Upcoming Exhibition +1

April19-June30, 2024

The tradition of pottery has historically depended on the unique relationship between mentors and mentees as a fundamental cornerstone of advancement. Established potters often take on apprentices or mentees to impart their knowledge, techniques, and artistic vision. This bond nurtures skill and cultivates a profound appreciation for the craft's heritage, cultural significance, and personal expression. Through guidance, critique, and shared experiences, mentors empower mentees to explore their creativity, hone their skills, and add their threads to the rich tapestry of pottery traditions.

+1 is an exhibition that endeavors to celebrate the interconnectedness of artistic lineage and creative inspiration in pottery. Each participating artist is tasked with extending an invitation to an artist they deeply respect or have been mentored by, reflecting the ethos of mentorship and collaboration inherent in pottery traditions. Through +1, audiences gain insight into the unique dynamics of pottery and the culture surrounding it.

New Mural at Manhattan Heights

Public Art in Manhattan Beach

That’s our life

For Armelle Ngo, art is more than just a visual experience; it's a form of therapy, a way to connect with oneself and the world. Her canvas becomes a sanctuary where she weaves emotions, memories, and cultural influences into a kaleidoscope of vibrant colors. In her hands, the brush becomes a conduit for self-expression, a journey into the soul that is both personal and universally resonant.

Armelle's recent masterpiece not only serves as a stunning visual spectacle but also embodies the artist's belief that art has the transformative power to make us feel good. Through her work, she invites the community to experience the joy and positivity that emanate from the fusion of colors and forms.

Her new mural is a modern design featuring a skateboarder soaring above a leaping volleyball player. It features the nearby ocean.
