With summer right around the corner, we’re excited to share the latest edition of the Manteca Recreation & Community Services Activity Guide— your seasonal passport to fun, connection, and community.

We’re kicking things off in style with the return of Go Skateboarding Day on June 21st at the Skate Park. Now in its second year, this high-energy event brings together skaters of all ages for demos, competitions, food trucks, and vendor fun. Whether you're a seasoned skater or a first-time spectator, this is a can't-miss celebration of skate culture.

Over at the Senior Center, our beloved Spaghetti Bingo Night continues to grow in popularity, bringing generations together for an evening of good food and great fun. We’re always looking for helping hands—consider volunteering and making a meaningful impact in the lives of our older adults.

For our youth, Junior Giants is back for its fourth season, teaching more than just baseball—it’s about teamwork, leadership, and life lessons that last well beyond the field. And don’t forget the ever-popular Movies in the Park series! Pack a blanket, grab a snack, and enjoy a movie under the stars with your favorite people.

Manteca Park-A-Palooza returns with a fresh new date—September 13th at Woodward Park—to take advantage of cooler weather and boost family attendance. Expect three great bands, interactive entertainment, and tons of kid-friendly activities. It’s our biggest end-of-summer bash, and it just keeps getting better!

We’re also making waves at Lincoln Pool, where our swim instructors are ready to welcome participants of all levels. Whether you're learning to float or perfecting your freestyle, there’s a class for you. Don’t wait—spots fill quickly!

And for those looking for midweek excitement, Music on Maple is back every 3rd Thursday, May through October, bringing live music, themed nights, food trucks, and family-friendly vibes to downtown Manteca. It’s the perfect excuse to get out and enjoy your community.

Commissions, Committees, and community partners Friends Foundation

---------------------------------------------------------

The Friends of Manteca Parks and Recreation consists of Manteca community members. The foundations raises money for scholarship opportunities for the youth in Manteca. Meetings take place on the 4th Thursday of each month at 11:00a and are open to the public. Meetings are held at Uncle Franks Café inside the Golf Course clubhouse.

Senior Advisory Committee

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Senior Advisory Committee (SAC) consists of Manteca Senior Citizens aged 50 and above, offering guidance to both the City Council and the Recreation and Parks Commission on matters concerning senior citizens.

SAC actively supports various events and programs at the Senior Center annually. Meetings take place on the second Monday of each month at 12:30p at the Manteca Senior Center and are open to the public.

Recreation and Parks Commission ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Recreation and Parks commission is established to provide a communication link between the community and the City Council and staff.

The commission specifically advises the City Council on subjects of recreation and facility master planning and development, needed parks and recreation facilities, goals and objectives for parks and recreation, and methods of community involvement.

Youth Advisory Committee

This Commission is made-up of Manteca teens, 9th-12th grade, who advise the City Council and the Recreation and Parks Commission on youth and teen related programs and issues. YAC also sponsors numerous events and programs each year. Meetings are held on the third Thursday of the month at 6:00p at the Manteca Senior Center and are open to the public.

Meet Parky, your favorite fluffy-tailed friend and the official fun ambassador of the recreation department! With boundless energy and a big bushy tail, Parky's ready to help you make the most of this season.

Born under the shady trees of our neighborhood parks, Parky knows every trail, splash zone, and ball field like the back of his paw.

This season, he’s diving right into our aquatics programs – from swim lessons to family splash nights, Parky's making waves and soaking up the sun.

When the sun sets, the fun keeps going! Parky’s ready for community events that bring everyone together – from outdoor movie nights to exciting seasonal celebrations, he’s always where the action is.

Parky’s also getting in on the game with our sports programs.

Whether it’s dribbling on the court or scoring goals on the field, he’s all about team spirit, high-fives, and a little friendly competition.

So whether you’re learning to swim, enjoying a summer evening event, or hitting the field, Parky’s here to cheer you on every step of the way. Let’s make this season unforgettable – with Parky leading the fun!

Hello voyagers! Join us at Woodward Park on June 14th to see the new, “Moana 2”!

Arrive to the park at 5pm to enjoy live music, food trucks, vendor booths, and games! Lay out your blankets and set up your lawn chairs, because at sunset, we will be starting the movie!

Go Skate Day Competition

June 21st, 8am Check In - Manteca Skate Park Join us for Go Skate Day on Saturday, June 21st, featuring a skate competition, jams, runs, and pro demos. Enjoy food trucks, a live DJ, vendor booths, and a cooling zone throughout the day. Be sure to pre-register online or at the Manteca Recreation office by Thursday, June 19th. Helmets Required. Free Entry.

4th of July Fireworks Display

July 4th, 9:30PM - Big League Dreams SAVE THE DATE! Gather at BLD to enjoy an Independence Day fireworks show!

Grab your towel and beat the heat on July 26th at our annual Free Open Swim Day! Take a dip in the Lincoln pool, enjoy games and activities at the Recreation booth, and soak up the sun! Free Entry.

