l novedoso producto de Oakley trae consigo una gran cantidad de tecnología que hasta ahora no se encontraba en gafas de esquí. Entre las prestaciones de los goggles se encuentra un dispositivo GPS que permite tanto conocer nuestra ubicación respecto de un punto, como ver dónde se encuentran amigos que también los estén usando en las cercanías, esta última característica es conocida como buddy tracking. Un sensor incorporado le brinda acceso instantáneo sobre el análisis de un salto mostrando distancia, altura y tiempo en el aire. Otra incorporación revolucionaria de las gafas es la pantalla que se encuentra en su interior, en la esquina inferior derecha. La misma permite ver información de velocidad, altitud y tiempo que pasamos en el aire; así como también ver qué canción estamos escuchando. Sin embargo las funciones no terminan ahí, las gafas pueden vincularse a un smartphone a través de bluetooth de bajo consumo para mostrar los mensajes y llamadas que entran al teléfono. No obstante no permite atender llamadas por motivos de seguridad del usuario. Las funciones que se exhiben en la pantalla interior son controladas con un pequeño pad que se utiliza en la muñeca como un reloj y que permite alternar las métricas y las canciones que se reproducen. Among the features of the goggles is a GPS device that marks one’s location, enables finding friends that are also using the goggles in the area, this last feature is known as “buddy tracking.” Onboard sensors give you instant access to jump analytics that show distance, height and airtime. Another revolutionary innovation of the goggles is a screen that will be found on the inside at the bottom right corner. It will make it possible to see information about speed, altitude, and air time; and, you can see what song is being listened to. However, its functions do not end there, the goggles can be linked to a Smartphone through low power consumption Bluetooth in order to display messages and incoming calls. Yet, it is not possible to answer calls for security reasons of the user. e la tarea conjunta entre la Bodega Rutini y el hotel de la calle Arroyo nació un vino de alta gama y partida limitada que celebra los primeros 10 años de vida del establecimiento. En los viñedos de Rutini en Tupungato un equipo del Sofitel Buenos Aires descubrió que hacer un vino es mucho más que sembrar, cosechar y prensar las uvas. El enólogo de la bodega, Mariano Di Paola, preparó diez cortes distintos de vinos tintos para que el equipo de Sofitel probara a ciegas hasta dar con aquel que reflejara el espíritu de excelencia del hotel. El elegido fue un vino de corte compuesto por un 90% de Malbec, un 5% de Cabernet Franc y otro 5% de Petit Verdot. Las Notas de Cata indican que tiene un color rojo purpúreo intenso y profundo, ligeramente translúcido. Su aroma es pronunciado con notas de frutos rojos y negros, pimienta negra, especias. En el paladar muestra muy buen balance entre acidez y taninos con un final de boca largo y sedoso. El resultado es un tinto impetuoso que lo hace versátil para distinto tipo de comidas y oportunidades de servicio. El vino lleva por nombre Antología XXXII Cosecha 2008, se sirve en los restaurantes del hotel y puede adquirirse en el mismo establecimiento y en algunas selectas vinerías para que los huéspedes puedan llevar de recuerdo al regresar a sus países o para los clientes locales que quieran seguir disfrutando de un vino muy especial en sus casas.

rom the joint venture between Rutini Bodega and the hotel on Arroyo Street was born a high-end and limited edition wine that celebrates the first ten years of the establishment. In the vineyards of Rutini in Tupungato and team from Sofitel Buenos Aires discovered that making a wine required much more than planting, harvesting, and pressing grapes. The oenologist of the winery, Mariano Di Paola, prepared ten different coupage wines for the team from Sofitel to try blindfolded until they selected the one that would reflect the spirit of the excellence of the hotel. The chosen one was a coupage that was 90% Malbec, 5% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Petit Verdot. The notes of the tasting indicate that it has a deep purple-red color, lightly translucent. Its aroma is strong with fruity notes of reds and blacks, black pepper, and spices. The taste is very balanced between acidity and tannin with a finale that is long and silken. The result is an impetuous red that makes it versatile for various types of meals and occasions. The wine carries the name Antología XXXII 2008 and is served in the hotel restaurants and can be purchased therein and in some select wine shops so that guests can take along a memory when the return to their countries and for local customers that want to go on enjoying a very special wine at home.

