The Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce Leadership Manhattan board is honored to announce the 2020 Class of Leadership Manhattan. Jenn Alley, Bluemont Hotel; Christian Bishop, Fort Riley; Cody Blake, KS State Bank; Jamie Bosse, Aspyre Wealth Partners; Jenny Danenberg, Kansas Department of Agriculture; Greg Doering, Kansas Farm Bureau; Gavin Garman, Premier Employment Solutions; Jason Gazaway, Sunflower Bank; Anja Hightower, Intrust Bank; Abby Hoelting, Seaton, Seaton and Dierks; Jeff Sackrider, WTC; Barry Schmidt, McCown Gordon Construction; Jennifer Schoenhofer, Meadowlark; Preston Schotte, The Trust Company; Jordan Seirer, 502; Zach Sheppard, Charlson and Wilson Bonded Abstracters; Casey Smithson, City of Manhattan; and Karla Wilcox, Scott Rice. A total of seven sessions culminate in the class graduation luncheon scheduled for May 5. The mission of Leadership Manhattan is to ensure the vitality of our community by providing a continuous source of motivated leaders who are educated about the region, its challenges and opportunities, as well as trained and inspired to assume leadership roles in the Manhattan area at all levels.

This business networking opportunity features a newsmaker who is focused on relevant issues in our community. Topics may include: healthcare, legislative efforts, economic and community news. There will be a total of five lunches throughout the year, hosted in February, April, June, October and December. Board appointments made for the upcoming year

The Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has elected Larie Schoap (Vice President, ESB Financial) as 2020 Chair of the Board. More approvals during the December Board meeting included: election of Mark Bachamp (Office Manager, Olsson) to the Chair-Elect position, Summer Ott Dierks (Partner, Seaton, Seaton & Dierks, L.L.P.) as treasurer, Wayne Sloan (Chairman/ CEO, BHS Construction) will serve as immediate past chair, Linda Cook (Chief of Staff, Kansas State University) and Mark Knackendoffel (The Trust Company) as vice chairs. Board of Directors (three-year appointments): Nancy Burton (BBN Architects), Bob Copple (Ascension Via Christi Hospital), Chris Eichman (Midwest Concrete Materials), Cheryl Grice (Kansas State University), Todd Knight (McCownGordon Construction) and Gail Urban (AMICUS Wealth Partners). One-year appointments: Tracy Anderson (Knight Architects), Lisa Sisley (New Boston Creative Group) and Chris Stipe (Manhattan Surgical Group).
