Minimum pass performance descriptors

The sketch must be organized and neat, in terms of the paper format or size, cutting of the paper edge as well as writing of student name and ID.

Sketches must be drawn from observation. Copying the sketch from a picture is not accepted.

Neat outlines, where the rendering of the different surfaces represent the form rather than the outlines. No rulers are allowed in the course.

Sketches must be rendered in the assigned media. Submitting just the outline of an object is insufficient.

Perspective drawings are accepted to a minimum standard, where the rules of perspective discussed in class are implied.

Concepts and ideas must be submitted in a sketch, drawing or mock-up. Verbal communication of ideas is not accepted.

Reflection:

This assignment was a challenge, since drawing

straight lines are the basics yet difficult. But it was a funassignment.

Grading Feedback:

Need a lot of work and practice one straight lines.

As for the circles, they need a more unified shape.

Sketching real life objects for the first time was an excitig activity. The sketch had to be neat and well scaled per the criteria.

The sketch was not very neat.

Proportions were not exact and needed improvement.

I faced an issue with drawing Straight lines contiously. Using ink, I had to practice perfecting straight lines.

More practice on line assignments.

SHADING

Reflection:

The use of hatching techniques was interesting. Ink was very Helpful with defining straight lines. Shading objects was alittle difficult from different views.

some work on shading and eye-level work.

Reflection: Shading compositions was now easier. By time and practice I had improved my techniques. Grading Feedback: Eye-level work can be better. Sketch needs more neatness. GRADE: 8.5 HOMEWORK

Reflection:

I struggled with understanding this assignment as I not acquire three cubes. Shading is good but no reflections.

Grading Feedback:

Shading needs more contrast and mirroring. Compostion is not on eye- level.

FIRST PERSPECTIVE DRAWING

Reflection:

Was very excited to start perspective. Lines were straight and displayed well. Was not on the know that we need to shade it .

Lines were straight but stairs didn’t approach the perspective point to the right angle.

WATERCOLOR AND INK WEEK 4 HOMEWORK

Reflection:

Using watercolor was amazing. Ink techniques improved drastically and straight lines are easier now.

Grading Feedback:

Paper is supposed to be 300 grams. Wrong Format.

Reflection:

Improvement on watercoloring techniques. Easy to draw to perspective point but still difficult to find it exactly.

The paper was ripped from the ends. Wrong format.

Reflection:

Sketching perspectives on spot was a very fun assignment.

used different shades of green for the trees.

Reflection:

Using ink, I had to outline the penthouse. Then add watercolor for contrast and effect.

Grading Feedback: Blending could be smoother. No sharp lines. Grade: 9

Sketchbook practice

Reflection:

I made the first sketch in 10 minutes which shows great improvement. Improved shading and line techniques. Using ink, I created random urban buildings.

Perspective Ink

Reflection:

Practicing shading was very important to create contrast and mirroring. Shading figures helps with buildings and determining the light and dark spots, also the hard and soft ones.
