Celebrating

FIVE YEARS IN PRINT

Wow! Five years went by fast! Since I launched Mobile Bay Real Producers in April of 2020, my life has passed by fast. Each month I am reminded that another month is in the books because the magazine deadlines on the fifth of the month and it is amazing how quickly the fifth rolls around. I am getting older faster LOL!

Why do I do what I do? Everyone needs the “why” of what they do to stay motivated and keep pushing forward. Sure, I am making a living doing this, but their has to be a greater “why”. During a magazine celebration party this evening, one of my clients commented to me that I have a very unique job. And he was right. I have the privilege of meeting with and making friends with the best realtors and vendors in the market. I am not a big shot, but I do get to hang out with some big shots.

My goal has been to meet all of the top realtors in Baldwin and Mobile Counties. I have met over 250 of them but I am still working down the list. I have learned that the most successful ones do not consider themselves big shots, but are very humble, down to earth people who just keep their heads down and work and at the same time keep their perspectives right by making their families and friend relationships a priority - a balanced life. I have had the privilege of meeting some outstanding people and I cherish those encounters and relationships.

Over the past five years, we have extended our reach and presence in this market. The goal has been and still is to create a community where the elite realtors and our preferred partners can read about each others’ journeys to success and hang out together at our social events and magazine celebration parties. Our mission is for all of you to get to know each other better. When we know each other better, it creates trust and makes it easier to work together and help each other. When we trust one another, it is a joy to work together. That is our mission.

If you have not become our friend or follower on Facebook and Instagram, you are missing a lot of what we do. Join us at Mobile Bay Real Producers.

JASON JASON

REES

Putting It All Together

Jason Rees has always been a builder—of businesses, careers, and now, dreams of homeownership. As a REALTOR® with RE/MAX Paradise, Jason’s path to real estate is a testament to adaptability, resilience, and a deep commitment to family.

From Electrical Contracting to Real Estate

Jason’s professional journey started long before he earned his real estate license in February 2023. Coming from a family with deep roots in construction, his early years included working alongside his father, who built cell towers in the late 1980s. Jason spent school breaks helping out and later carved his own path in the industry.

After a stint as an executive headhunter in Chicago, Jason realized office life wasn’t for him. In 2000, he returned home and launched an electrical contracting business with his father, eventually expanding across four states. His entrepreneurial spirit didn’t stop there. In 2013, Jason and his wife, Sara, purchased a restaurant in Missouri while raising three children under the age of three. They successfully built that business before selling it in 2015, along with a 9-hole golf course and a fiberglass manufacturing company.

By 2018, Jason and his brother took over their father’s business and expanded it nationally, handling all aspects of cell tower construction. But after a grueling five-month project in 2022 that kept him away from his family, Jason made a lifechanging decision.

“I told my wife I was done,” he recalls. “I had missed too many of my kids’ games and important moments.”

He sold the business to his brother and started looking for a new opportunity— one that would allow him to be present for his family.

A Seamless Transition

Enter Greg Maynard, a friend in real estate who suggested Jason consider the industry. Jason went to work with Greg and the Greg Maynard Team at RE/ MAX Paradise was formed. With years of business experience and a knack for managing projects, Jason found the transition straightforward in some ways—record-keeping, organization, and communication came naturally. However, he quickly realized that success in real estate required a significant investment of time and effort.

“I didn’t realize how much work it actually took to build your client base,” Jason admits. “It takes time and dedication to get established.”

But Jason embraced the challenge and hit the ground running. In 2024, his first full year as an agent, he achieved nearly $6 million in sales volume—an impressive feat for a newcomer.

Loving the Business

For Jason, real estate is a constant learning experience. “Every day, I

learn something new,” he says. “Even professionals who have been in the business for years say the same thing.”

Being part of one of the most successful brokerages in Alabama has accelerated his growth. “Working with Broker Susan Shallow and her husband, Bob, who own RE/MAX Paradise, is wonderful. The professionalism at RE/ MAX Paradise is top-notch, and I’m surrounded by some of the hardestworking realtors in the state.”

Family First

While his career is thriving, Jason’s greatest joy is his family. He and Sara have three children—Brogen (15), Beckett (14), and Harlee (12).