alta tiene sus atractivos naturales vigentes cada día del año, y por eso recorrerlos es tan apasionante como llegar al destino. Los caminos que la atraviesan, cual venas de vida, no son meras calzadas de pavimento que unen pueblos, sino más bien una intensiva lección de historia que nos traslada al rico pasado de la provincia.

(Bishop’s Sleep Hill), then in 1622, the bishop of Tucumán, Julián de Cortázar, who traveled from the provincial capital to Cachi, had to spend the night uncomfortably halfway up the hill. With time, the name was simplified to what it is now—Bishop’s Hill. The dizzying path winds to Piedra del Molino, which is the highest point between Salta and Cachi, located at an altitude of 3,348, arrived at San Rafael chapel where those who visit it offer coca leaves, and chew others in order to mollify altitude sickness. In addition, there is a granite stone that was used for grinding and gives the name to this site. The story goes that this rock was carried by a deputy on a cart to the city of Salta, where it served first as a grinding stone in the city since 1671. Then, when it made it to this height, the cart broke. The owner decided to leave it and continue on his way, but he never returned for it. Presently, the hill of 20 kilometers is wide, with rails, and permanently maintained. Its beauty is different according to whether one is going up or down, and whether one travels in the morning

Inicialmente, se había denominado como Cuesta de la dormida del Obispo, ya que en 1622 el obispo del Tucumán, Julián de Cortázar, que viajaba desde la capital provincial a Cachi, tuvo que pernoctar incómodamente a mitad de la cuesta. Con el tiempo, el nombre se simplificó al actual. El sendero vertiginoso serpentea hasta llegar a Piedra del Molino, que es el punto más alto entre Salta y Cachi, con 3348 metros de altura, allí se emplaza la capilla San Rafael, donde quienes la visitan ofrendan hojas de coca, y mastican otras tantas para evitar el apuntamiento. Además, se encuentra una piedra de granito que era utilizada para moler, y que le da el nombre a este sitio. Cuenta la historia que esta roca era llevada por un lugarteniente en carreta rumbo a la ciudad de Salta, donde funcionó el primer molino de la ciudad desde el año 1671. Cuando llegó a esta altura del camino, la carreta se rompió. El dueño decidió dejarla y seguir su camino, pero jamás regresó por ella. En la actualidad, la cuesta, de 20 km., es ancha, enripiada y permanentemente conservada. Su belleza es distinta según se suba o se baje; se la recorra por la mañana o por la tarde. Y las estaciones del año también hacen lo

suyo: la primavera le obsequia el verde tierno y floral a sus montañas; el verano la colma de torrentes rumorosos que se escurren entre las piedras y el verdor maduro de las hierbas silvestres, mientras que el otoño salpica con amarillentos manchones. Finalmente, el riguroso invierno a veces la viste de blanco y le congela sus arroyos cristalinos, pero siempre permanece desnuda la cuesta para que muestre su piel mineral. El valle encantado se encuentra casi en la cima de la Cuesta del Obispo. Es un paraje extraordinario donde conviven la forma y el color, la fauna y la flora. Allí, la erosión eólica y la lluvia han esculpido sugestivas formas. Se puede observar allí una pequeña laguna y pinturas rupestres en el interior de cuevas y aleros. En el camino, el viajero podrá contemplar con cuidado animales salvajes de todo tipo, como pumas y zorros. También es lugar del avistamiento del Cóndor. Viejos pobladores de la zona cuentan que durante la época colonial, y hasta principios del siglo XX, un viaje desde la ciudad de Salta hasta la localidad de Molinos (distante unos 210 kilómetros) duraba no menos de tres días. El recorrido se iniciaba en coche tirado por caballos hasta el pie de la cuesta, donde se pernoctaba y posteriormente continuaba su ascenso a caballo o a lomo de mula.

