted to shelter in place except at the beach, so I came back home,” he said.

Pollard says working through the pandemic was an exciting time for agents, and he says it was an adjustment and challenge to stay productive.

“After the pandemic, there was an adjustment period, but I thought to keep going, I needed to pivot my business and go back to the basics,” he said. “I got myself involved in the community – nonprofits,

chamber events – and I thought as long as I can provide value in some for others without asking for anything in return, it’ll come back tenfold. Most of my business is sphere of influence and referrals, and I always try to do good by others and if you do that it’ll all come back to you.”

Pollard attributes time management to becoming more important in his career as he’s experienced a wider market reach. “You can do anything as long as you plan for it,” he said.

Mobile and Baldwin Counties

Working in Mobile and Baldwin counties, Pollard said he’s very grateful for that pivot he made, and he said he’s been very blessed to stay on track with his production generally selling at least $9 million a year.

While his market specialty is the Eastern Shore and the Beach – Daphne, Fairhope, Foley, and Gulf Shores – he also sells in Mobile. His favorite place in Mobile is Midtown where his mother grew up and the amazing historic homes in that area.

“Midtown holds a special place in my heart,” he said. “I love historic homes, and I love to show clients homes in the area, it is quintessential Mobile.”

Seeing When Everything Clicks into Place

Pollard’s favorite part of the job is helping people and he says when everything clicks in place for his clients and they have found the house they want, it is a very rewarding experience.

“If you do things for others and don’t expect anything in return, it always comes back tenfold.”

“I love the challenge of real estate,” said Pollard. “Each property is unique, and developing a plan to sell a client’s home for the best possible price is something I am passionate about. The challenge of helping individuals transition to the next chapter of their lives and being intimately involved in that process is incredibly rewarding.”

Giving Back

In his spare time, Pollard says he likes to give back to others by involving himself with local nonprofit organizations. “I like helping people and being an active member of the community,” he said. “I have always been this way, starting in school as a Boy Scout and achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. So, charity has always been a big part of my life.”

When he’s not working or volunteering his time for charity, Pollard says you’ll always find him on the beach, near the water and entertaining friends. “I love having people over and I love being around other people; I am a very social person’” he continued. “I especially love Mardi Gras and going to balls and parades - it’s the ultimate social occasion.”

Pollard said, “being servant minded really, truly brings me joy and I love being outside,” he said. “The area’s natural resources always bring me joy as well.”

Motto

to Live By

“I really believe that if you do good by others and it will always come back to you,” he added. “What goes around comes around” he

added. “If you do things for others and don’t expect anything in return, it always comes back tenfold.”

Life on the Gulf Coast

When Pollard describes the Gulf Coast, he mentions

the area’s low cost of living compared to the rest of the country is a good selling point for him, but he says it’s really the people. “The region is known for its Southern hospitality and community spirit,” said Pollard. “Front

porch living remains a part of the lifestyle, contributing to the area’s appeal. Alongside the beaches and geographical environment, the people contribute significantly to the attraction of the area.”

Josh Maples

THE SHED JUNKIE

FORTUNE FAVORS THE BOLD

Freshly minted entrepreneur Josh Maples is the youthful owner of The Shed Junkie, Mobile Bay Real Producer’s Spotlight Vendor for May.

“I was born at USA Medical in Mobile, grew up in Grand Bay and attended Lighthouse Christian Academy in Irvington.” Maples said.

Josh was a bright student, with an affinity for math and history, and graduating near the top of his class. A relentless work ethic was also seen early, displayed at his very first job at a fabrication shop, laboring after school and most weekends.

“I started out cutting grass and eventually worked my way into the shop as a helper. After a couple of years, I could run everything and was as proficient at 18 as any of the grown men in that shop.” Maples said.

After graduation, Josh promptly applied for an apprenticeship program at Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula, selected among only a few for the highly competitive opening.

PHOTOS BY BRANDON MORGAN, DREAM HOME PRODUCTIONS
While doing so, I came up with an idea for my own business, a company called The Shed Junkie.”