“We love spending time together, whether it’s at the beach, riding bikes, or playing sports,” Jason shares. “We travel when we can, and one of our favorite destinations is the Florida Keys.”

“THE BIGGEST LESSON I’VE LEARNED IS THE IMPORTANCE OF REALLY LISTENING TO CLIENTS— UNDERSTANDING THEIR NEEDS, WANTS, AND BUDGETS.”

Their entrepreneurial spirit remains strong, as they also own The Galley on the River, a restaurant in Bon Secour, Alabama, adding another exciting layer to their busy lives.

Giving Back and Staying Grounded Faith and community play a central role in Jason’s life. He and his family are active members of Our Lady of the Gulf Church in Gulf Shores, where they find support and connection beyond their professional endeavors.

Advice

for Aspiring Agents

Jason credits his early success in real estate to discipline and client-focused service. His advice to new agents?

“Show up every day, make the calls, and put in the time,” he emphasizes. “The biggest lesson I’ve learned is the importance of really listening to clients—understanding their needs, wants, and budgets. I check the MLS every day to stay on top of new listings and opportunities.”

A Reputation Built on Trust

When asked how he wants to be remembered in the industry, Jason’s answer is simple: “Hard-working, dedicated, and

professional. I put my clients first and help them with whatever they need.”

That commitment has already resulted in a steady stream of referrals—a clear sign that Jason is building yet another successful venture, this time one home at a time.

Never Never A Dull Moment

“People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget the way you made them feel.” -Maya Angelou

Realtor Dawn Hebert Beasley said this quote by Maya Angelou has stuck with

her throughout her adult life, personally and professionally.

“I am very intentional and conscious of how I want to make people feel when I am helping them with their real estate needs,” said Beasley.

“I have realized that most clients are not interested

in the intricate details and tasks that I deal with along the road to a successful transaction. They are mostly concerned with the outcome. They also need to feel safe, secure and confident of my skill, experience, knowledge and capabilities.”

Early Career

A self-proclaimed serial entrepreneur, Beasley said she started in real estate working for a developer and found running the transactions to be a fun part of the job. Taking on a more committed role, Beasley has been a real estate agent for more than four decades and says she loves how every transaction has its own unique set of circumstances, needs, challenges and rewards. “I absolutely love meeting my clients and customers where they are, learning and leaning into their needs and desires, then designing a plan for them that’s a good fit to help them achieve their goals,” said Beasley. “Although I bring the same skillset and procedures to each transaction, my methods and mode of interaction is totally dictated by the individual. I mean an engineer is going to have unique needs compared to an artist. I feel blessed to have the flexibility and openness to work with each individual’s frame of reference and personality.”

Over those decades, Beasley has been successful, having more than 322 transactions and over $146 million in sales with Bellator Real Estate. Beasley says she chose to work at Bellator because of its connection to the quality homes built by Truland Homes. Now, she says she specializes in general real estate. “I have come to have a great appreciation for all the support, tools and training we are given at Bellator,” said Beasley. “I also love my small office in Fairhope with its family atmosphere, encouraging and supportive colleagues, and my broker,

Terryl Reeves and our admin, Kristina Childress, are always available, helpful and kind. Most of all I love that we laugh a lot, since that is another one of my most favorite things to do!”

Southern Roots

A native of southern Louisiana, Beasley moved to Naples, Florida and started a family. After 13 years, she longed to get back to her Southern roots. “It (Naples) is a beautiful place, but I dearly missed living in the charming, true south,” said Beasley.” I missed the kindness, the manners, the pace, the roots, and even the Spanish moss. With three children under the age of six, my yearning became stronger because I wanted them to grow

boarding, pickleball, cooking, travel, yoga and meditation. Beasley says she enjoys sharing these activities with her middle school sweetheart, Dan Beasley, whom she married in 2014.

“He is my partner in crime and my best friend,” she said.

“We both feel truly blessed to have found each other after many years apart.”

Another part of Beasley’s family she beams about is her children. “I have often referred to my three children as my three reasons for my happiness, my motivation and my purpose,” she said.

“Now that they have grown, they certainly all are my reasons to pop buttons with pride and joy. It is so rewarding and so much fun watching them become

independent, successful and happy on their individual life paths. I mean, what more could a mama want?”

Laissez le bon temps rouler!