The seasons of the year also make it different, spring is a gift and tender green in color with flowers covering the mountains; summer is the rainy season that cover the landscape and rocks and the color is a mature green of forest vegetation, while autumn splashes the landscape with dense tones of yellow. Finally, the harsh winters are at times white and the crystalline streams freeze, but the hill remains naked, showing its mineral surface. The enchanted valley is found almost at the peak of Cuesta del Obispo. It is an extraordinary place where form and color, flora and fauna blind together. There the wind erosion and the rain have sculpted suggestive forms. There a small lake and picturesque cave paintings are in the caves and eaves. On the road, the traveler can contemplate with care and interest wild animals of every kind, there are pumas and fox. There is a place, too, of observation of the Condor. The old settlers of the área tell that during the colonial period and until the beginning of the 20th century of a trip from the city of Salta to the settlement of Molinos (a distance of 210 km) lasted no less than three days. The trip began in a coach pulled by horses to the foot of the hill, where one spent the night and later continued the journey by horse or on the back of a mule.

Recta del Tin Tin Abandonando La Cuesta del Obispo y la Piedra del Molino, el sendero sigue su camino en forma descendente, donde los cóndores planean en círculos, tras haberse arrojado desde los macizos que ornamentan el primer tramo del camino. Finalmente, luego de este trayecto inicial, se observa infinita la Recta del Tin Tin, que se funde en el horizonte como un espejismo, sin atisbos de cuándo terminará. Este trazo vial data del período incaico, cuando una parte del Camino del Inca atravesaba este territorio, y constituye una recta perfecta a lo largo de 18 kilómetros, a 3000 metros de altura. La cultura popular dice que debe su nombre al ruido que hacían las pezuñas de las mulas al caminar sobre las piedras que cubrían el camino. La Recta del Tin Tin se adentra en el corazón del Parque Nacional los Cardones, y permite una vista del horizonte completamente alucinante. A los costados de la ruta persiste el desierto poblado de cardones (entre los cuales se hallan ejemplares de más de 50 años de edad), cuyo fondo se vuelve pictórico, jugando a fantasear con las cúspides nevadas de las montañas. Hacia el final de la recta, un cartel indica que se accede al Parque Nacional Los Cardones. Un poco más adelante la ruta se bifurca, saliendo hacia la derecha un camino (RP 42) de ripio hacia el Río Calchaquí, en dirección a Seclantás, mientras que la RP 33 prosigue pavimentada por un corto tramo.

Recta del Tin Tin (Tin Tin Stage) Leaving La Cuesta del Obispo and the Piedra del Molino, the trail continues downhill, where condors circle overhead, after taking off from the blocks that decorate the first stretch of the road. Finally, after this beginning travel, la Recta del Tin Tin looms up on the horizon like a mirage, without any indication of where it will end. This line of road dates from the period of the Inca, when part of the Camino del Inca (Inca Highway) crossed this territory and was a perfectly straight line of 18 kilometers at an altitude of 3,000 meters. Popular culture says that its name come from the noise that the hoofs of mules made on the rocks that covered the road. The Recta del Tin Tin is found at the heart of the National Cardons Park and provides a fantastic view of the horizon. On the sides of the route is the desert covered with the Cardon cactus (some of which are 50 years old), whose appearance is so picturesque, playing fantasies with the snow-covered peaks of the mountains. At the end of the trail there is a sign that says that here is the entrance to the National Cardons Park. A little farther on the route divides, on the right heading to RP 42 as a gravel road to the CalchaquĂ River in the direction of SeclantĂĄs, while the other heads to RP 33 as a paved road for a short span.