“Roughly 2,000 people applied for 12 positions within a four-year outside machinery program at Ingalls. I was among the youngest selected in my cohort.” Josh said.

Maples progressed quickly through the training and moved up the ladder rapidly during his time at the shipyard.

“I transitioned over from building propulsion systems to the test and trials department; going from building systems to troubleshooting and ensuring that they were up to par for standard operations. After about ten years of doing that, a spot come open on the Navy side working for the Department of Defense. Due to glowing recommendations and building a good relationship with them, I moved over to the Navy side as a quality assurance inspector in 2022 at a relatively young age.” Maples said.

In 2024, due to his efforts, Josh transferred over to Austal in Mobile to handle a higher level role. “I now essentially work as a liaison for the government, making sure that all work is up to Navy standards for anything dealing with machinery on new vessel construction.” he added.

Running parallel to his success in his career, Josh is also a family man, marrying his high school sweetheart, Madison Maples, at the age of nineteen. Currently they have an 8-year-old daughter Blakely and a 7-year-old son, Kowen, with his wife also in the process of completing her nursing degree from the University of South Alabama. Spending more quality time with his family played a large part in motivating Maples to venture into owning his own business when others may have been satisfied with his level of corporate success.

With a grinding work ethic established at a young age, Josh took the initiative to start working with his uncle’s business in 2022 which was a precursor to his company’s establishment today.

“For the past three years, I have been helping my uncle’s manufacturing plant

here in Mobile County from a digital standpoint, basically managing his marketing and sales strategies. While doing so, I came up with an idea for my own business, a company called The Shed Junkie.” Maples said.

Establishing his business in January of this year, the concept is a small business improvement on a big box retail concept.

“We offer storage solutions for our customers with portable buildings that we build in our manufacturing plant.

The units can be purchased on our lots or custom built to order. Some people need sheds in their backyard for storage while others are wanting workshops, gyms, she sheds or man caves.” Maples said.

“They are also easy to acquire through our rent to own program. If a person doesn’t have the capital to purchase one outright immediately, with relatively low down payment they are set up on an affordable monthly payment plan spread out over 36, 48, 60 or 72 months and it belongs to you.

There’s no longer a need to drive across town to access to your belongings and I’ve seen them be utilized from a shed all the way up to apartments and work offices. Whatever the customer has in mind for it.” he added.

Seeing a massively positive response almost from the very beginning, Josh attributes his company’s success to an emphasis on customer service, quality products and competitive pricing versus his larger competitors. Moving into 2025 and beyond, Maples plans to add new locations in Mobile and Baldwin Counties as well as expand into Mississippi.

When asked to give words of advice to anyone inspired by his story of constantly pushing and redefining his boundaries of success, Josh spoke from the heart.

“I really developed a hardnosed edge as a grinder early in life and my only talent is not quitting. Nobody’s going to give you anything in life. The quicker you learn and accept that, the faster you’re going to see things start coming together for you. Fortune favors the bold.”

HUNTER BROWN

RE/MAX PARADISE

JUST A GOOD ‘OLE COUNTRY GUY

Just a Good ‘Ole Country Guy “I’m from the country and I am a chill, easy-going and laid-back guy.”

Hunter Brown says he is just a guy from the country who grew up in Monroeville, Ala. He has experience as a teacher (teaching physical education, science and health) and coach, and he utilizes his interpersonal skills to assist clients with their real estate needs. “I love talking and meeting new people,” he said. “I love making a relationship with my clients and going above and beyond for them.”

In the real estate business for almost three years, Brown says he wanted to learn from the best and that is why he chose to work for RE/MAX Paradise. “I interviewed with several agencies and the RE/MAX brand stood out to me and that’s what I wanted to align myself with. People know the brand, and, in this area, they are leaders and well known.”

He says working for RE/ MAX Paradise is such a great environment. He says the Orange Beach office is open seven days a week, so people can always find an agent on duty. He says as far as helping him grow as an agent and be successful, Mr. Bob is a go-getter, and he says “if I need help, I can count on anyone in the office to help me. I love the mentality and the mindset of everyone in the office.”

