On Monday 8 th May 2023, two Missionary Sisters of Charity, Sister M. “Your act of charity is a drop in an ocean, but the ocean is made out of these small drops.” Teacher Martin Azzopardi sdc offered the Morning Prayer intention for the Missionary Sisters of Charity and highlighted their hard work and mission in Malta. The Missionary Sisters of Charity, better known as the Sisters of Mother Teresa, opened their house in Cospicua, Malta in 1989 and they are admired by everyone for their humble work in the community especially in the area of Cottonera. Their founder, Mother Teresa visited Malta three times: first in 1967 followed by a short stop in 1971 and then also in 1976 where she addressed the Sixth World Congress of Lasallian Federations. Mother Teresa invited her followers to build their lives on the Eucharist and make it the focal point of their relationship with God and humanity. She used to say to her sisters: “Touch the poor as the priest touches the host during Mass”

A Maltese Jesuit priest, Father Paul Chetcuti

SJ met personally with Mother Theresa in 1971 and since then he worked closely with her and her sisters where he offered his spiritual assistance to the sisters at their Mother House in India.

At the end of this special event, the Head of School Mr Joseph Ellul expressed his words of admiration to all those who contributed to this charity campaign and reminded all the students that charity takes many forms, especially the way we talk and behave with each other. This project aims to reach two of the main goals proposed by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: Life on Land and Quality Education. Heartfelt thanks to the Missionary Sisters of Charity for their generous and humble work done in aid of many Maltese families and people in need. MAY GOD BLESS