uando Juan de Garay fundó la actual Buenos Aires jamás imaginó que la Plaza Mayor, como se llamaba en esa época, sería el escenario de eventos clave para nuestro país como la revuelta que logró remover al Virrey Cisneros del poder. De la histórica plaza surgen las avenidas Presidente Julio A. Roca, Presidente Roque Sáenz Peña y Avenida de Mayo. Además, en sus alrededores se yerguen edificios de alto calibre histórico y artístico.
Plaza de Mayo Hoy la conocemos como una plaza de árboles y pastos verdes y fértiles, pero durante la época colonial era sólo una parcela de tierra, con una pirámide en el medio, a modo de coronación. La pirámide de Mayo tampoco era como la conocemos ahora; en lugar de la estatua representativa de la libertad que hoy está en su cima, se hallaba una forma similar a la de una lámpara antigua. Además, se encuentra a unos 60 metros de distancia más lejos del Cabildo que en sus comienzos, ya que se había planeado la construcción de un monumento magnífico, que contuviera a la pirámide. Este proyecto nunca se llevó a cabo.

hen Juan de Garay founded what is today Buenos Aires he never imagine that the Plaza Mayor (Central Square), as he called it in that time, would be the scene of key events for our country like the uprising that removed the Viceroy Cisneros from power. From that historic plaza emerges these important avenues: President Julio A. Roca, Presidente Roque Sáenz Peña, and the Avenida de Mayo. In addition, around this area are many of the most artistic and historic buildings.
Plaza de Mayo Today we know it as a fertile plaza filled with trees and green lawn, but during the colonial era it was just a parcel of land with a pyramid in the middle, a kind of coronation. The pyramid of Mayo was not as we know it now, in the place of the statue that represents liberty, today at the summit is found a form similar to an ancient lamp. And, some 60 meters from the Cabildo (town council building) there had been planned the construction of a magnificent monument that would contain the pyramid. This project was never carried out.

Cabildo Cuenta la leyenda que, en 1779, un rayo impactó contra la torre del edificio y chocó directamente contra la frase “Casa de justicia”, borrando la palabra “justicia”. El Cabildo funcionó durante 250 años como ayuntamiento del territorio competente a la gobernación de la ciudad de Buenos Aires, pero luego fue convertido en 1821 en un recinto donde se debatían normas jurídicas a nivel vecinal. Su edificio sufrió varias modificaciones. La primera importante fue en 1889 con la demolición de uno de sus costados para abrir la Avenida de Mayo. De paso, aprovecharon para destruir su torre, dado que ponía en peligro la estructura del edificio. Luego, en 1931, eliminaron parte del costado que seguía completo para la apertura de la diagonal Julio Argentino Roca, decisión a la que los habitantes se resistieron con protestas. Una década después, se reconstruyó la torre, y con el correr de los

años se le realizaron reformas estéticas y de mantenimiento, que lo llevaron al aspecto actual.
La Catedral La estructura religiosa que hoy está emplazada frente a la Plaza de Mayo es la sexta reconstrucción de lo que fue la Catedral Metropolitana de Buenos Aires en sus inicios. Aunque parezca increíble, nació como una choza de paja y adobe que en pocas décadas quedó completamente derrumbada, para luego dar paso a otro edificio sencillo, pero que tenía tejado de mayólica, dándole un poco de arte a la precaria edificación. Con el tiempo, a través de inversiones y donaciones, las remodelaciones fueron llegándole escalonadamente a la Catedral (un bastión incuestionable de Buenos Aires), hasta convertirla en el templo imponente que es hoy. Su construcción comenzó en 1852 pero su decoración finalizó en 1911.