Never one to stay still for long, Beasley also is active with the local chapter of the LSU Alumni Organization, The Baldwin Bengals, serving as its president. “We have so many Louisiana transplants here in Baldwin County, so depending on the talent, the coaching and the season, we all enjoy gathering to either celebrate or commiserate during football watching parties,” she added.

Gulf Coast Fan

When talking about her work, Beasley gets excited to promote the area for her

up with all those things I was missing.”

One trip to celebrate Mardi Gras on the Gulf Coast was just the visit she needed to bring her home. “I fell in love with Fairhope and Baldwin County because it gave me a feeling of peace and connection that I had been missing. After three months, we moved to Fairhope, and I have no regrets about that decision.”

Anything Outdoors

When Beasley is not working, she says her favorite activities are “anything outdoors.” Born in the South, she says she grew up “on, in, below or near the water.” She enjoys boating, fishing, kayaking, scuba diving, stand up paddle

clients and everyone else she meets. “I am such a huge fan of the Gulf Coast, and I would tell anyone interested in the South, it is the best of all worlds. With its true

Friendly Advice

When speaking to new agents in the area, she says her main advice for them would be to be very intentional about where they choose to put their license.

“Getting a real estate license does in no way prepare you for the challenges of selling real estate,” she warned.

“You will need more training, ongoing support and mentors who will help you along the way. I would also recommend that they never give up. Just keep doing the right things for the right reasons and keep taking advantage of educational opportunities and it will all work out for them to grow a successful business.”

Real Estate is not Boring

Beasley says she doesn’t do boring very well, and lives a full life with her husband, her children and her fulfilling career.

When thinking back on her work, she says she loves working in Baldwin County because of its diversity. She said she could be marketing a beach house, some farmland, and a neighborhood home all at the same time. Definitely, not a boring career.

Southern charm, it really is a small community, full of kind and friendly people.

The landscape is filled with moss draped live oaks, winding rivers, Mobile Bay, the Gulf and one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Oh, and how could one forget to mention the tasty food, fun events, and a great music scene.”

“I am deeply cognoscente of the fact that purchasing or selling a home is an extremely emotional experience,” she said. “If I can provide a calming, safe space for my clients, it makes the entire experience more enjoyable, less stressful, and, ultimately, more successful.”

HALEY COCHRAN

RESULTS THROUGH TRUST

For Haley Cochran, insurance isn’t just about policies and premiums—it’s about people.

As the Agency Manager of EZ Insurance Agency, LLC, she’s spent over a decade helping clients find the right coverage while also fostering a strong sense of trust and community. Her journey in the industry, her dedication to her team, and her passion for connecting with clients make her a standout leader in the field.

A Family Legacy

Fifteen years ago, Haley’s father established EZ Insurance Agency with a vision to provide comprehensive and customer-focused insurance solutions. It didn’t take long for Haley to follow in his footsteps. Twelve years ago, she joined the agency as a receptionist, learning the ins and outs of the business before becoming a licensed agent. Today, she oversees daily operations and ensures that both the team and their clients receive top-tier support.

“I started at the front desk, just learning the ropes,” Haley recalls. “Getting my license opened the door to working

directly with clients, and I knew pretty quickly that this was the right fit for me.

I love what I do.”

A Dedicated Team and Personalized Service

Based in Sims, EZ Insurance Agency operates with a close-knit team of four full-time staff members. As an independent agency, they have the advantage of shopping multiple markets and assessing different levels of risk, giving them the flexibility to find the best policies tailored to each client’s unique needs.

“We really work for our clients,” Haley emphasizes. “Being independent means we aren’t tied to just one provider. Instead, we can explore various options to ensure our clients get the coverage that truly fits their situation. It’s not just about selling insurance—it’s about finding solutions that make sense.”

This personalized approach sets EZ Insurance Agency apart. Whether a client is searching for home, auto, or business coverage, Haley and her team take the time to educate them on their options, ensuring they feel confident in their choices.

A Passion for Helping People

What makes Haley’s role so fulfilling is the opportunity to connect with people from all walks of life. Her daily interactions with clients bring her a sense of purpose and joy.

“I love talking to people, learning their stories, and figuring out how we can help,” she says. “It’s about building relationships, not just making transactions. When a client leaves our office feeling happy and secure with their coverage, that’s what matters most.”

