We re kicking things off in style with the return of Go Skateboarding Day on June 21st at the Skate Park Now in its second year, this high-energy event brings together skaters of all ages for demos, competitions, food trucks, and vendor fun Whether you re a seasoned skater or a first-time spectator, this is a can't-miss celebration of skate culture.
Over at the Senior Center, our beloved Spaghetti Bingo Night continues to grow in popularity, bringing generations together for an evening of good food and great fun. We’re always looking for helping hands consider volunteering and making a meaningful impact in the lives of our older adults.
For our youth, Junior Giants is back for its fourth season, teaching more than just baseball it’s about teamwork, leadership, and life lessons that last well beyond the field. And don t forget the ever-popular Movies in the Park series! Pack a blanket, grab a snack, and enjoy a movie under the stars with your favorite people.
Manteca Park-A-Palooza returns with a fresh new date September 13th at Woodward Park to take advantage of cooler weather and boost family attendance. Expect three great bands, interactive entertainment, and tons of kid-friendly activities. It’s our biggest end-of-summer bash, and it just keeps getting better!

Commissions, Committees, and community partners Recreation and Parks Commission
Friends Foundation
The Friends of Manteca Parks and Recreation consists of Manteca community members. The foundations raises money for scholarship opportunities for the youth in Manteca. Meetings take place on the 4th Thursday of each month at 11:00a and are open to the public. Meetings are held at Uncle Franks Café inside the Golf Course clubhouse.
Senior Advisory Committee
The Senior Advisory Committee (SAC) consists of Manteca Senior Citizens aged 50 and above, offering guidance to both the City Council and the Recreation and Parks Commission on matters concerning senior citizens. SAC actively supports various events and programs at the Senior Center annually. Meetings take place on the second Monday of each month at 12:30p at the Manteca Senior Center and are open to the public.
Youth Advisory Committee
This Commission is made-up of Manteca teens, 9th-12th grade, who advise the City Council and the Recreation and Parks Commission on youth and teen related programs and issues. YAC also sponsors numerous events and programs each year. Meetings are held on the third Thursday of the month at 6:00p at the Manteca Senior Center and are open to the public.

The Recreation and Parks commission is established to provide a communication link between the community and the City Council and staff. The commission specifically advises the City Council on subjects of recreation and facility master planning and development, needed parks and recreation facilities, goals and objectives for parks and recreation, and methods of community involvement.

This season, he’s diving right into our aquatics programs – from swim lessons to family splash nights, Parky's making waves and soaking up the sun.
When the sun sets, the fun keeps going! Parky’s ready for community events that bring everyone together – from outdoor movie nights to exciting seasonal celebrations, he’s always where the action is. Parky’s also getting in on the game with our sports programs. Whether it’s dribbling on the court or scoring goals on the field, he’s all about team spirit, high-fives, and a little friendly competition.

Open for the summer only, we have two pools on site Our small pool has a maximum depth of 2 feet and is perfect for the little ones! Registration Information
Registration is not accepted at any swimming pools. Register online or in person at the MRCS front desk at 295 Cherry Lane.
There will be a pre-registration period from May 5- May 11 for Manteca Residents. Registration will open up to all beginning May 12th. During this time, you may register for any one time slot per child per session in and you may register for multiple sessions.
Beginning June 2nd, registrations will be accepted for only the next consecutive session and during this time registration is limited to one time slot and one session per student.
he registration deadline for each session is 6:00pm on the Thursday prior to the start of the session you are registering for.
If you wish to register for the next consecutive session, but do not know if your child will advance to the next level, please speak to the instructor a few days before the session ends for clarification as registration deadlines and late fees will be enforced.

The NFL Flag Football League is the premiere youth flag football league for boys and girls ages 5-13. Through practices and games, the program teaches players the fundamentals of football, good sportsmanship, and teamwork. Games will be on Saturdays. Recreation staff is bubbling over with excitement to introduce our new, staff-led, family-friendly cooking workshop for little chefs ages 4-7! From learning the basics of kitchen safety to mastering the art of food prep, you and your mini sous-chef will create culinary magic while making memories that will last a lifetime. Intro to Painting workshop by H-Art Therapy
Ages: 6-14
In this workshop, we will cover a wide variety of lesson plans that may include still life, landscape, portrait painting and more The sky is the limit No prior experience is required! We ll hold the students’ hands every step of the way With our step-by-step methods, anyone can create a masterpiece. This workshop provides the perfect balance between the guided assistance necessary for learning and allowing creative freedom to make the art your own. Special techniques are used to intensify the natural healing powers of art. Each session utilizes simplified freehand creative techniques allowing each guest to leave with a masterpiece each and every class. Professional Art Coaches guide every painting experience through wellness practices that support emotional well-being, self- expression, and personal growth.
We make the experience fun so come create in a judgment-free atmosphere with experienced Art Coaches. New lessons plans are used for each scheduled week of workshop.

Recreation Classes
Online Driver's Education
Ages: 15+; Self Paced; No instructor
Learn the rules of the road and all you need to know to pass the DMV written test. This course includes multiple practice tests, videos, and much more. This is a self-paced course and a great refresher of current and new laws. A licensed driving instructor is available to answer questions.

Virtual Driver's Education
Ages 15+; Live instructor
Students will enjoy a series of Driver’s Education lectures, including understanding the responsibilities of having a driver s license, learning the rules of the road, and accidentavoidance procedures. Independent assignments will be completed during the course., which also includes practice questions, defensive-driving movies, and written-test prep. Upon successful completion, students will receive a Certificate of Completion.

Dog Obedience
Ages: Handler must be 12+
This course is for beginners from puppies to full-grown dogs The pups need to have completed the series of Parvo and Distemper shots, which usually happens at three to four months of age Class includes regular obedience instruction, information on breaking bad habits, and socializing your pup with other dogs and people. A substantial discount is given if your dog needs to repeat the course.

In partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank, The Manteca Senior Center offers a bi-monthly brown bag program. This program offers registered participants a grocery bag once, every other week. Registration for this program is accepted once annually; The next registration date will be in July 2025.
Movie Day
Join the Senior Center staff in enjoying a Movie on the big screen. Sit movietheatre style in our North Hall and watch a movie on our large projector screen. Movies and Treats rotate each month, guaranteed to play favorites for everyone, throughout the year!

Halloween Time in UFO Country, New Mexico

Are you looking for a place to hold a company picnic, family reunion, or party? Call us at 209-4568600 to check facility availability. Reservations must be submitted at least 30 days in advance to the Manteca Recreation & Community Services Office. The City reserves the right to refuse to grant the use of facilities to any person or group if such use is deemed to be contrary to regulations outlined in the Manteca Municipal Code Section and/or the Use of City Facilities Policy.

FIELD RESERVATIONS & PERMITS
Does your team need a place to hold a tournament, team practice, or league games? Use of a park is first come, first-served, except when a Park Use Permit has been taken out.
A Park Use Permit and appropriate insurance is required for any of the following:
All sports-field rentals
Groups or organized activities involving 50 or more people
Any activity involving the erection or placement of stages, booths, platforms, structure's or other art works, or other similar structures on park property
Commercial or mobile recreation equipment, commercial or non-profit vendors, and other items, including portable restrooms. These uses will require prior approval by the department, additional permits and payment of associated fees.

Woodward Park is Manteca's largest park sitting on 50 acres featuring a picnic structure, basketball courts, lighted multi-purpose fields and two playgrounds. Woodward's multi-purpose fields hosts multiple sporting events, cultural events, and the cities special events. Along the perimeter of the park is a designated walking trail, and exercise stations.