Cabildo (Town Council) Legend says that in 1779, lightning struck the tower of the building and hit directly on the phrase “Casa de justicia” (House of Justice), erasing the Word “justice.” The Cabildo served for 250 years as the town hall of the territory for the government of the city of Buenos Aires but then became in 1821the place where laws were debated at the municipal level. The Cathedral The religious structure that today is at the front of the Plaza de Mayo is the sixth reconstruction of what was the Cathedral of Buenos Aires in the beginning. While it seems unbelievable, it was first a simple structure of straw and adobe that in a few decades completely collapsed, then there was another simple building, but it had a tile roof, giving a bit of art to the precarious structure. With time through investments and donations, remodelings were undertaken step-by-step to the Cathedral (an unquestionable bastion of Buenos Aires) until it became the imposing temple that it is today. Its construccion began in 1852, but it was completey decorated in 1911.

ien sabido es que la cultura de un pueblo va unida a las tradiciones y costumbres. Uno de estos casos más claros es Chubut, epicentro de una comunidad galesa que se asentó en el sur de nuestro país a fines del siglo XIX con la expedición del Coronel Fontana, y que aún hoy mantiene viva su esencia de antaño.
Un viaje de ida El 28 de julio de 1865 llegó a la Patagonia Argentina un grupo de 153 personas a bordo del velero “Mimosa”, que había partido de Liverpool. En estas “nuevas” tierras los primeros pobladores decidieron instalarse teniendo en consideración que el clima allí era similar al de su Gales natal y que los campos eran óptimos para el cultivo y la ganadería. Fiel a sus raíces, los habitantes actuales de esta localidad no dejan de lado sus tradiciones: por ello, una de las actividades más importantes que se hace en esta ciudad es el tour histórico que recorre el aporte cultural que realizó la colonia galesa. A través del mismo se podrá ingresar al Museo Molino de los Andes en el cual se detalla a través de documentos históricos y objetos antiguos, cómo fue la vida de la comunidad galesa cuando arribó al país. En este contexto, no puede dejarse de lado las bellas casas de té galés, donde el visitante podrá disfrutar de las mejores meriendas de estilo británico acompañadas de tortas típicas y mermeladas caseras.

One of the clearest examples of this is Chubut, epicenter of a Welsh community that settled in the south of our country at the end of the 19th century with the expedition of Colonel Fontana and which culture continues down to today.
The departure On the 28th of July a group of 153 arrived in the Argentine Patagonia on board the sailing ship “Mimosa” that had left from Liverpool. In these new lands the first settlers decided to stay, taking into consideration that the climate there was similar to their native Wales and the land was good for crops and cattle. Faithful to their roots, the present-day inhabitants of this area have not left their traditions, because of this one of the most important activities in this city is the historic tour that takes in the cultural contribution of the Welsh community. Likewise, visitors can go to the Molino Museum of the Andes where there are historical documents and various ancient objects that tell their story of the community life of the Welsh people when they arrived in the country. Not to be missed, too, are the beautiful Welsh tea houses where the visitor can enjoy the best afternoon snacks in the British style that are accompanied by typical cakes and homemade jellies.

En efecto, el Cymraeg o lengua galesa, se mantiene viva en la Patagonia pero es una reliquia; el Eisteddfod es una manifestación cultural basada en el canto y la poesía que tiene más de 800 años de antigüedad; y el ritual del tradicional té galés se sirve en las Casas de siguiendo las antiguas normas que regulan su preparación, se le añade una combinación de hierbas y se acompaña de tortas galesas, hechas con manteca y dulces caseros.

Del 12 de junio al 13 de julio los ojos y el corazón de millones de personas se dirigieron a Brasil para sufrir y emocionarse con las selecciones nacionales de 32 países de los 5 continentes que llegaron con la ilusión de cargar en sus manos la Copa de Campeón del Mundo FIFA en el estadio Maracaná de Río de Janeiro. Hoy, a la distancia, podemos ver con claridad lo que significó que Brasil fuera sede de tan importante torneo deportivo, y cómo desde Andes Líneas Aéreas tuvimos que involucrarnos para que miles de fanáticos pudieran vivir desde los estadios los partidos que la selección de Lionel Messi disputaba en una primera Fase en las ciudades de Río de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte y Porto Alegre. Claro que a medida que pasaban los partidos y los muchachos de Sabella daban otro paso más hacia esa gran Final tuvimos que viajar a San Pablo, sumar la ciudad de Brasilia, en el corazón del Amazonas y regresar a San Pablo para finalizar en la “cidade maravilhosa”, Río de Janeiro el domingo 13 de julio. Andes Líneas Aéreas estuvo volando con tres MD-83, en varias rotaciones diarias para poder cumplir con todos los compromisos adquiridos. Y orgullosamente podemos decir que cumplimos casi con puntualidad suiza con todos los horarios programados, y decimos casi, porque el mal clima nos jugó una mala pasada en dos oportunidades y sufrimos alguna demora que hizo tambalear el ánimo de más de uno, pero todo tuvo un final feliz. Fueron 9000 pasajeros que cumplieron su sueño, lo que no es poca cosa.
¿A quiénes llevamos?

