LEAF BLOWERS REMAIN PROHIBITED
IN MANHATTAN BEACH
The use of all mechanical leaf blowers (gas, battery, electric) for any purpose is prohibited.
Manhattan Beach continues to enforce its ban on the use of all mechanical leaf blowers including gas, battery, and electric models under Municipal Code M.B.M.C. 5.48.330. This ordinance is designed to protect our community's air quality, public health, and peace.
Leaf blowers can stir up harmful airborne particles such as pollen, pesticides, mold, spores, animal waste, and heavy metals like lead and mercury. This ban helps protect the general public from pollution caused by airborne particles.
Instead of blowing leaves away, consider raking, sweeping, or letting them naturally mulch your yard. Mulched fallen leaves can help: Suppress weeds and keep soil moist
The Your City, Your Voice budget survey is now live and open through March 31, 2026.
From parks and playgrounds to cultural arts, public safety, and protecting the environment, we’re asking what matters most to you. Your feedback will help guide important decisions as we plan the city’s budget for the year ahead.
Your feedback will directly impact the city’s upcoming budget decisions. Take a few minutes to share your thoughts! All are welcome to submit the survey: residents, business owners, community members, and visitors.
The survey is open through March 31, 2025.
Visit the Budget and Accounting webpage for more information about the budget and the budget process.
Thank you for being an active part of our community!
• Return nutrients to your lawn and garden as they decompose
• Provide habitat for local pollinators
For those who need mechanical help, leaf vacuums can collect leaves without blowing harmful particles into the air.
7.44.020 PERMANENT WATER CONSERVATION MEASURES
B. Cleaning. No person shall:
1. Use water to wash, clean or clear any sidewalks, streets, walkways, patios, driveways, alleys or parking areas, whether paved or unpaved, with a hose connected to a domestic water source unless through use of a water broom or pressure washer.
If you see a violation of this ordinance, report it to Code Enforcement at (310) 802-5518 or via email at code@manhattanbeach.gov. Learn more about the leaf blower ban at www.manhattanbeach.gov/LeafBlowers

The results are in! The 2025 Manhattan Beach Community Opinion Survey, which polled 588 residents between September 29 and October 6, 2025, shows exceptionally strong satisfaction with our city.
• 96% of residents rate the overall quality of life as excellent or good.
• 94% consider Manhattan Beach a safe place to live.
• 87% are satisfied with the City's municipal services (unchanged since 2021).
• 95% of residents who contacted City staff rated them as professional. Satisfaction with City-resident communication improved significantly, rising 6 points from 75% in 2021 to 81% in 2025.
Residents expressed the highest satisfaction with: graffiti removal (98%), fire protection (97%), emergency medical services (97%), and special events (94%).
When asked for areas needing improvement, residents identified the following top three priorities:
1. Addressing parking issues.
2. Enforcing traffic and e-bike laws.
3. Limiting growth and development.
When prioritizing future spending, residents ranked fixing potholes and street/sidewalk repair highest (92% high or medium priority), followed by park maintenance improvements (87%) and sewer system upgrades (79%).
Support for allowing temporary short-term rentals during the 2026 World Cup and 2028 Olympics increased from 58% to 66% after residents learned rental taxes would help fund additional public safety services during these events.

1. A parking structure
(65% high or medium priority)

This class begins with stretching followed by mindfulness for 20 minutes. Stretching is vital as it lengthens and elongates muscles improving flexibility and elasticity. Stretching has many benefits including improving posture, decreasing back pain, and preventing injury. Our mindfulness portion will give us the opportunity to drop down into stillness with an emphasis on breath and presence. Mindful awareness adds insight to our overall existence. The practice increases vitality, encourages health and wellness, decreases stress, promotes inner peace and calm, and has even been proven to reduce blood pressure and boost immune function. This combination of stretching and mindfulness practice will leave you feeling relaxed, calm, and serene.
