You are entering this field under incredible circumstances: the world is looking for innovative ways to stabilize and future-proof our health care system as we move into the recovery stage of the pandemic. During the past two years, Michener students have brought cutting-edge knowledge and experience into their professions, and it’s clear that you will also make our system better and stronger. I know how hard you’ve worked to get to this point in your education, and pursuing a career in health care during a pandemic means that this path is more than just a career for you; it’s about helping others in need and connecting with patients at the most challenging time in their lives. I can assure you that you will be surrounded by others here at Michener with the same vision and purpose, from classmates to faculty to alumni. This is what sets Michener apart. Throughout the pandemic, Michener’s faculty mobilized quickly to keep students on track. This couldn’t have happened without our deep education design expertise, commitment to our students and our innate agility. I am confident that Michener’s in-person activities will roll out at a safe pace this academic year, and we will follow all public health guidelines to ensure a positive campus Iexperience.wouldalso like to take this opportunity to introduce Dr. Harvey Weingarten, the Principal of Michener. STuDENTPRECOUNCILIDENT’ GREETINg

When I first learned of the Michener Institute I was fascinated by the high-tech machines, awardwinning programs, and the allure of living in downtown Toronto. I never expected to find such a caring and understanding group of support staff and healthcare professionals that I am lucky to call my classmates, teachers, and colleagues.

We are committed to bringing students closer together through any and all platforms. We work closely with the Learning Resource Centre (LRC) and Student Success Network (SSN) to help make this mission possible. May your time at Michener not only help to shape you into the best possible healthcare professional but allow you to meet new people and develop new relationships within and outside of your program. One thing almost any upper year will recommend is to get involved! Whether you apply to be a student representative for Student Council, or you attend our events, the Student Council welcomes you to Michener.