For Haley, every client interaction is a chance to make a positive impact. She understands that insurance can sometimes feel overwhelming, so she strives to simplify the process and offer reassurance along the way.

Motivation and Drive

INSURANCE CAN BE COMPLICATED, BUT WE’RE HERE TO MAKE IT EASIER. WE WANT OUR CLIENTS TO FEEL SECURE AND SATISFIED WITH THE CHOICES THEY MAKE.”

Beyond her dedication to her clients and team, Haley finds motivation in her family. As a mother to two children, Rosie and Dean, she sees her work as more than just a job—it’s a way to provide stability and security for her family.

“My kids are my biggest motivators,” she shares. “They inspire me to work hard and set an example of dedication and perseverance.”

At home, Haley’s life is just as full as it is in the office. She balances her career with raising her children, spending quality time with her family, and caring for their two cats.

Life Beyond Work

While insurance plays a significant role in her life, Haley makes time for her personal passions. She’s an avid reader, finding joy and relaxation in a good book. Music is another major part of her life, and she loves attending concerts whenever she gets the chance.

“There’s nothing quite like the experience of live music,” she says. “It’s a great way to unwind and just enjoy the moment.”

A Lasting Impression

Haley’s goal is simple: she wants every client to walk away from their experience with EZ Insurance Agency feeling confident and happy with their coverage.

“I would hope that people remember their experience with us as a positive one,” she says. “Insurance can be complicated, but we’re here to make it easier. We want our clients to feel secure and satisfied with the choices they make.”

Without a doubt, Haley Cochran is not just an insurance professional—she’s a trusted advisor, a community leader, and a genuine advocate for her clients. For questions about EZ Insurance, contact Haley at (251) 645-7283 or haley@ezinsurancellc.com

ANDREW

LEWIS

A Good Foundation

Mobile Bay Real Producers April Broker-InCharge, Andrew Lewis, is a Louisiana native who has found success as a pillar of the Baldwin County community.

“I grew up in Opelousas, just north of Lafayette, in the heart of Cajun country.” Lewis said.

A well-rounded student, Lewis made excellent grades while excelling athletically, competing in golf, basketball and baseball, graduating from Beau Chene High School in 2005.

Afterwards, Lewis attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette on an academic scholarship and graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He also met his wife, Hope, in college with the two of them married not long after finishing college and wanting to make their mark in the world.

Initially, Andrew faced a challenging job market with few opportunities at the time, and despite overwhelming uncertainty, he refused to give up. Leaning into his Christian faith and trusting God’s plan for the future, his perseverance paid off when eventually landing a job as an oil and gas land man.

The position opened doors for Lewis and introduced him to the world of real estate, and ignited his passion for the real estate industry.

The experiences and skills he gained during that time also laid a strong foundation for his future career path, learning the importance of resilience and faith in overcoming obstacles.

The initial steps in his journey also taught Andrew that, with determination and trust in God, he could turn challenges into valuable stepping stones toward success.

After accomplishing much in the field, when the oil and gas sector’s downturn was initially seen in 2014, Andrew made the decision to transition to a more secure career path in pursuit of greater stability.

“I was eventually hired by Lamar Advertising in Baton Rouge in acquisition, development and management of properties for outdoor advertising. During that time, I reconnected with a college buddy who was a very successful Realtor with Keller Williams. It was

around this time when my fascination with real estate truly emerged.” Lewis said.

Andrew excelled at Lamar and in 2016 picked up his real estate license as an additional endeavor at Keller Williams. Soon, he was seeing success in dual careers.

“I learned the ropes from my top-producing friend for the first six months. Later, going out on my own, it was a very successful sidehustle for the next four years.” Lewis said.

Anchored by a powerful faith in Christ, Andrew and Hope have always strongly believed that, through prayer, God’s hand will guide them down the right path for their lives.

One remarkable “God moment” stands out above many while vacationing in Florida.

“We were happy with our lives and vacationing in Florida. While sitting in awe of our beautiful surroundings, my wife jokingly asked if I could transfer over here. After explaining that those positions rarely open up, a phone call from my regional manager came in only a few hours later.” Lewis said.

“He said that the representative working out of Mobile was moving to Birmingham and I

“Wise Living Real Estate could not have felt more like home, but after a few years, I felt the push to once again step out in faith and made the decision to go out on my own. I established Lewis & Co. Real Estate in the summer of 2023.” Andrew said.