Movie in the Park

August 9th , 5pm - Woodward Park Gotta Catch them all! Evolve over to Woodward Park on August 9th to watch “Detective Pikachu” ! Get to the park for the start of the event at 5pm to enjoy live music, vendor booths, food trucks, and games! The movie will begin at sunset, so be sure to bring your blankets and lawn chairs!

Aquatics Programs Jr. Lifeguard Aquatics Camp July 14 - July 17

12:00pm-3:00pm Fee: $125 for Residents / $135 for non-residents

Lincoln PooL Lincoln PooL Open for the summer only, we have two pools on site. Our small pool has a maximum depth of 2 feet and is perfect for the little ones! Our large pool is great for the whole family and has a maximum depth of 5.5 feet. Lifejackets available for use at no charge on a first-come first served basis during recreation swim hours. Over the summer we host a variety of swim lessons, aquatics camps, and events as part of our robust aquatics programs!

Location: Lincoln Pool (245 S. Powers Avenue) Recreational swim offers individuals of all ages the opportunity to enjoy our pools in a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable environment. We invite the community to take part in this inclusive and refreshing experience.

Campers learn water safety and basic rescue techniques.

They will build stamina through swimming and games, led by certified lifeguards. Students should be comfortable swimming independently in deep water. This camp is not a certification program. Registration includes a t-shirt.

Group Swim Lessons $75 for Manteca Residents

$85 for Non- Residents

Group swim lessons run in two week sessions (Monday through Thursday) and are offered up to age 13.

Parent and me class ratios can be up to 12 participants per instructor, and non parent and me classes can be up to 6 participants per instructor. There are lifeguards on deck during all swim lesson times.

Adaptive Swim Lessons $75 for Manteca Residents

Adaptive swim lessons run in two week sessions (Monday through Thursday) and are one-on-one lessons for participants with special needs. Skills taught in these classes depend on the goals of the participant.

There are lifeguards on deck during all swim lesson times.

Swim Lessons Registration Information Registration is not accepted at any swimming pools. Register online or in person at the MRCS front desk at 295 Cherry Lane.

There will be a pre-registration period from May 5- May 11 for Manteca Residents. Registration will open up to all beginning May 12th. During this time, you may register for any one time slot per child per session in and you may register for multiple sessions.

Beginning June 2nd, registrations will be accepted for only the next consecutive session and during this time registration is limited to one time slot and one session per student.

The registration deadline for each session is 6:00pm on the Thursday prior to the start of the session you are registering for.

If you wish to register for the next consecutive session, but do not know if your child will advance to the next level, please speak to the instructor a few days before the session ends for clarification as registration deadlines and late fees will be enforced.

Private Swim Lessons $130 for Manteca Residents

$140 for Non-Residents

Youth Sports Junior Giants Ages: 5-13 Our Junior Giants baseball and softball program is a completely free, eight-week, non-competitive baseball league for boys and girls ages 5-13. The program focuses on the fundamentals of baseball as well as leadership, teamwork, confidence and integrity. NO FEE. Spaces are limited.

NFL Flag Football Ages: 5-14 The NFL Flag Football League is the premiere youth flag football league for boys and girls ages 5-13. Through practices and games, the program teaches players the fundamentals of football, good sportsmanship, and teamwork. Games will be on Saturdays. Each team will have at least one practice during the week and will play eight games. Practice days and time will be determined by the coach prior to the season. Each participant will receive an NFL Flag Football jersey, mouthpiece, and certificate of completion. Team announcements and game schedule will be emailed after registration closes. Ages: 3-6 (Divisions 3-4; 5-6) These recreational co-ed programs are designed to encourage development of children’s motor skills, help them learn the basics of different sports, and prepare them for future sports participation. The program meets on five Saturdays and includes basic drills and scrimmages led by recreation staff. All participants will receive a team shirt. Times vary between 9:00a and 3:00p. A great introduction to the game of tennis, using USTA’s 36-ft. court, red-ball format. The focus is on skill-development, basics, and fun. Lessons are taught in a fun and positive atmosphere, covering basic fundamentals, grips, scoring, movement drills, and lots of fun!

Ages: Handler must be 12+ This course is for beginners from puppies to full-grown dogs. The pups need to have completed the series of Parvo and Distemper shots, which usually happens at three to four months of age. Class includes regular obedience instruction, information on breaking bad habits, and socializing your pup with other dogs and people. A substantial discount is given if your dog needs to repeat the course.

FIELD RESERVATIONS & PERMITS Does your team need a place to hold a tournament, team practice, or league games? Use of a park is first come, first-served, except when a Park Use Permit has been taken out.

A Park Use Permit and appropriate insurance is required for any of the following:

Featured Parks Woodward Park

710 E Woodward Ave, Manteca, CA 95337 Woodward Park is Manteca's largest park sitting on 50 acres featuring a picnic structure, basketball courts, lighted multi-purpose fields and two playgrounds. Woodward's multi-purpose fields hosts multiple sporting events, cultural events, and the cities special events. Along the perimeter of the park is a designated walking trail, and exercise stations.
