On September 17, AARCS Calgary hosted its annual Jail & Bail event. Our beloved Max joined local celebrities like Harvey the Hound and Batman in jail with a goal of raising $3500 in bail money to help his furry friends! We also collected approximately $1000 in donated wish list items across all 3 of our campuses!
Thank you to everyone that contributed. We surpassed our goals and donated more than $5000 in total to help the AARCS foundation!

We all know that famous phrase “I’ll get to it soon” or “I have plenty of time, I’ll do it later” – this isn’t really a very good study strategy. Then things come up and life gets in the way and you’re pressured or run out of time. A much better strategy is to intentionally plan study sessions as soon as you know your quiz or exam dates.
Look at your calendar and schedule specific times to devote to studying. It is best to aim to study a bit each day to keep the content fresh in your mind and to avoid really long hard study sessions, but other commitments may require that some study sessions are longer than others.
For those harder classes or classes worth more credits – give yourself more time to study for these to ensure you are familiar with the material before exam day. If you give yourself even just 30 minutes a day to review the content, you’d be surprised at how much more confident you’ll feel come exam day, without the added stress of cramming at the last minute. And 30-minute study sessions are easier to fit into a busy schedule than multiple hours. It is also proven that these short frequent study sessions help you retain more information for a longer period of time.