Fast forward to today and Lewis now has seven agents working at his brokerage.

When asked for advice to give those inspired by his remarkable journey, Andrew offered a powerful verse from Bible scripture, Matthew 6:33:

“Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

“I urge my agents to build a solid foundation before entering the challenging world of real estate, as this industry is not for the faint of heart.”

was his first choice as a replacement. It was incredible. We prayed about it, and decided that the Lord was making a heavy push for us to move.” he continued.

In 2018 Andrew accepted the promotion and the young family soon found themselves living in the Port City. Lewis sunk his teeth into the role and also picked up his Alabama real estate license. In 2020, during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, and bucking conventional wisdom at the time, Andrew felt another strong pull to leave his stable job, step out in faith, and sell real estate full-time.

“At this point I had been successfully selling real estate for years and felt very comfortable doing it, but we still needed to seek guidance through prayer” Andrew said.

“We trusted that the Lord wanted us to lay the groundwork for a vision still ahead. We sold our house in Mobile, moved to Fairhope and I started the journey of being a Qualifying Broker for Keller Williams.” Lewis said.

After a few years, Andrew transitioned into the role of Qualifying Broker at Wise Living Real Estate, led by Laura Norton and Sandy Wise who soon became like family to Andrew and Hope.

“I urge my agents to build a solid foundation before entering the challenging world of real estate, as this industry is not for the faint of heart. I believe that being grounded in Christ provides the strength and resilience needed to thrive in this field, reminding us that our true purpose goes beyond being a realtor; it is about fulfilling the calling the Lord has for us and choosing joy throughout the journey,” Andrew concluded.

FAQ

Welcome to Real Producers! Some of you may be wondering what this publication is all about, which is why we have created this FAQ page. Here, we will answer the most commonly asked questions from around the country regarding our program. My door is always open to discuss anything regarding this community — this publication is 100% designed to be your voice!

Q: WHO RECEIVES THIS MAGAZINE?

A: The top 300 agents in the Mobile Bay Area. We pulled the MLS numbers (by volume) from Jan. 1, 2021, through Dec. 31, 2021, in Mobile and Baldwin Counties. We cut the list off at number 300, and the distribution was born. For this year’s list, the minimum production level for our group is $7 million in 2021. The list will reset at the end of 2022 for next year and will continue to update annually.

Q: WHAT IS THE PROCESS FOR BEING FEATURED IN THIS MAGAZINE?

A: The process is simple. Every feature you see has first been nominated. You can nominate REALTORS®, agents, affiliates, brokers, owners, or even yourself. Office leaders can also nominate real estate agents. We will consider anyone you bring to our attention because we don’t know everyone’s story, and we need your help to learn more.

A nomination currently looks like this: Email us at robert. orso@realproducersmag.com with the subject line “Nomination: (Name of Nominee)” and explain why you are nominating the individual. Maybe the person has an amazing

story that we need to tell, or perhaps someone overcame extreme obstacles, is an exceptional leader, has the best customer service, or gives back to the community in a big way. The next step is an interview with us to ensure a good fit, and then we put the wheels in motion for our writer to conduct an interview and for our photographer to schedule a photo shoot.

Q: WHAT IS THE COST TO FEATURE A REALTOR®, AGENT, OR TEAM?

A: Zero, zilch, zippo, nada, nil. The feature costs nothing, my friends, so nominate away! We are not a pay-to-play model. We share real stories of Real Producers.

Q: WHO ARE THE PREFERRED PARTNERS?

A: Anyone listed as a preferred partner in the front of the magazine is a part of this community and will have an ad in every issue of the magazine, attend our quarterly events, and be a part of our online community. We don’t just find these businesses off the street, nor do we work with all businesses that approach us. One or many of you have recommended every preferred partner you see in this publication. We won’t even meet with a business that you have not vetted and stamped for approval, in a sense. Our goal is to create a powerhouse network for the REALTORS® and agents in the area and for the best affiliates so we can grow stronger together.

Q: HOW CAN I RECOMMEND A PREFERRED PARTNER?

A: If you have a recommendation for a local business that works with top real estate agents, please let us know. Send an email to robert.orso@realproducersmag.com.
