Ittra Ta’ Ringrazzjament

Thank You For Your Hospitality

Dear Monsignor Valentino,

I write to express my appreciation for the good missionary hospitality you gave me and Fr Kizito during the time we visited Malta earlier in June 2022. We enjoyed our stay and were very inspired by all the activities we were engaged in. Missio Malta remains for me an inspirational Missio that has empowered me with missionary animation skills and missionary solidarity spirit. Moreover, visiting Malta is always a blessing for me, also because of your rich Catholic faith and history. Despite the fact that the number of Catholics attending mass is going down, still, I do see and experience and smell the Catholic faith in the Maltese people and culture. There are many Catholic faith lessons I learnt from the Maltese people through the Missio activities and the visits to various sites, like the churches, cathedrals, chapels and other historical sights and archives.

I also appreciate so much the financial support you give to the Church and people of God in Malawi through various Missio projects and through the Mass Intentions you share with me and fellow priests. For all these, I thank you most sincerely and ask God to continue blessing you, Monsignor and all the Missio staff, volunteers, partners and Maltese people who are so generous and living their faith‑in‑action.

I am now getting busier every day as we start preparing for the October Mission Month and World

Mission Sunday on October 23rd. Today, I will be driving to the Diocese of Mangochi, almost 250km away, to give missionary animation to the parish leaders and later proceed to a rural parish for 150km in the same diocese to launch the preparations for World Mission Sunday campaign through Eucharist celebration, confirmation of young people and commissioning of local lay leaders who have to help in animation. All these movements and activities are possible, because of the masses you gave. They help me travel and organise some meetings. I will say the masses faithfully. I will also share some masses with some priests in the rural parishes I visit, those who are struggling. Our country is going through much more hard times economically. Prices of commodities are going high every day due to our weak currency which keeps on losing its value every day. Life is hard for priests in rural parish communities. However, we trust in God’s providence and care as we do his work for the salvation of souls.

Once again, thank you for the good time and for every experience in Malta in early June 2022. We continue to pray for each other.

Yours in the mission of Christ.

Fr Vincent Fredrick Mwakhwawa

National Director of PMS and National Chaplain of the Laity PMS National Office ‑ Episcopal Conference of Malawi 

Dear Monsignor Valent,

Receive my greetings from a cold Malawi. I hope that the Lord is keeping you well and in good health in your ministry. I am well in Malawi and happy to help out in one rural area of Malawi. I am based in the mountainous and cold parishes of our diocese. I love it here. I am very thankful for the experiences I had in Malta. The education that I got from the university was deep and relevant for my current pastoral work, and life in general. Thank you sincerely for that opportunity and your care. I will forever be grateful. I write to you also today to experience my commitment to celebrate the masses that you generously sent to me. Fr Vincent safely passed them over to me. I bind myself to celebrate the 90 Mass Intentions for S. Farrugia from the 1st of July. These masses have been timely and will be so helpful to me. Receive my sincere thanks and appreciations.

You will hear from me soon. Best wishes and greetings,

Jien. Int. Aħna.Jien. Int. Aħna. Flimkien.Flimkien.

“Għal kull minuta li tkun irrabjat titlef sittin sekonda ta’ ferħ.”

Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Tbissem fit‑8 t’Awwissu ‑ fil‑Jum Nazzjonali tal‑Ferħ. Fl‑1999, is‑Soċjetà Sigrieta ta’ Nies Ferħanin ħolqot il‑Jum Ammetti Li Int Ferħan. Eventwalment dan il‑jum evolva f’Jum il‑Ferħ, jum maħluq biex jiċċelebra l‑espressjoni tal‑kuntentizza. It‑8 ta’ Awwissu ntgħażel peress li huwa l‑anniversarju tat‑twaqqif tas‑soċjetà fl‑1998. Is‑soċjetà tħeġġeġ lill‑membri biex jagħrfu l‑mumenti ta’ ferħ tagħhom u jaħsbu ta’ kuljum dwar il‑kuntentizza f’ħajjithom. L‑iskop tagħhom huwa li jistimulaw id‑dritt tan‑nies li jesprimu l‑ferħ tagħhom.
