REFUGE IN THE COUNTRYSIDE

The project involves converting an existing vernacular structure, formerly used as a refuge for shepherds, into a small occasional residence. This was achieved by replicating the original volume symmetrically to maintain its original conditions and functionality, with careful attention to orientation, ventilation, and water collection. The construction features a dry-built outer wall that engages with the local climate, while internally, the layout reflects the original compartments for animals and shepherds, with distinct areas for different functions. Each compartment is furnished with a single defining object, clarifying its purpose.
