Ripple Effect Ripple Effect

January 24 - March 30, 2025

Manhattan Beach has always cherished its intrinsic connection to the ocean, recognizing that vibrant coastal life depends on a healthy marine ecosystem. To safeguard this vital resource, the city is leading critical environmental initiatives, including a redesigned stormwater drainage system aimed at reducing harmful runoff into the Santa Monica Bay. As a watershed, it is essential for the City to keep our channels clean to preserve water quality, prevent flooding, and protect wildlife habitats.

In response to growing environmental challenges, Ripple Effect brings together a collective of artists whose works capture the ocean ’ s beauty while raising awareness of its fragility, inspiring viewers to reflect on their connection to the sea. These artists draw upon the ocean ’ s elemental forces, creating pieces that evoke its vast and ever-changing presence.

Some works present introspective narratives that quietly explore the human experience shaped by the waves. Together, these creations form a visual tide—one that moves from wonder to reflection, from awareness to action reminding us that the ocean is far more than a resource; it is a source of inspiration, a life force, and a shared responsibility for us all to protect.
