Ceilings,Walls & Partitions
Multipor boards insulate European Council walls Xella Multipor mineral insulation boards with a lambda value of 0.045 W/mK have been used to insulate internal walls of the £280million European Council headquarters in Brussels. They were specified to provide a complete envelope for the Art Deco building which sits alongside a new state of the art glass and timber wing described as Herman Van Rompuy’s ‘Gilded cage’ and ‘Jewel Box’. In the restoration of historic buildings, insulating the internal surface of solid walls invariably present the only practical means of thermal improvement. Multipor has a 15-year track record in such situations and offers the combined benefits of low material cost and speed of installation. Armstrong metal Ceilings help give an office building a new lease of life
Marley Eternit Equitone creates a work of art
Metal tiles from Armstrong Ceilings were specified for the stunning speculative refurbishment of a central London office building for a hat-trick of reasons.
EQUITONE [tectiva] has helped turn an Information Kiosk into a work of art at the Edinburgh Art Festival.
Armstrong’s MicroLook micro-perforated 600mm x 600mm tiles with a B15 acoustic infill have been suspended from a Microlook Microline grid at Bracton House, a 23,000ft2, six-storey office building in High Holborn. This is one of the first uses in the UK of the Microline grid system which combines an exposed sleeve for a clean and crisp visual with a practical threaded reveal for flexibility in partition fixing and relocation. The system was specified for the £1.5 million refurbishment by architects Stavros Nissiotis Architectural Studio for its quality, aesthetics and functionality but also because of the standard of service the practice received from the manufacturer. To view the Bracton House project go to – www.armstrong-ceilings.co.uk/projectgallery.
Four-by-Two Consultants specified EQUITONE [tectiva] for the kiosk on George Street because they liked the natural aesthetic and design purity of the fibre cement material, ideal for creating a focal point at the UK's largest annual festival of visual art. Pebble colour was chosen, with its through colour, characteristic fine sanded lines and natural occurring hues. Marley Eternit fibre cement architectural facades offer an installed life expectancy of at least 50 years and can achieve an A+ rating as defined in the BRE Green Guide to Specification. Eircom get a facelift from Remmers
The Eircom exchange building, constructed in the 1970’s, consists of a rendered exterior of architectural interest and features curves and round “porthole” style windows. The exterior render was suffering with a high degree of cracking. Repairs to the render were carried out using Betofix RM, a fast cure feather edge repair mortar prior to application of the coating system.

Remmers Elastoflex system was chosen to accommodate the anticipated movement and give a high degree of finish to the exterior.
