Meldreth Primary School PTA After a busy but restful January our PTA energy and enthusiasm has returned. We are thrilled to be able to start spending our £20,000 to restore the school pool to its former glory. I’m sure there will be some updates on the progress of the work on the school website soon. We do, however, still have some funds for the swimming pool due to come in. And we are incredibly grateful for all who voted in the Asda Cambridge green tokens online vote. Voting closed at the end of January and we will be putting the money into our swimming pool fund. We shall be raising money for the ongoing upkeep of the school pool by introducing a few new projects this year, the first of which is the opportunity to sponsor a planter. Sponsor a Planter We have ten wooden spring planters available to sponsor. At a cost of £50 for the year, you or your business could plant up a box, or nominate a class to do it for you. It will be displayed until February 2023 when the boxes will be re-sponsored and refreshed. Bingo Bonanza: Friday 25th February In February we have the first of the year’s planned events. Starting with our big bingo bonanza on Friday 25th February, Covid permitting there will be kids’ bingo in the Village Hall from 5.00-6.30pm, costing £5 per player. Adult bingo will follow, with a 7.30pm start. Tickets cost £10 for six games, with lots of prizes on offer. Food and drinks will be available to purchase. Tickets are available from the school office or by contacting Meldrethpta@gmail.com. We will be trying our best to offer some other fun and covid safe fundraisers for the children this term too.