Selling mostly in Foley and Gulf Shores, Brown says he doesn’t let the beautiful environment of the coast distract him too much when helping his clients. Wherever they want to go, he is ready to find what they need. “I really want to help them in whatever they need – whether that be in Gulf Shores or elsewhere,” said Brown.

With his busy schedule, Brown doesn’t have a lot of spare time to

do the things he used to do when he lived in the country.

“We (he and his wife) sometimes take the boat out and ride our bikes along the beach trail or hang out with friends.”

Now that his family has expanded with a newborn, he says what makes him most happy

of helping my clients find exactly what they want. I’ll go to my computer and try to find new listings and I am always looking to find a perfect match with who I am working with.”

When asked what he likes best about working in real estate he says it is getting to know new people and being able to help them find exactly what they are looking for even if they don’t know it yet. “After I tell people to call me for help (with their real estate needs), I ask very specific and detailed questions to help narrow down their search criteria to what fits that client’s needs,” he said. “I treat them all the same and reason with them to find out what they want, what they need, and really dive into how I can help them. If they have concerns about working with me, I tell them to check out my reviews and see that I do my homework for my clients.”

Brown started in real estate at the urging of a friend who showed him how successful he was, and with some coaxing, Brown said he came down to start his real estate career. He was encouraged to learn as he went along and so that’s what he did. “I felt like I was almost thrown to the wolves, but it really taught me a lot about the business,” he said. “I realized I can be myself and people relax. I’m a people person and I love helping people and I think that really shows.”

these days is seeing his newborn son smile. Brown says he has dialed back his outdoor activities since he and his wife have had their child, so he’s a bit of a homebody. If he happens to have some spare time, Brown admits “I don’t really know what to do with my spare time except work,” he said. “I love the research part

Brown’s educational background is diverse. He has tried his hand at nursing school and sports management. He taught high school science and was a coach at numerous schools before meeting his wife and settling down. “I learned a lot about being a coach from all the different coaches I worked with, and they each taught me their own styles, but mainly how to help kids,” he

explained. “I learned the process of getting graduating students to prepare for signing day and helped kids get recruited. I really have a passion for coaching.”

Once he left teaching and coaching, Brown says he still dabbles in his previous profession by coaching a local girls’ softball team of which he says he loves coaching, and they keep him on his toes. “These girls and amazing and so much fun to coach.”

A relative newcomer to real estate, Brown says he is learning and growing and with RE/MAX, he says he is surrounding himself and learning from the best.

A nomination currently looks like this: Email us at robert. orso@realproducersmag.com with the subject line “Nomination: (Name of Nominee)” and explain why you are nominating the individual. Maybe the person has an amazing

story that we need to tell, or perhaps someone overcame extreme obstacles, is an exceptional leader, has the best customer service, or gives back to the community in a big way. The next step is an interview with us to ensure a good fit, and then we put the wheels in motion for our writer to conduct an interview and for our photographer to schedule a photo shoot.

Q: WHAT IS THE COST TO FEATURE A REALTOR®, AGENT, OR TEAM?

A: Zero, zilch, zippo, nada, nil. The feature costs nothing, my friends, so nominate away! We are not a pay-to-play model. We share real stories of Real Producers.

Q: WHO ARE THE PREFERRED PARTNERS?

A: Anyone listed as a preferred partner in the front of the magazine is a part of this community and will have an ad in every issue of the magazine, attend our quarterly events, and be a part of our online community. We don’t just find these businesses off the street, nor do we work with all businesses that approach us. One or many of you have recommended every preferred partner you see in this publication. We won’t even meet with a business that you have not vetted and stamped for approval, in a sense. Our goal is to create a powerhouse network for the REALTORS® and agents in the area and for the best affiliates so we can grow stronger together.

Q: HOW CAN I RECOMMEND A PREFERRED PARTNER?

A: If you have a recommendation for a local business that works with top real estate agents, please let us know. Send an email to robert.orso@realproducersmag.com.