From June 12 until July 13 all eyes and hearts of millions were turned to Brazil to feel the excitement and the suffering of the national teams of 32 countries from 5 continents that came with hopes of taking away the champion’s cup in the Maracaná Stadium in Río de Janeiro. Today, at a distance, we can see with some clarity what it meant that Brazil was the site of such an important sporting event, and even Andes Líneas Aéreas was deeply involved so that thousands of fans could live out the experience in the stadiums, as the the team of Lionel Messi fought through the first stages of the tournament in the cities of Río de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, and Porto Alegre. The games and the boys of Sabella went from one stage to another until they reached the grand final and we had to travel to Sao Paulo, add on the city of Brazilia in the heart of the Amazon Forest and then return to Sao Paulo and in the end to the “cidade maravilhosa” (wonderful city), Río de Janeiro on Sunday, July 13. Andes Líneas Aéreas was flying with three MD-83’s on various daily rotations to be able to meet all the commitments we had. And, proudly we can say that we fulfilled almost all of them with Swiss punctuality on our schedules, and we say almost because bad weather played us on two occasions and we experienced delays that shook us up a bit, nonetheless, everything had

Durante la primera Fase viajamos a Montevideo para llevar pasajeros a alentar a los “celestes”, que lamentablemente fueron eliminados en Octavos de Final frente a Colombia.
No sólo fútbol Ya antes de tan importante tarea nos mantuvimos bastante ocupados. Todo comenzó allá por julio del 2013 cuando movilizamos a muchos jóvenes argentinos a encontrarse con el Papa Francisco en Río de Janeiro para la XXVIII Jornada Mundial de la Juventud. También estuvimos trasladando a equipos y organizadores durante el Rally Dakar 2014 Argentina-BoliviaChile; fuimos parte importante de la gira de Paul Mc Cartney por Sudamérica y hasta de los Juegos Bolivarianos en Venezuela. Lamentablemente no pudimos festejar con el campeonato del mundo en Brasil, pero el subcampeonato es una conquista que nos debía el fútbol argentino desde 1990. Bien por esas 11 voluntades que dejaron todo en la cancha. Gracias.

Who did we carry? First of all we flew with a delegation of the Association of Argentine Football—AFA—carrying leaders and players’ families and technical crew to each game. We also flew with members of the media, both national and foreign, that covered the action of the Argentine team. We were the official transporters of Torneos y Competencias for all the games of Argentina. But not only Argentines flew to cheer on their team. Not only football Even before this important job we were very busy. It all began in July 2013, when we carried many Argentine young people to meet with Pope Francis in Río de Janeiro for the XXVII World Youth Day. Also, we were transporting teams and organizers during the 2014 Dakar Rally that included Argentina, Bolivia, and Chile; we were an important part of the Paul McCartney tour through South America, and even worked with the Bolivarian Games in Venezuela. Sadly, we could not celebrate with the world championship in Brazil, but being runner-up is a victory, too, one that has been owed to Argentine football since 1990. Congratulations to those 11 brave souls that gave their all on the field. Thanks. For our part, we take pride in our people that worked harder than ever for everyone that relies on us for the best experiences in life.
