Nature Exploration Center Sunset Zoo officially has a shiny new entrance to welcome guests! Dedicated as the Nature Exploration Center, the space provides much-needed updates in technology and space, as well as aggregating resources for zoo staff. Included in the Nature Exploration Center are administrative offices, classrooms, nature-based preschool, distance learning room, animal holding facilities, catering kitchen, meeting spaces, and featuring a beautiful rotunda celebrating the Flint Hills. Additionally, the zoo features a new ticket booth and gift shop, complete with a bee-hive for close-up viewing. If the zoo is a regular part of your routine, this will be a welcome facelift. If it’s been years since you’ve been? It’s time to go back. The facility officially opened to the public Sunday, June 3. Have questions, or interest in booking the zoo space? 17 Years of Country Stampede It’s time to Stampede! Cowboy boots, hats, shorts and pick-up trucks will be found in plenty June 21-24 at Tuttle Creek State Park. The Midwest Country Stampede has become the must-attend summer event for thousands of country music fans. The biggest stars in country music come to Manhattan, KS each year the last full weekend in June. With Toby Keith, The Band Perry, The Zac Brown Band, and Luke Bryan, emphatic fans will have plenty to cheer about.
